imagine what WCW could have done if they had an AI version of Ole Anderson's voice so they could use that voice without needing to employ Ole Anderson

I wonder what AI would have said when The Shockmaster fell down

Buzz Tyler looks like chonky Johnathan Frakes and I can't unsee it.

this statement confused me at first until I realized I was confusing Buzz Tyler with Buzz Sawyer

but I'll say that Buzz Tyler looks a bit like Richard Karn too

Great Face Turns that never happened: Frenchy Martin turns face and changes his sign to say "U.S.A. Is Now O.K."

Changes name to "Freedom Martin".

Looking back no promotion ever having a "Russian" turn face and "defect" to the US was a huge missed opportunity/ I'm not talking about at the end of the Cold War when it was silly to have some Soviet flag waving heel, thinking of 1985 and either Vince, Dusty or Bill Watts watches Moscow on the Hudson and gets the idea for it.

I guess using 80s wrestling logic, having Nikita Koloff defect makes him look weaker than the face turn they actually did

How? Nikita's turn was out of necessity, had Terry Allen been driving a Volvo and not an Orthodontist killer, the turn doesn't happen the way it did.

The free Impact show at the CNE last Friday was pretty cool! Got to see Yuya Uemura up close, and he looked really good in a losing effort to Rohit Raju. Jake Something, who is a really really big dude, beat Champagne Singh in the main event. They ended with a Q&A with Santino Marella and Josh Alexander. I've known Santino for over 15 years, it was great to reconnect with him. And Josh was a really good dude. Great that he's healthy again.

I actually got free tickets to the show last night but unfortunately couldn't make it.

I just realized that the "real" NWA World Heavyweight Champions are dying out. In principle Dory and Flair are the last two "real" ones (as in NWA-board approved and defending the title in different territories). Tommy Rich's run never took him outside of Georgia and by the time Garvin got it, JCP controlled the board (and at least cagematch does not have an non-JCP matches during his reign; there are a couple of UWF dates, but that was after Watts sold the company).

I totally believe Vince wrote that, mostly because it's not funny.

I was in Las Vegas last week for a Roller Derby convention and on Sunday I was on the hotel elevator and Jimmy Hart got on, at first I was like "that dude looks like Jimmy Hart" and then I realized it was him! My god is his combover amazing!!!! He should do a Master Class or Ted Talk on it, I'm not really saying that in a joking way, it's an impressive site to behold. I didn't want to bother him so I just said hi when we got off the elevator, shortly after that when I was eating breakfast I saw him talking with Madusa, as she was leaving I told her I enjoyed her book and we chatted for a bit, the Cauliflower Alley Club was having their convention/banquet that night.

When I was telling Medusa that I coach Roller Derby she had a total look of "don't kayfabe me" when I explained that it's an on the level sport, I'm assuming there's no way to convince someone from the pro wrestling world that modern derby is as real as real can be.

Is that Corino in a wig and under a Vince McAlias?  I completely missed this era of Raw/WWE

I saw Tony Shalhoub at a state park in Wisconsin once and had that same, "Wow! That guy looks just like...oh, that is!" reaction.

This is EC3 in his first WWE run on the old pre-black and gold NXT Redemption that was web only (I think? Maybe it was in syndication too or on Hulu?) - some real weird stuff in that run, with Johnny Curtis (now Dango) as the highlight.

Johnny Curtis, Derrick Bateman and Maxime were the best on that NXT run. It still aired in Canada on regular television at the time.

God. I fell down a rabbit hole of reversed wrestling promos. Totally hilarious.

I had a great 'Tilla-Monk Cheddar' joke queued up and then I find out it's actually made in OR, not WI - today isn't my day
