Here is how this story goes: 1) Punk does shoot-y style promos and they are irritating because the WWE doesn’t really do that right now and it hasn’t missed a beat. There are quickly diminishing returns but people pretend to like it anyways. 2) Punk gets hurt in about six weeks. 3) Punk comes back and some drama happens and he’s gone by SummerSlam.4 points

i don't know if anybody else cares about this, but i was watching an old episode of TNA Impact this morning and who do i see? future UFC champ Daniel Cormier. They brought out a couple people from the 2004 Olympic wrestling team. No promo or anything like that (or even a chyron), but i bet DC got a big kick out of it since he was a big pro wrestling fan. https://youtu.be/8XvOs6sCLgU4 points

Why not both? I mean both screaming at each other that the other ruined their perfect plan, until they both stop, stare at one another and then start making out in frustration would be pretty funny.4 points

I agree, but to repeat a frequent complaint: War Games and Hell in a Cell shouldn't be gimmick PPVs. They should pop up when a storyline calls for them. Then just make sure the men and women get about the same number in the long run and you're fine.3 points

So has Britt. I can actually see a scenario where the devil pulls the mask off to reveal it is Britt, and then Adam Cole nails MJF from behind, and we find out it was the two of them working together all along. Maybe the other two ninjas are Perry & KOR? That would set the stage for Strong/Bennett/Taven vs Cole/Perry/KOR matches.3 points

Brody is very well protected, but Kingston is one of hte 2 favorites in his block in a booking perspective. It's also 100% the right call to put him behind early. Makes the Kingston/Danielson match being next really interesting, my gut says that one might be a draw.2 points

Just to be clear: The bald guy flexing for the camera during Lady Frost vs Julia Hat was NOT me. I have a ton of thoughts and a zillion crappy dad jokes. For example: ALWAYS great to see Rocky! SO much *WRESTLING* on this show! (Hook, Shibata, Garcia, Wheerler...) And so many good big meaty men (Dutch, Brody King, Big Bill, Limitless...) The return of Malakai's perfect sing-a-long theme!!! Yes!!! GNARGNFRZT!!! BLARGENFRSAT!!! or Now we know what killed off the dinosaurs! It was CHAIRS! The Two Knee Storm! (From Buddy & Black, the new Killer Bs) etc etc etc BUT I am just SO HAPPY we got our Week One Upset. I was SURE Garcia was going to get it, because they were learning so hard into him being the underdog (and because Claudio is very giving) and when Garcia lost I felt like, "I guess we are just going chalk all the way. Oh well, at least we'll get a bunch of excellent fights." But, of course, Mad King is also Bryan-level giving in the ring. And him having to claw back from being one down is PERFECT booking. And Brody King getting the first upset win is also perfect, because Brody King is awesome. Way to go, AEW! Way to respect tradition. It's like Ned Stark getting killed at the end of season one. Now we KNOW anyone can go down for three at any time. Oh boy am I ever STOKED now!!!!! BRYAN vs KINGSTON!!! SWERVE vs SWITCHBLADE!!! CLAUDIO vs BRODY KING!!!! CHICKEN vs ROOOOOSH!!!!! F'n BRYAN DANIELSON vs EDDIE KINGSTON!!! And Kingston almost HAS TO win to stay in contention!!! . Edit: Speaking of freaking out: I just checked and there isn't one single match from today's three-hour show or Thanksgiving Dynamite that we can play on Fight Forever using the in-game roster! We can, however, do: And at least Orange vs Mox and Jericho & Kenny vs The Young Bucks are possible!2 points

Surprised to see the Pure title change hands on Rampage, especially so close to Final Battle. the video promo from Yuta before it was really good and set the stage for the match nicely. liked Copeland's promo challenging Christian for Montreal next week. Malakai Black mentioned CM Punk and called Claudio "Cesaro" !! Dante Martin is BACK! Lee vs. Lee was fun. Great main event from Brody vs. Eddie. Good thing for Eddie it wasn't 'defending the titles in each of his matches' Next week we get Moxley/Lethal, White/Swerve, and Briscoe/Rush on Dynamite + Bryan/Kingston, Claudio/Brody, and Garcia/Andrade on Collision.2 points

I tuned into Rampage before switching over to Survivor Series. Romero is still a great utility guy and had one of Hook's longer matches. Statlander/Diamante was really good and set up Kris' next program with Mercedes Martinez, which should be good. Yuta won the pure title again in a nice outing with Shibata so that's one BCC guy with gold.2 points

They made a huge miscalculation when making this game (besides the dev time likely taking a year-plus longer than intended): they somewhat wisely realized they could only get the base of something worthwhile done for the first game; the issue is that they mistakenly believed they could deal with that as DLC and in truth they never will, the game needs a sequel and any effort spent on DLC for a dying (as a long tail experience) game is reducing the chance that said game ever gets made. Release some character packs but all real development needs to be spent on a full new release built entirely atop of what's been established, it is literally the only path to where everyone wants things to get.2 points

Akira Hokuto vs. Shinobu Kandori - April, 2 1993 Aja Kong & Bison Kimura vs. Bull Nakano & Grizzly Iwamoto - August 19, 1990 Kairi Hojo vs. Meiko Satomura - Jun 14, 2015/July 26, 2015 This is what I get off the top of my head. I love plenty more from different eras and still have plenty I haven't seen yet. These are ones I think back to more often than others and know I love. Hokuto/Kandori is probably up there as one of my favorites in general.2 points

Just remembered The Miz doing a ringpost figure four vs Gunther tonight. It was a good match, not just a good Miz match, although there was a little bit of a "this pop star is a real musician, as evidenced by this acoustic album" energy with how the commentary talked about The Miz at times. Yeah, he actually watched the product, but good luck getting the people who don't like him to buy into that.1 point

If CM Punk does more Bret Hart tribute matches, I’m in. I could see them being cautious with putting Punk in the main title picture.1 point

I was thinking about the Survival Shout match. I absolutely hate a lot of the AJW "tag" matches from the late 80s/early 90s post Crush Gals that don't honor the traditional Australian rules cause why call it a tag match when you never actually tag. You just jump in the ring whenever and there is no real smooth transition unlike the Michinoku Pro multi man matches from back in the day. However, that match between Aja/Bison vs. Bull/Grizzly is some next level shit in that smash mouth style you only really saw in the territories or the 70s/80s All Japan with all the big names from the Funks to Hansen and Brody. It's almost like they gave too much even if for example, that kendo stick or modified kendo stick that Grizzly used was gimmicked. They beat the holy mess out of each other. It's basically the female equivalent of Cactus/Maxx Payne vs. The Nasty Boys from Spring Stampede 1994 on the ridiculously violent scale even down to the inconsequential finish of Grizzly being pinned with a German Suplex while the fans cannot possibly process the chaos that just took place. It more than redeems not following the actual tag team rules. Moreover, for what amounts to a heel vs. heel match, it totally helped build on Bull Nakano kinda totally breaking away from the lineage that started when she joined Dump's army and becoming her own woman.1 point

Watching Watts-era WCW Saturday Night 1992. There are a LOT of "upcoming young star babyface" angles overlapping (Erik Watts, Robbie/Bobby Walker, Marcus Bagwell, Shane Douglas, to a lesser extent Dustin Rhodes too). The break up of Rhodes and Windham is such a good angle though - I love the idea of Rhodes teaming up with either more established babyfaces (Steamboat), or guys you could argue are more over than Windham at the time, or made logical sense as a partner (Armstrong recently coming off a program with Pillman). Rather than Jimmy outright turn heel on Jey at Summerslam, it would have been cool to see Jey attempt to defend the titles with Cody, Rollins, Sami etc before Jey turned on him. I'm surprised it's an angle that's never been replicated again. For every bit I enjoyed this, Tony Atlas as a heel fucking suuuuuuuuuucked.1 point

It's four corner survival night. The women's one was way short but everyone got a little bit of shine, the tag one was fun with Jorel Nelson & Royce Isaacs looking impressive despite being the only non-ROH team and not getting an entrance, almost looked like they could win but I'm glad to see the WorkHorsemen pick up a win. The men's 4 way shocked me with a nice Big Shotty win, thought for sure Willie Mack was winning that one. Shibata vs Trent made a solid opener along with the Ethan/Nese rematch and their feud continuing and Yuta/Moriarty in pure rules. Surreal to see Ronda Rousey on the Honor Club. I was sad they overdubbed her music though. Surprised they acknowledged/showed footage of the Revolver match, I thought that was a no contest but they said here DQ. Thought the match was an absolutely fantastic main event. Great back and forth all throughout. Ronda looked excellent and like she was having a blast the whole time, thought everyone here shined. Loved the double teams, thought Marina's slingshot into Ronda's piper's pit move could've been the finish and Billie/Athena's gory bomb into double knees looked good. Billie's Swanton while Ronda had Athena in the armbar ruled. Figured when Athena was going up that Billie was going to tag herself in and cost them the match, but a great finisher overall in leaving it open that Athena seemingly had Ronda beat with the O-Face originally. This was a lot of fun and I'm definitely down for more Ronda of Honor.1 point

Considering how little of the book storyline they got into Part One, I wouldn't be surprised if Part Two ended with a "To be Continued" about two thirds of the way through the book plot.1 point
