  1. This is a man who cut Hornswoggle out of his life for asking him for a phone number. It's really easy to know who the common denominator in all these stories is and it's not Vince McMahon, Triple H, Roman Reigns, Ryback, Colt Cabana, Hornswoggle, the rest of the Brooks family, Kenny Omega, a fan who called him "Phil" while asking for an autograph, Colt's lawyer, Tony Khan, Adam Page, The Young Bucks, Christopher Daniels, Regular Tax-Paying Man Jack Perry, Dr. Amann, or the 87 Broncos.

  2. Regarding the International Title, I think OC has elevated that thing well above the TNT title. I look at the International Title as being just below the singles World titles in terms of importance.

  6. I think you guys are crazy. Keep the title on Orange, his matches almost always overdeliver. Once you officially turn Garcia face, he can win it but it shouldn't be for several more months at least. Crowd is into the International title defences, Orange is getting way over, suddenly taking the title off him now just strikes me as change for the same of change. I say lean into the Orange's getting more beat up story: have him come to ring with crutches, his arm in a sling (only to cast it off dramatically mid-match to put his hands on his pockets!), Or in a wheelchair, wearing an eyepatch. Heck have the Best Friends wheel him.to the ring in an iron lung. I think this Cassidy reign still had legs. I've got a Twitter account that is all sports, no pro wrestling (wrestling Twitter is pretty dreadful for the most part), but there's lots of wrestling that crosses over into my feed with a lot of journalists being fans as well, and there are two guys that dominate the mainstream conversation and it's Roman Reigns and it's Orange Cassidy. Now I can see where one would think you could just have him do the same thing as world champ to draw more attention to it but you're not going to have all the top guys agree to put him over in the same way so you either lose the angle or else end up with a world champ defending his belt against guys like the Blade. It just won't work at that level

  7. If this were Impact Steamer could just go into the Hardy lake and come out as Wheeler Yuta and there’s the match.

  8. It's late to be posting show thoughts so I'm not going to run down the card or anything but I was in the upper tier on Sunday and had an absolutely great time. Nothing dragged and the presence of no downer matches meant I found it easier to resist the £8 beers. It remains the case that my mind is blown by how many fans they got in there - it looked and felt like 81,000 and they were hot throughout - but they could have done more. Lots of pockets of empty seats in the upper tier and the hard cam was taped off completely. I'm interested to see how they get on next year. I think a lot of fans probably went because of the assumption this sort of thing doesn't happen often and returns may diminish - even more so if people can assume they'll be able to go in 2025 so they can skip a year. We'll see. I'd go again for sure. I actually liked the Pepsi Plunge as a finish spot as an easter egg for all of the lifers among us and deconstructing the mechanics of a move that's always looked dumb anyway is a waste of time. It's more about what it meant (and I that punk can't really get Joe up for the G2S either). My favourite element of it, though - and there's been discussion already on the split crowd for Punk/Joe - were the guys in the row behind me who were really pulling for Punk but who did not recognise the Pepsi Plunge. Indicated to me that I've been a wrestling fan far too long. The funniest spot of the night was the Adam Cole ref bump, by absolute miles. I am not an Adam Cole fan in general but, live, I really enjoyed the main and he held up his end of the melodrama for sure. I have also been down on his look in the past but I WILL say that he's actually very handsome and also that the T-shirt stuff was obviously part of the story and nothing to do with his own opinions of his body. On openers - I think on most live shows the idea that you warm the crowd up with something easy is still adhered to but these days by the time the feed starts the crowd have already been warmed up plenty through the pre-show so you can start the PPV hot and still get good reactions.

  9. This is looking like a B show on paper, and I'm not sure Punk vs Starks for a fake belt would've done anything to change that. That being said, I'm sure Kenny vs. Takeshita and Mox vs. OC will be excellent. It's probably the right time and opponent to end OC's reign, but damn if I don't want Mox to kick the everloving shit out of him just to have OC squeak out another win. I was on shows with Shane Taylor in Ohio back in '07, wrestling in bars and gravel parking lots for "crowds" of like three people. Glad to see him getting a big stage.

  10. My favourite thing in the empty arena match is honestly when Lawler comes out and Funk starts giving his shit for dressing up for the full entrance with nobody there. His ability to be funny while also being a maniacal asshole was just something else.

  14. Someone here I think said that after the cumulative damage from All In, someone should just squash OC on Dynamite. I think that idea is pretty great, but do it next week. Have Mox just beat the brakes off of OC, but have it be the penultimate beating and the next week on Dynamite, have someone like Keith Lee/Swerve/Takeshita/ANYONE just come out and murder OC like Brodie did to Cody.

  15. I'm ready for OC's reign to end(not a shot at OC, but i think it's time), but I really don't want it to be to Mox.

  19. We have had to put up with another week of CM Punk discourse we have earned the right to see that goddamn footage. At least the part where the monitors fall on TK just so we can know if it was as funny as it is in my head.

  20. Swerve is my guy to beat OC. Love the idea of doing it on Dynamite after he’s left for dead at the PPV

  21. I also don't want OC to lose the strap to Mox. There's way, way, way more to gain with Moxley putting OC over here, OC dropping the title to someone else worthy of it, and then with a very long title reign with more defenses than anyone else AND a big win over Moxley, he's in the perfect position to challenge for the World title after he heals up.

  23. All these years later, the most surreal and disturbing wrestling match I've seen. You'd think I wouldn't like it having said that, yet I do. Same with Foley and Funk's deathmatches. Think it's because of Foley, Funk and Sabu involvements.

  25. Had my first Pilates session for four weeks and I'm feeling it, man. The class has told me I'm the only male who has stuck it out. This was my ninth class and only once has another male gone. It's run by a male instructor, Marvin. The class nearly always sells out so it's a bugger to book into.

  27. Cover your ears, Paul, for what I am about to say. They really should have pulled the trigger and had Penta win the championship. I really like OC but I think his title run has run its course. Winning matches by getting killed and sneaking out a win is fine, but when it happens week after week the same way it becomes too much. There is no way he should be kicking out of what Penta was throwing at him, and at some point it crosses over from funny/entertaining to head shaking. Anyway, the show was *fine* but didn't feel like the knockout they needed as they have another PPV to push in a few days.

  28. I think many of you are overthinking this. Jack Perry, as annoying as he seems to be, as far as anyone is aware hasn't gotten into backstage altercations with much of anyone his entire career. CM Punk seems to be getting into "heated discussions", backstage fights and what have you fairly frequently, like if someone wants to name who in the business is currently doing so more than him they are free to but I can't name anyone off the top of my head. Like approaching half a dozen people haven't been allowed into the building while he works there in the past couple months alone, I assume it was being done so for a reason. I get there is multiple sources with competing stories but like really... if you remove the names from those two descriptions we'd all probably go with the latter being the one most likely to have escalated things to a needless physical degree. I think Perry is mediocre as hell and comes off like a jerk and Punk was in a bunch of matches I thought were swell but we don't really need dozens of reports and different sources and such to divine who is the troublemaker and the problem, the whole "he said/he said" I just don't know which side to believe only really works when both options are similarly likely. In this situation they aren't.

  29. Steamboat came out of retirement late last year for a trios match with FTR against Brock Anderson, Jay Lethal, & Nick Aldis. I thought last week on Collision that Starks still carrying around the strap he used on Steamboat definitely felt like a build to that as a match. I don't know if I see it actually happening, but I definitely hope so now! Very promo heavy show tonight but I enjoyed it and everything that got set up for the future. Matches were all solid. Main event was fun. Laughed at the Dueling Canadian Destroyers match. The last Fear Factor actually had me worried for Orange's reign. Thought Orange ending promo was pretty excellent and look forward to him vs Moxley. I hope Orange retains again but it's certainly up in the air against Moxley. Strong continues to be hilarious. "AAAAAAADAAAAAAAMMMM". Looking forward to the first Better Than You Bay Bay ROH tag defense at All Out. Cool that Shane Taylor/Samoa Joe gets a big stage like that

  30. So, before I say this, let me lay out my criteria for what I believe makes a great promo- Whenever I watch a promo segment, I ask myself 3 questions: 1. “Is the person cutting this promo Ricky Starks?” If the answer is yes, then the promo is good and there’s no reason to deliberate further. If the answer is no, here are two further questions: 2. “Do I believe what this person is saying?” and 3. “Do I believe this person believes what they’re saying?” By that standard, adam Cole was the 3rd best promo in that interminably long segment. Bennett and Taven came off as credible, and Bennett’s delivery was actually pretty strong. Cole came off like he always does; a pubescent trying to sound tough while talking shit on Xbox live. I don’t believe he’s a top guy, and I don’t believe that deep down he believes he’s a top guy. I’ll be curious to see the number he does without MJF to prop him up. The rest of the show… happened. Mox is the fucking best. All the drama with other top guys in the company and he just continues to have top tier tv matches. He’s the best overall performer on American wrestling tv right now, and I’m not sure it’s particularly close.

  39. What I need to work on is moving more and eating better. I'm undoing the exercise and calories burned by takeaways and fizzy drinks. From swimming, I go to Italiano's to order a 12" pizza to take home with me and while waiting for it to be made, have the one pint at the pub two shops downs. Fizzy pop is the biggie as when I lost over 4 stone. I cut that right out. Losing weight would help mentally as well as physically.

  40. Had my first swim for the first time in three weeks as my legs have been bad. Wasn't sure about going for that reason. I just stuck to my shallower section alternating between swimming and resting. As I finished my stroke, I looked round and saw Julie from the Hope team I go with talking to the snide cow I've spoken about before. I swam back to Julie. Turned out the snide cow said: "I see he's not using floats now". Julie told her what I've got, the woman said "Oh" and Julie said "You should feel bad." Hopefully she'll learn a lesson to encourage than cast scorn. Everyone else is supportive. Pay more attention to those than the minimal minority.

  43. It's like they just want to throw every shitty idea at the wall at once. "WBD is adding a compulsory Scratch & Sniff effect for new customers, but only the really sulfuric fart smells." "WBD is implementing new VR tech that punches the wearer in the face every 30 minutes." "WBD is partnering with Classmates.com to remind you that the girl/guy/whoever of your dreams in high school fucked the entire lacrosse team. On your birthday weekend." "WBD is rolling out a new video game on their platform - 'Puppy-Smashing Factory' - and they will allow people to skip ads if they play 20 minutes of the game per day."

  45. Got my first win in Stadium Stampede. Final 3 was Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston and Riho (me). I had the best weapons, most health and full armour. They were unarmed and weakened, and running in fear. It didn't save either one of them.
