  3. I think you have Ricky come up short against MJF the first time, then have him win the tnt title from hobbs, drop it to some heel that needs the heat, then have him win some #1 contender thing and have him be the guy to go over MJF like mid 2023.

  5. a. What a run Grace is on! Loved the finish here. Masha Slamovich is clearly the real deal. b. Chelsea Green is an excellent heel. If rumour is true, I look forward to her gaining a deserved bigger spotlight, but I really hope it plays to her heel strengths. Mickie James has that babyface act down to perfection. James v Green drew me in and provided a fair amount of fun.

  19. Hot take, but I kind of wish they weren't doing a tag match on this upcoming Dynamite and instead made the ROH title match an old school four corner survival match. Give it more of an old ROH flavour and differentiate it somehow from everything else on the card.

  20. Brian Meyers and Joe Hendry for the belt! This got fun after a while and stayed fun for less than a minute, as Joe Hendry is our new Digital Media Champion. Alan Angels is in his first vignette with VBD and it was very IMPACT!y. Speedball Mike Bailey! Trey Miguel! This is very fast in a high-end Lucha Libre way. NICE Silver King Moonsault by Speedball. Jayzeus, Speedball crushes the chest of Miguel. Oh man, did that finish suck. Kenny King gets Speedball disqualified? What the fuck? Taya Valkyrie is acting weirder- like Morticia Addams, when they are trying to fire up JesSICKa to take on Tasha Steelz. So it's great. It's the Konosuke Takeshita of IMPACT!, Bhupinder Gujjar! G Sharpe I am unfamiliar with. He looks good in this, though. Gujjar hits some cool things before winning with the GARGOYLE SPEAR! YAY! GUJJAR IS BACK! More JesSICKa vignettes! She's drinking because she is reading ODB's book! It's Chelsea Green! It's Mickie James! Hey! They are having a 1975 Mid-Atlantic studio match. I back their play to go one hundred percent old school one hundred percent! Deonna Purrazzo GETS THROWN OUT! And the crowd GOES NUTS! I'm thinking that is my current favorite thing not having to do with anything in the ring in wrestling currently. It's like a manager in baseball getting thrown out of the game, but it's always the visiting team. They have a very convoluted spot 9 count spot. This is good, as you would think. There is a very elongated ref bump. GREAT nearfall after an UnPrettier by Green! James gets the pin by countering a Missile Dropkick into a roll-up! That was some old school wrestling. It's Johnny Swinger! It's Bully Ray! I don't think I've seen Billy Ray Dudley wrestle since his TNA run. I remember it was good. Oh! It was Zicky Dice who gets beaten in ten seconds. Moose puts Bully Ray through a table postmatch. So that WAS Chelsea Green's last match in IMPACT! I heard she was going to the WWE. It's Gisele Shaw! It's Jordynn Grace! I assume this will be STIFF! Both of these folks will lay it in. Oh yeah! They are laying it in. NICE Spinebuster by Grace. Grace bumps BIG to the floor! This match is great as they beat the hell out of each other. Shaw channels Wahoo McDaniel and makes with the Knife Edged Chops! Oh man, Gisele Shaw is FUCKING LAYING IT IN and Jordynn Grace is LAYING IT THE FUCK IN! I see that the Masha Slamovich match has influenced Grace's outlook when it comes to the stiffness level to be achieved. This match is fucking great. GNARLY DDT by Shaw! GREAT nearfall on a fucking CRAZY Superplex Into A Jackhammer. GREEAT nearfall on a Gory Bomb by Grace! Shaw hits a beautiful Backbreaker into a Flatliner FOR TWO! Grace hits a Powerbomb into a Grace Driver FOR THE WIN! That match was fucking great. POSTMATCH! MASHA RETURNS! SLAMOVICH NORTHERN LIGHTS BOMBS JORDYNN GRACE ON A WAD OF CHAIRS! OH FUCK YEAH! So fucking great.

  28. Well, that was a good episode. Tormenta is the best wrestler in WOW and Princess Aussie is good so this was probably the best match since the start of WOW 3.0. Chantilly Chella and BK Rhythm was good general wrestling. Holidead and Chainsaw are fun and the match against Kandi Krush and Keta Rush was fine. But yeah- they should keep putting Tormenta in the main event. It's about time Princess Aussie got a win and the postmatch beatdown was an effective way for Tormenta to keep her heat. Postmatch pairing of Tormenta and Heidi Howitzer is pretty brilliant.

  30. FANTASTIC card! not a single bad fight all night. Has to rank in the top tier, especially of the last ~10 years. capped off with 2 new champs. absolutely crazy. Trizano/Choi was bonkers. that double knockdown to start off the fight was awesome. did UFC address what happened with the scorecards after Karolina/Silvana? what a weird moment. i have Renan Barao as 1st for fastest career decline, but Reyes is sure trying to make that a close fight. THIS is the guy that beat Jon Jones (IMO. of course the judges didn't see it that way). RIP Edgar's career. devastating KO. Poirier/Chandler was edge of your seat stuff. kudos to both men for their toughness. Anderson Silva vs Stephen Bonnar

  31. I had a dream this morning where I was hanging out at some deserted mini-mall and walked in a door where a newly-risen Takayama was taking questions. He had shrunken to about four foot tall but was very nice and shook my hand. That is all. Hey, we can dream, can't we?

  33. Amen. One of my biggest critiques of the 21st century left is that for all of their, "We fight bigotry" bravado, their methodology leaves much to be desired. I think your average rank-and-file liberal means well, but they've been taught to be mocking, dismissive, condescending, and outright hateful to anyone with an opposing opinion. And they've had this moral absolutist view of social issues pressed upon them, so that wearing black face in a Halloween costume draws the same ire as burning crosses. And all any of this does is piss people off and make them defensive, and makes racists backslide further into racism. We're left with everyone getting angrier and angrier on both sides. And angry people are so much easier to control. Whether it's Tucker Carlson or Rachel Maddow directing that anger is besides the point. Two sides of the same coin. Compromise is a necessity to the human condition, but these days everyone wants to be Rorschach. I'm surprised we haven't torn down all the Henry Clay statues...

  35. My seats are in the upper atmosphere, the Webb telescope may have a better view of of me than I will of the ring, but I’ll be there. As someone who became a crotchety old man at 20 I hate that I committed to being out past midnight, but these AEW shows are the only time my brother and I get together and have any real quality time. Plus, this card has fun written all over it.

  36. Watched the NWA PPV as well. Haven't followed the company in a few months, so some of the storylines didn't make sense to me at first. -- A "Hardcore Team War" that's essentially a cibernetico with only two wrestlers in the ring at a time didn't seem to make sense. Neither did two people in the ring and about 12 others out of it (including the "heel security" that did nothing after being introduced). I'm also guessing Christi Jaynes was brought in solely to have chats in Portuguese with May Valentine -- she seems decent in the ring but being absolutely wasted doing the magician's assistant schtick. -- Richards-Corino was good -- liked the end where Richards went immediately to different finishers after a two-count rather than giving a shock face. Would like to see Corino make the move up to Impact, NXT or ROH 2.0 (if it gets TV). Did get a laugh at Joe Galli talking about Corino's father being Stevie Richards (he clearly misspoke and was quickly corrected, but it got a big laugh from me). -- Velvet Sky's announcing reminded me of .... Susan St. James at WrestleMania 2. 3-4 hours of her in Mom mode expressing concern over what's happening around her was too much. -- Too many production bloopers to count -- from the free hour beginning in the middle of a match to entrance music and pre-taped interview segments starting at the wrong time. -- Odinson looks like a Viking and talks like an accountant. -- EC3 put me to sleep, as did his match. Cyon match was dull as watching grass grow. -- Kerry Morton has potential. He does face in peril as well as his dad. Like dad, he may be better as a tag worker. Like Corino, maybe a move to Impact or ROH 2.0 would be a better fit. -- So this Rolando Freeman guy is the love child of Spike Dudley and one of the Fabulous Ones? Announcers made a big deal about him pulling upsets on Cardona and company on TV, but all he did here was take bumps from The Fixers (who I enjoyed -- kind of a low-rent Bear Country). -- Tyrus may be a nice person outside the ring (I have no idea), but giving the belt to a morbidly-obese 49-year-old who gasses out after two minutes is mind-boggling.

  40. I demand between his fights that The Leech become the manager for every Chinese fighter so we can see his fresh ass suits. After seeing her hit pads this week while she was training in Thailand and before that lifting Ngannou up like a small child, I don't think it's possible for me to be more terrified of Weili Zhang.

  42. I wish for everyone to be patient with the Jungle Boy. It's not an easy job, and it is a slow process, but young Jack is clearly honing his craft. Not a blowaway opening talk segment, but good and Christian is always a pleasure. I like the effort being made here to make this special. JB-SoreAss was terrific here in Toronto, and a Steel Cage match between the two is a potential darkhorse. Luchasaurus has been quietly really strong, and consistently so for awhile now. I like a promo that forecasts a match like Pac v Rey Fenix! Penta too! There seems to be a swell of appreciation for B. Cage lately, and for good reason. I suspect some time away was a great way for Brian to re-evaluate his entire game. He's been strong, and will make for a nice opponent to Rick Starks I assume. Comparatively speaking, a Lance Archer v B. Cage bout sounds 'fairly' great too. So so happy to hear Darius Martin is back in the fold. And further excited for AR Fox getting a well earned spot on TV. Stoked for Fox-Serpentico on Monday or Tuesday? AEW Rampage: The College Years is next and offers Lee Moriarty v Hook, and I very much like it! House of Black needs to give Fuego a ripe beating to win back my love! Or... get beaten handily by a few teams (Brody excluded). I'd like for both Buddy and Malakai to watch and study the tape of Bill Alfonso v Beulah McGillicutty in ECW, and then offer up a similar Fonzie type loss to either Trent Baretta or Frankie Kazarian. Or how bout FUEGO! Roosh v Bandido was exciting to look forward to here. It would be great to have this type of Workers bout every Saturday Morning (see Friday) for potential pre-show word of mouth anticipation and excitment. I wish they had let these two Luchadores go a little longer, and dropped another segment (*breathe Tony Khan). I think it's all that it needed. Not entirely a clean bout here, but clean enough to be fine entertainment. I'm okay with a protected finish. Mostly because it tells me they have high hopes for both. Roosh is a wonderful heel, and I have high ceiling hopes for Bandido. He's got some prior business to expect from Chavo I presume? I don't think the Jake Hager-Claudio-Renee segment was entirely successful, but I liked it. The Nyla Rose-Jade angle hasn't been great storytelling, but it's a solid try. It's also clear what a great babyface Jade is becoming. Speaking of great babyfaces, Cassidy continues to be the recognized symbol of excellence in sports entertainment. And AEW continues to grind out these fun shows!

  43. My mom decided a couple months ago she was tired of being pet-free and wanted a older cat. She got two about 8 years old. They were apparently owned by a family whose children constantly chased the cats and had them permanently terrified and hiding. My mom got them and has worked with them. They've gone from being invisible when she's awake to tearing around the house, playing, and climbing on her counters. It's been glorious.
