I should be rooting against the Panthers because of the playoff implications, but I just can't help but root for them. I hate all the "Cam needs to mature" bullshit that's been spouted off over the last few years. No. He just needed a fucking defense and some competent play calling. A couple WRs over 6 ft. tall wouldn't hurt either. This last offseason was the peak of that nonsense, too. Every talking head was praising Kap, Wilson and RG3 while downplaying Cam even though Cam is the only one big enough to play that style for more than a year or two.

The more aggressive fighter isn't necessarily the better fighter. (I know I'm about to open a can of worms, but here I go.) The Carlos Condit/Nick Diaz fight was one guy masterfully picking his spots to strike while avoiding his opponents offense. The entire fight was Condit doing every single thing he wanted to do, but Diaz was the more aggressive fighter. There is no way Diaz should have won that fight despite the fact that it was pretty close. The way to win a close fight is to land more strikes, get more takedowns, and to improve position in the grappling game. We don't really need any more fluke Leonard Garcia wins just because he never stops winging punches. ; )

Watched it again this morning (without sound): Round 1: This was the hard round... they each had a takedown, but GSP was generally busier and had the nice guillotine attempt... I still say it's a GSP round Round 2: Hendricks round Round 3: GSP round Round 4: Hendricks round Round 5: Easy GSP round GSP 48-47, rounds 1,3,5 I think it's quite similar to the Jones/Gus fight in that people were just so SHOCKED to see someone having success against GSP (and Jones in that fight) that they overrated some of the stuff their opponents did.
