  1. Riley Gaines is such a hateful pathetic grifter who wasn’t even close the best woman on her team. Fuck her and the career she’s making out of being a hateful piece of shit. I deal with enough of this trans panic crap daily I don’t need it coming into my fake figuring and yet here we are (Note for those who don’t know: I’m trans af)

  2. My dude, they don't care. I'm not saying this to aim at you or anything, but there are people going "don't they know it's not a real sport?!", and it ignores the simple fact that they don't want LGBTQ folks (and ESPECIALLY trans folks) to be involved in any aspect of life whatsoever. Real sports, fake sports, teaching in schools, working in a job - literally any job - they don't care. I can go into dozens upon dozens of explanations as to why the physiological arguments don't line up and they'll just go "hurr durr durr chromosomes" or "hurr durr durr protect women" because they don't care about any of it. It's buzz word salad because they want us gone. And it doesn't stop at Nyla Rose. Booking another trans person against Nyla and going "ha! Take that!" doesn't solve the problem because that's one of their weasel arguments; that trans people should just compete against each other, knowing full well there aren't enough of us in most situations to do that. The fact that there actually are enough trans wrestlers do to that means the goalposts will then move, and it'll just become WELL THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!! I have a friend who's a librarian, who spoke out about the protests against drag queen story hours. Someone said "why not get a cop or fire fighter to read to the kids" and she said "I tried, they don't show up, drag queens do", and guess what... they would rather have literally nobody read to a kid than a drag queen read to a kid because heaven forbid people have to have a conversation with their child that might make the parent mildly uncomfortable, like being a parent doesn't involve being mildly uncomfortable 95% of the time. Anyway, to make this about wrestling because I'm breaking all kinds of board rules, the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission can go suck a fuck and people should go about their business. If they want to fine AEW for putting a trans wrestler on the show, TK should pay it. And I got news for him, they'll start fining you for having gay wrestlers next because that's the slope we're heading down unless you put a stop to it like right the fuck now.

  3. Moxley challenging Hobbs in Jacksonville is a cool callback to the early days/covid days of AEW when Hobbs first hit the scene and looked to be aligning himself with Moxley.

  4. Yeah I was mid-tangent and my wording went all to heck so thank you for saying this, I meant that if Oklahoma was going to fine Nyla, TK should pay it, but I'm very much in favor of not paying it whatsoever because it's a bullshit sanction for a bullshit rule from a bullshit commission full of bullshit grifters. State commissions don't do a damn thing for wrestlers aside from take their fees each month and a cut of each show's gate. If all they're there for is to collect a cut and do nothing else, get rid of them, especially when they're doing nonsense like this.

  10. TK said on the media call: I'm very happy to be wrong on this. A trios division is so niche it's crazy they've had two sets of championships for it for almost two years now. Now do more unifications. And don't use this as a story device to just re-separate them again.

  11. Deonna Purrazzo is a natural heel. There is nothing about her that says babyface. That is her issue, and not anything she is doing wrong. Her in ring skill set and especially her mic skills seem pretty apparent. Further, she came in as an awkward babyface to challenge a heel champion who is seen by at least 98% of the audience as a babyface. None of that is on Purrazzo. I do sense from her promos that Deonna will be an official heel shortly, so no sweat. Fair enough you didn’t like the match, but Alvarez’s reaction was unnecessary as per usual. His weekly burial of the Division has become plainly obvious for awhile now. Im not sure I understand agreeing with him but seeing ‘More’ as the solution. I like the efforts of many in the Womens Division, but what or who is lighting the world on fire in need of more segments? This argument has been going on since the beginning. Does hindsight tell us Big Swole and the rest of the original division just needed more time? More time should be advocated for performers killing their segments and making the most of their minutes. If you’re clamouring for more from the Division, try ROH on Honorclub. So too anybody in the first three years wanting more - all your favourites are there - Nyla, Diamanté, Velvet, Kiera, Shida, Hirsch etc. I totally agree they should’ve waited on Mone’s debut. But… it is what it is, and we move on, and Mercedes promo was pretty clearly much improved on the previous weeks. That’s a positive sign no matter what the previous folly. If you, very fairly, have disliked much of Mercedes talking like the rest of us, are you sure you have a want for promo battles with Baker? That'd require as big a carry job as the match, but vice versa. No reason to fret, let's just be patient for the healing, and Hayter v Mone will be as wonderful as we both suspect.

  12. I've watched maybe several dozen combat sports events emanating from the state of Oklahoma. This may be the first time I've heard of them having a commission. Maybe it's probably because everyone purposely avoids it and tries running casinos on a reservation (they have the third best Miami behind Florida and Ohio). Now that said, the only thing I would disagree with is paying any type of fine. On that, I would tell them to fuck off because AEW didn't try to sneak it by you. Yes, commission forms are commission forms. However, it ain't drug testing. The promotion knew they had a trans wrestler. You know who also knew? Literally everybody who follows pro wrestling. They didn't sneak it by you. So yeah, you weren't paying attention. Thus, that doesn't justify any punishment. I think this was a few years ago now, but when Patricio Manuel (formerly Patricia Manuel) chose to turn pro after a very lengthy amateur career as a female, Andy Foster didn't put out a press release or any form of communication as the commissioner for California, And you can say, well that's California. Except Andy Foster is from Georgia and as southern as one could get by his accent. Hell, it's probably why out of all the commissions, California has the least shittiest one out of all of them and been the most progressive in terms of fighter safety and necessary rule changes. This is purely driven by, "who can we embarrass and how?" The commissions survive purely off money from other entities. The only way to force change is freezing them out. Continuing to run there is just going to embolden them. I think one of the worst things Tony could do is subject his talent to that anywhere on the globe they run.

  18. Fantastic way to spend an early Thursday morning. Mox promo to open was pretty on point. Big Will v Mox, sign me up! Mercedes Mone promo was a huge improvement and easily earns my thumbs up. Copeland/Willow v Brody/Julia was a whole lotta fun. Willow's interactions with Brody were particularly great. Cope's consistency is second to none. Dude brings his working boots every time out. Samoa Joe promo was excellent. Swerve's retort was fair. I have questions whether Strickland's mic work is at the level of a World Champion. Not saying it isn't. The camera work during these promos was a bit ugly, but who's counting. I loved the hijacking of the Bucks/FTR package into the pre-match Bucks/Okada promo. I like seeing them poke at the boss. Bucks/Okada v Garcia/Penta/Pac was wonderful television. Garcia's t-shirt was terrible/great! La-la-loved the Superkicks into the Rainmaker finish. Okada continues to look like a king. The post match beatdown and save added nicely to the quarter hour. I felt a lot softer on the Jericho/Hook/Taz promo. I'm pleased middle of the road/jeered babyface Jericho is going towards his proper heat now. He was good here. Unfortunately, this segment kinda reminded how green Hook still is. Mariah May v Deonna was really good til the kinda lame if passable finish. Deonna's mat work is sensational. I love May's offense. I wish they toned down the Toni switches to black & white. It's great for the entrance and promos, but the switches during the match look so silly. Loved seeing Rosa smash Luther. Then Toni. The whole post match angle was spot on. White/Asses promo was terrific. Jay has come a long way with his mic game. Nice flow. The Assclaimed promo that followed smelt foul. Billy outing himself as an abusive father was an interesting choice. This is a sad, sad act. OC v Shane Taylor was strong in-ring, but this multiple cornermen bullshit is awful. At least Matt Taven wasn't out there mugging for the camera and chewing up the scenery. Spandex Taylor was great here. I loved the post match hooded Trent chair attack. This OC/Trent angle is building some nice heat. I'm All in for what will no doubt be a pretty awesome bout. Or selection of bouts. Ospreay v Claudio was a goddamn dream come true. Nothing but love for this beautiful violent artwork. So many great counters! The post match Callis Family/Ospreay/BCC angle was terrific. Glad to have Mox back in the fold. Look at that incredible line-up for Dynasty. The Joe/Swerve angle to close was one of the better go home angles they've ever done. The Swerve stomp on the Job Squad made for an excellent visual. Superstoked for the PPV. And Collision. And Rampage baby. 'Tickle Him' indeed! AEMFNDub roolin' the world!

  19. Logan Knight (an Oklahoma-based LGTBQ+ wrestler) is taking action against the Athletic Commision: https://twitter.com/LoganKnightPro/status/1781062546914423102 Specifically, he's campaigning to get Native American land in the state exemption from Commission oversight. And he wants people who agree with him on this issue to let the OKC know about it by emailing [email protected]

  24. I love sports more than almost anything but even I'm past the breaking point with literally 75% of the ads for televised sporting event being fucking gambling. I'm doubly salty about this as a former Online Poker Enjoyer who watched the DOJ treat that like it was akin to a cocaine smuggling ring just 15 years ago, but now that the NFL and the MLB get their own pies, oh hey it's a miracle gambling is good now. Fuck you.

  31. The confusion online however, is that people mix up WCW 2000 and WCW Mayhem 2. Both were two different games. WCW 2000 was going to made by EA Canada, and Mayhem 2 was going to be made by AKI under EA. I think AKI redone all the animations for Def Jam. WCW 2000 would just been the PS2 ported version of Backstage Assault. https://forums.lostmediawiki.com/thread/7803/wwf-backlash-n64-mayhem-2000

  35. This is his first match/fight I believe. He met with Vince & Shane about coming to WWE in 92/93 but says he couldn't do it because of his contract with American Gladiators, then met Terry Taylor about coming in to WCW in 2000 when they did the crossover with Battle Dome but then WCW got sold and he said WWE were still unhappy with him for not coming in the first time, so he wasn't brought along. He was married to WCW valet Midajah at the time.

  40. Our company president went on a rampage and fired most of the people who didn’t want to be here anyway (quiet quitters, culture warriors, people who wouldn’t come back to in-person work, the “all big companies are evil” set, etc.) so now those guys and gals suddenly care about their jobs and want me to intervene on their behalf I mean, if I was going to do that, I would probably have done that last week when our prez pulled me into a meeting about some of the bad actors in my department. Beyond that, well, my typical response goes something like “well, ordinarily I would, but do you remember that time when you went on social media and called me a moronic chud for supporting my employer? No? How about that time when you wished death on a coworker for voting Republican? Not ringing a bell? How about when you…..?” I’m really curious what people expect to happen when they run to social media to bash their employers, clients, coworkers, etc. I mean, I know Gen-Z’ers don’t believe in consequences, but some of us older folk still do. Anyway, company is better off today than it was last week, so I am content for now.

  41. Whoever destroys the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship will be a face for life with me. I hate everything about that fucking thing. The shape of the main plate, the shape is too small, the side played are too big, the strap is too long. What makes it worse is how it replaced the IWGP Heavyweight Championship V4 which is in my top three of all time with Big Gold and the WWF Winged Eagle Championship. I know I've said this before but not for a while, needed to get it off my chest again. Cheers.

  43. The wife graduates and gets her Bachelor's degree in less than a month, and she's already got a job lined up for next year. Which means that I can finally (!) drop the PT weekend gig that's been drainging the life out of me since the beginning of the year. She gets paid by her current job through July and will also get the first chunk of her incentive bonus from the new place that month, so I originally decided to hold out until then. But, this past weekend was especially rough, so now I'm hoping I can last that long. I told my cousin that I'm debating using the CM Punk line when I put in my notice and get the inevitable "Why?" "I'm hurt, I'm old, I'm tired..........."
