2021 INDIE WRESTLING

Recommended Posts

If I can actually watch this show before they run their next one, that's probably the biggest news of all.

Edit: Looking at the speculation now... I would rather it be on Highspots than on Fite.

I guess he's the final Labour of Jericho then.

Jericho's final Labor should be a "Dragon Gauntlet" where he has to go through Insane Dragon, Ultimo Dragon, Super Dragon, Retail Dragon, and Dragon Dragon.

Difference is that most carnies wouldn't be dumb enough sign a deal that ended up unfavorable, try to beg out of it and get told no, say "Fuck it" and just pretend it no longer exists and get hit with a slam dunk lawsuit that's probably going to end up bankrupting the guy.

Oh absolutely.  Sorry if my initial post was vague.  I meant Lauderdale was being carny by playing the "no, I'm telling the truth!  We worked Meltzer, bro!" card.  If I was creating "shit carnies say" bingo, that would definitely be on it.  I don't think Meltzer is the be all end all, but I believe in Occam's Razor, and when I'm trying to figure out who's lying between him and a wrestling promoter, the wrestling promoter loses 11 times out of 10 ?

Right with you on the GCW/IWTV lawsuit.  We were discussing it a few pages back and it's insane.  I'm about to try Lauderdale's tactics on my car loan, just gonna call Carmax and tell them I don't like the terms of the deal and I'm going to just stop paying them.

Jervis Cottonbelly (the good one, not the sex pest that was a mod on SquaredCircle) and some other people are "reviving" Bar Wrestling, but not calling it Bar Wrestling (obviously). Well, kind of. The first show is called Raise the Bar. AJ Gray clarified that he was told Joey Ryan has no involvement in this, and Danny Devine specifically said "that scumbag has NOTHING to do with this show".

I'll be incredibly disappointed in Jervis if it turns out Joey Ryan is involved, but for the moment it seems he isn't.

I filmed my first "theatrical" style wrestling match last night, in an actual scrapyard. It's where the Totally Arctic Wrestling ring is housed and the company (Northwind) is a major sponsor up here in Inuvik, Northwest Territories.

I haven't been this banged up since I worked three hardcore matches in one night to win Super Evil in 2017 in Enderby. Where's my stunt doubles?

What's the speculation?  I'm out of the loop.  Is it some deal where PWG would release videos on a streaming service without waiting a full year?  As a guy who buys all their DVDs, I'd definitely sub to Highspots if the wait was reduced to a month or so.

I was just reading the replies and quote tweets on the SoCal Uncensored tweet that Jiji mentioned (linked it below).  It's some sort of faster way to watch shows but they're still not going to stream live - so yes, everyone is pretty much assuming they'll be on some streaming service sooner.

About two hours. It's being edited this week and should be up on Saturday. I'll post a link, here. It felt like it's gonna be good.

Can you give us a ballpark estimation of how long the actual match will end up being, out of that 2 hour material?

I always thought it was kind of a wack weapon to use because I've never had a sharp one around the house. And then Jericho's arm got sliced last night and my opinion changed...

I thought Jericho actually bladed his arm. It's why there was a long cut to Gage (like almost 15 seconds) before you saw Jericho with his arm bleeding.

I just lost my shit picturing Gage, despondent over two high-profile losses to Cardona and Jericho, doing an angle where he goes back to his roots. You know, death matches in backyards, bingo halls, casino ballrooms... oh wait.

Good question! I'm not editing this one, so I'm unsure. We have to reshoot the finish because we filmed these Saturday Night SKODEN episodes out of sequence and in the Season Finale (episode six), it makes several references to something we didn't shoot the other day (for episode five). Hopefully that'll be taken care of tonight or tomorrow. One plus of living above the Arctic Circle is that "Midnight Sun" gives you A LOT of daylight to shoot shit from May to September.

Waiting for Night 1 of the SCI Tournament to begin and I must say the video with Steve Corino and Allison Danger setting up his match against his son Colby is tremendous.   Never mind that it Colby looks almost exactly like ECW champ Steve has morphed into this Bruiser Brody like figure with his hair

Really good first round of matches in the SCI Tournament tonight.   Logan Creed vs Jon Davis was this insane mix of two big hosses switching between beat the shit out of each other and then blowing people minds with flippy shit,  Daniel Makabe vs Adam Priest was a great technical match,  Brett Ison vs Jaden Newman, and many  others.   Some of the 2nd round matches announced was Arik Royal vs Daniel Makabe in their rubber match, AC Mack vs Jeremy Wyatt, Jon Davis vs Alex Kane which could be insane, and Daniel Garcia vs Jaden Newman

I skipped to Makabe/Priest because I love those two. They did go the technical route which kinda lost me at parts, but these two do complement eachother in great ways. I hope they fight forever just based on that Big Unit that Makabe surprisingly landed.

Makabe/Royal 2 tonight. I'm hoping Makabe can land a Big Unit for the 1-2-3 this time.

edit - on a different topic, why is Tom Lawlor still on the indies? That guy could save WWE, imo...
