Gonzo Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 I'm sure everyone's seen this one already, but I'll toss it here anyhow. I like Disturbed and think they've done a decent job with the cover songs they've done, but this is easily their best one, IMO. 1
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Between "Seven Nation Army" and this, Haley Reinhart is rapidly becoming Post Modern Jukebox's MVP. It's good to see her doing well. She was woefully under-appreciated during her American Idol run. While she clearly wasn't the pop or country star they were looking for, they'd have you think the girl had no talent at all. Which, quite obviously, isn't true. 1
Chaos Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I don't know if this would fall under "odd and unusual," but Father John Misty covered John Lennon's "God" last week. Although, Tillman has a whole canon of interesting covers out there as of late.

Which, quite obviously, isn't true. There are some folks who didn't fit in the musical mold that the shows want but just need some of the exposure from the show to help the take off. Like Chris Mann from the Voice - being basically an opera singer - he was never going to win. But he ended up in the Finals, got in the Top 10 of the Classical charts, got TWO PBS specials and now is The Phantom in the North American Phantom of the Opera tour.
Zimbra Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I generally dig the Puppini Sisters and their Andrew Sisters-esque schtick.
JLSigman Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 A very different and cool version of CCR's "Bad Moon Rising". I love the techno-dystopian feel of it.
cool arrow Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Ooh, Ghost Riders in the Sky! That reminds me...
Curt McGirt Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 31:48 of this they cover the Doors' "Not to Touch the Earth". Somehow it works perfectly, as do all the rest of the songs. They also have a hardcore punk covers record if you wanna look it up EDIT: "Ghost Riders"! That reminds me...
zev Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 (edited) Inspired to post this due to above Iron Man post, and interesting in seeing if I could get youtube to work on the new board from my end of the interwebs. NSFW due to language. Edited to add: skip ahead 3 minutes or so to avoid Amanda Palmer's political comments and having to restart the song. Edited March 30, 2016 by zev

Lazlo Woodbine Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 I like the way this swells and contracts. Really though, the best weirdo Bowie covers are all by Momus - There are loads more.
ChrisM Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I'll bet you never knew you wanted a mashup of Seasons in the Sun, and The Hustle. 1
RIPPA Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I am little surprised at myself for not having posted 2cellos already
(BP) Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Someone screamed "FREEBIRD!" during Dylan's encore at the Greek the other night, and he obliged.
