Cobra Commander Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Jake's gonna have to lock the Warrior in a room of snakes again 8
Zero Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Eve talked about it on the MMA Hour, and it sure sounded like Matt Hardy may have been asleep even before the choke. (AKA on a lot of drugs)
odessasteps Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Apparently George Scott passed away - at least according to a Mike Johnson tweet I just saw The first few minutes of Meltzer's show last night was discussing George Scott, his booking of Crockett and working for Vince.
Tromatagon Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I hope Dave does a full obit for him and Mae. They'll be great reads.
Cobra Commander Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 i'll be honest, I thought George Scott was also the booker of that ringless show last year. Nope. That was George South. Oops.
scraylo187 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Now I just want Eve to come back and actually start choking Divas out with the Matt Hardy Choke.
Spontaneous Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 If we get a legends match at Mania I would so prefer it be Roberts-Warrior than Piper-Hogan. The crazy old man promos... Torres choking out Hardy is funny but also sad. Really sad. Wow.
Bustronaut Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Warrior had a hell of a limp in that 2K14 promo early last year, even if he did the best to try to hide it. Probably no matches in his future.
Spontaneous Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Do you not believe that he is empowered by the power of the Warrior gods above him, channeling their spirits through him and sending him on his mission to conquer everything in his path?!
sydneybrown Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 To be fair to Hardy he was probably choking on powdered donuts before Eve applied the hold. It may have LOOKED like powdered donut, but it wasn't powdered donut... 1
Casey Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 What did Jake say about Warrior, anyway? Can't be too far off base. And as far as that situation goes... I rather them induct a guy who smokes crack and an alcoholic than someone who's a bigot and hates homosexuals. Let's go for the full monty and get Virgil up in that HOF, son!
Tromatagon Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 He made a poisonous snake bite his face, he didn't have to say anything 2
Cristobal Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 What did Jake say about Warrior, anyway? Called him an asshole without much talent.
Matt D Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I hope Dave does a full obit for him and Mae. They'll be great reads. He did a brief one for Mae and it didn't seem like there was all that much to say.
Tromatagon Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 The life and times things don't really count as obits, so I was hoping we would see more.
Guest Stefanie Without Stefanie Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 http://youtu.be/1Gjkkrarqys The world needs more Bobby Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon playing Double Dare.
Ace Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I thought he always had a really good rep? Who doesn't like him? Hogan, apparently. He & Dick Ebersol got him fired. He didn't understand prioritizing TV over house shows, according to Meltzer.
Curt McGirt Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 The link isn't working so go Wiki George Scott. Pretty interesting, I didn't know his whole history. I don't recall a lot of that Stampede stuff being in the actual Stampede book which I've read several times, maybe it's just my shot memory. Who replaced him in WWF, Patterson?

And his 1989 promotion of the flair/steamboat clash match got him removed as booker.

LooseCannon Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Why is Cody Rhodes' Disaster Kick named as such?
RandomAct Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I think it was originally called the "Beautiful Disaster" when he was doing the clear mask, Dr Doom thing and it's just evolved from there. Names for wrestling moves could be a really good topic actually - The long standing debate over the DDT being named after the poison or being short hand for "Damien's Dinner Time". Why was Hogan's leg drop "Atomic"? Why was a technical wrestler from Canada locking people in a "Sharpshooter" when that name sounds like it should be for the finishing move of the Smoking Gunns? Because he was a "hitman"? 2
nate Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 A "hitman" using a "Sharpshooter" always seemed logical to me. I could never get what the fuck "Sweet Chin Music" had to do with a male stripper ... although, I would imagine that it would be percussion-heavy (salacious!!!). I always appreciated that, when asked what "DDT" might stand for, Roberts would reply, "The end." 2
