on the subject of the Jericho Cruise

Hey! Another Jericho Cruise right at the same time as another Covid surge! Hopefully all of the dudes going to that sausage fest mask up.

Narrator: They didn’t mask up.

Checking Wrestletix and the Bossier city show has 3000+ available tickets out of 4452 seats with 16 days left. So they might need to move this to Irish McNeil’s

Don't worry. They're going to have ticket discounts at the Popeyes.

Now that I think about it, the Raising Cane's has the naming rights for the arena in Baton Rouge. They would be today's equivalent of 1980s Popeyes probably. Hell, with all the chicken tender discussion I've been seeing, they might as well just throw in a coupon for every drive thru order.

Bossier City feels like the place where they need to start giving out tickets in the casino to fill it up. Unless that part of the local economy is struggling

I hope it’s not like 1986 where the hookers can’t get work.

It's interesting boxing made a living on that throughout the 70s (when more boxing started moving into Vegas from the east coast), 80s, and 90s, but most boxers with even decent name recognition now cannot fill up a moderate size casino ballroom. That casino buy well significantly has dried up since the days of WrestleMania IV and V, when Trump had all his properties booming, and when Las Vegas was trying to change its image.

I drove past one of the 9 remaining Bennigans locations last month and thought I had gone back in time somehow.

There's a Ponderosa that's a 2 hour drive from me that's open seasonally because it's in a resort area (Wisconsin Dells) and I tell myself I should just find a rental for a weekend and go there for old times sake and maybe get a day pass at a water park.

The only thing I know about Bossier City is that they've hosted a leg of the Womens Volleyball Nations League (a yearly international volleyball competition with your standing helping your chances at Olympic qualification) for the last 2 or 3 years and every volleyball fan is confused because it's sparsely attended and the closest international airport is Dallas/Ft. Worth which is a good drive and it's apparently not a happening city and the only thinking is that there must be some big time grift and kickbacks going on.

I think the mean way to describe Bossier City is "where the white people moved when they left Shreveport"

Not to mention the show in Bossier City is head to head with the Rumble.. so idk.. if they have to be close to New Orleans... I guess they couldn't get a favorable booking in Biloxi or Pensacola or hell... just put a Collision on the beach in Panama City in January and see how regrettable of an idea that is

I wish there was still some Bennigans around just for their Monte Cristo sandwich.    But I digress

Remember when Chris Jericho mentioned when talking about MVP that he doesn't fight jobbers.  Well apparently the reason why is because he already got his ass knocked out by him on the Jericho Cruise in 2020.    For someone with a massive ego, this month has not been a good one for him.

There was a Bennigan’s pretty much around the corner from me up here the the far-flung DC exurbs, but the owners abandoned the franchise agreement, renamed, but somehow kept the menu the same.

Man, I've been in Wisconsin almost 20 years and I still haven't been to the Dells. I feel like I should go once just for the experience.

Jeez, Ponderosa, that takes me back. Hell I thought Shoney's was long gone until I found out about Steiner buying one.

What did they rename to? Ennigan's? Bennie's?

Shoney's is every single highway exit in the eastern half of Tennessee. I would go so far as to call it oppressive.

When I was younger, I would notice that there was quite a few in Mississippi. However, I haven't been to one since the late 90s/early 2000s.

That Collision in Bossier City going up against the Rumble...that would've been a great weekend to do a special live Rampage on Friday night along with a taped Collision.

Agreed - even if they didn't take your route (which I think is strongest) booking smaller venues on WWE PPV Saturdays might make sense moving forward. I think it might also behoove them to try and keep Collision in A-markets, or as close as possible, to have a larger base to draw from (no disrespect to 'the white people that used to live in Shreveport.') Either that, or go the opposite direction, use the Saturday to your advantage, and book college buildings to try and draw the 'hey, a thing on campus!' crowd. I get that they like NBA buildings, but as things stand now, this one is probably gonna need to have a lot of those ROH/Dark tight shots
