Cristobal Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Yeah but that's the Natinals. They're cursed.
The Nature Boy Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Teams really need to stop using player pictures for calendars. Use historic pictures or pictures of the stadium. See my posts about what happened when the Nats tried that. They're the Nationals. Set your expectations low.
Ryan Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 They can't get any lower, I'd probably tear something if I tried.
RIPPA Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 Girardi confirmed that Chapman will be the closer Of course - that is going into Spring Training and before any suspension
Joe Lucia Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Wei-Yin Chen gets 5/80, maxing at 6/96 from the...Marlins? And of course, there's not a no trade clause, so he won't be there in 2018.
Nice Guy Eddie Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Chen to the Marlins certainly came out of nowhere. I wouldn't be shocked if he's shipped out by 2017. His contract includes an opt-out after the second year.
Joe Lucia Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Anthopolous officially hired as VP of Baseball Ops by the Doyers
Infinit Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Great for AA...I'm happy he landed a pretty good gig.
odessasteps Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Alex was on radio tonight and said he will part of brain trust in LA. Not just being Canadian scout etc
Nice Guy Eddie Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Gerardo Parra to the Rockies. 3 yr/27.5 mil
grilledcheese Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Dodgers make a couple deals, Joe Wieland to SEA for an IF prospect, and then Tyler Olson and Ronald Torreyes to NYY for Rob Segedin and a PTBNL or cash.
Serious Darius Bagfelt Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Alex was on radio tonight and said he will part of brain trust in LA. Not just being Canadian scout etc Some people are saying he is going to be learning more about and eventually take over the analytics
RIPPA Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 Well looks like making an offer to Yoenis Cespedes worked Chris Davis returns to the Os for 7 years, $161 million (No trade and no opt-out) I now begin my laughing
glfpunk Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 That's a lot to pay for someone who strikes out so much.
The Man Known as Dan Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Also a lot to give a guy who hit sub 200 a year ago. That contract is awful.
Joe Lucia Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 The worst part is that they were bidding against themselves.
Craig H Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 HOLY SHIT! First thought: Is Jim Hendry working for the Orioles?
Jiji Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 That instantly becomes one of the worst contracts in the league. Madness.
Kuetsar Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Isn't Peter Angelos a real tight ass with $$$ too?
sabremike Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Please God let Cespedes fall back into our laps!!!
RIPPA Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 HA! THEY WENT BOBBY BONILLA ON THE DAVIS CONTRACT!!! 2:44pm: Via ESPN’s Buster Olney (on Twitter), Davis will receive $17MM per season over the life of the contract. He will then receive $3.5MM a year from 2023 through 2032, then $1.4MM a year from 2033 through 2037. There will be no interest on that $42MM total in deferred money. The length of the deferrals in Davis’ contract is unusual, calling to mind the Mets’ 25 years in deferred payments to former star Bobby Bonilla. Obviously, though, their effect is that they reduce the present-day value of Davis’ contract, even though he will, in fact, receive a total of $161MM. 3
Nice Guy Eddie Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Ian Kennedy to the Royals 5 yrs/70 million with an opt out clause after year 2 The going rate for mediocrity is really insane.
Nice Guy Eddie Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Bobby Bonilla Day is July 1st. I wonder when Chris Davis Day will be.
