Death From Above Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Was kind of surprised Saidy Janko has left Manchester United for Celtic. I thought he was supposed to be really well regarded at Manchester as one of their better prospects, but I guess he wants some playing time. And Adam Matthews is leaving Celtic for Sunderland so there's 1 + 1 at right back.
SirFozzie Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 4-0 USA over Guatemala in final gold cup warmup. Score a bit flattering to the US, but many players looked good
ChesterCopperpot Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Poor Micronesia were eliminated from the Pacific Games with losses of 30-0 against Tahiti, 38-0 against Fiji and 46-0 against Vanuata
Jiji Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Raheem Sterling should be shot out of a cannon from Liverpool to Manchester.
SolidGoldBomb Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 That reminds me of this man How many countries are in this country?
RIPPA Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Oh My God Preki becoming the Leicester manager is actually happening!
AxB Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 So Spurs are going to host NFL games at the Air Dubai Arena (or whatever it ends up being called), but the FA are saying they still want NFL games at Wembley even after that, and Shahid Khan wants the Jags to play home games at Craven Cottage because he owns Fulham as well... They're going to have 16 overseas games a year eventually, aren't they? For anyone wondering when the Premiership (Fuck you Levy, it's not called the fucking EPL) is going to reciprocate and play regular season games in America, here's when that's going to happen: NEVER.
odessasteps Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Why play the 39th game here when teams can make $$$ just with pre'season tours and the charlie stilatano cup?
AxB Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Yeah, the only reason the NFL plays regular season games over here is because when they played pre-season friendlies, people stopped coming. When the 49ers were at Wembley a bit ago they had Jerry Rice in the studio, and he was saying he did set foot on the Wembley turf for two plays once. Whereas when big (or even not that big) Premiership teams go overseas to play meaningless reserve games, they sell shitloads of tickets. Asia Cup next week. Arsenal vs Singapore XI, Everton vs Stoke City. Winners play each other in the final.Really want to see what a Stoke vs Arsenal friendly (on neutral ground, no less) looks like. According to Yesterday's papers, Raheem Sterling is refusing to go on Liverpool's pre-season tour and has told Rodgers he won't play for him again. According to last month's papers, Ashley Cole was trying to hang out with famous Canadian rapper Drake, but a Playboy Bunny beat him (Cole, not Drake) up for being a twat.
Red is Dead Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Sterling's going to get a rep which is going to fuck him over later in his career. Play nice, young man; it goes a long way.
Cristobal Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Couldn't agree more. After all, remember the last Liverpool striker who earned a rep? Where'd he end up, anyway?
Death From Above Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I don't really know if Sterling is good enough to go full Carlos Tevez and get away with it.
Red is Dead Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 You can hear the HWEEEEEEEEEEEY from the crowd...
Red is Dead Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Couldn't agree more. After all, remember the last Liverpool striker who earned a rep? Where'd he end up, anyway? chelsea.

It hasn't been called the Premiership in 8 years - and this will be the last season with sponsorship - going forward it will be known only as The Premier League
Death From Above Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I realize the FIFA rankings are the juiciest of low hanging fruit at all times, but the new edition is particularly so without even getting out of the top 10. Romania are a top 10 team in the world? Since when? Wales are above Spain? What? Maybe this is all part of a plan to get people to stop saying bad things about the people at FIFA, and just return to making fun of FIFA in general.
odessasteps Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 From various folks on twitter, wales vaulted into the top ten by not playing friendlies, which lower your coefficient. And winning of course.
cubbymark Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 This is how the Canadian wishes he had finished that failed strike: http://fat.gfycat.com/CoarseObeseElephant.webm
AxB Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 It hasn't been called the Premiership in 8 years - and this will be the last season with sponsorship - going forward it will be known only as The Premier League In the UK, if anyone changes the name of anything ever, people will still use the old one for decades. Mars changed the name of the Marathon choccy bar to Snickers in 1990. Someone asked me if we sold Marathons last week. You'd be surprised how many people still start to say Division One before correcting themselves. With the Championship, League One and League Two, most people still use Second Division, Third Division and Fourth Division, because they changed the names too many times and only the old ones make sense.
Death From Above Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Calling them first/second/third/fourth division is really just an issue of common sense to me. They can name the fourth Division the Biblical Hellfire Division if they want. It's still the fourth division. 1
Pete Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 NYRB send Dane Richards on loan to Indy Eleven. Apparently they're a soccer team and not a wrestling fed.
Chaos Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 NYRB send Dane Richards on loan to Indy Eleven. Apparently they're a soccer team and not a wrestling fed. You want to talk confusing. Let's talk about all of these non-MLS US leagues and which ones have hierarchy over the others.
