SolidGoldBomb Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 That was the best Offense i've ever seen in an MLS game, but it was typical MLS Defending.
Death From Above Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Stoke City add Ibrahim Affelay, continuing their plan of "sign people that don't work out at Barcelona". Honestly, there are worse systems.
Jiji Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 Picking up scraps from the top clubs is a legitimately good transfer policy. They buy too many new, shiny toys and replace just fine players. And then there's guys like Affelay, who never get a chance but wanted to sign for the likes of Barcelona or Madrid so they can say they did it.
Pete Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Yes, that's Pirlo correctly tipping Saunders on where Kaka's going to shoot his free kick. Stupendous.
Guest Edwin Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Awesome. No wonder Saunders was able to touch the ball so it could hit the post.
sabremike Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 That was the wildest game I've ever been to live. Pirlo was ungodly over all day long... amused that he's already out there making an impact while Lamps has yet to log a single minute over a year after his signing. 32000 with the upper deck opened again. But CHIVAS EAST AMIRITE? You've got the losing to the existing rival part down at least.
sabremike Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Red Bulls add another Wright-Phillips.I want their dad to pull a Gordie Howe and come out of retirement and play with his sons because, well, why the hell not?
RIPPA Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Mexico cans Miguel Herrera after he supposedly punched a reporter after the Gold Cup Finals The Mexico Football Federation voted on Tuesday to sack coach Miguel Herrera following an alleged incident that took place at the Philadelphia International Airport following El Tri's Gold Cup win over Jamaica. "After listening to all my colleagues who are part of this federation, and reasoning I have made the decision to take Miguel Herrera out of the national team," said incoming federation president Decio de Maria in a statement on Tuesday. "It is not a simple decision, but it is the correct one. "Matches never finish and as public figures we have to keep that in mind," De Maria said. "Everyone has had an opinion but as I said, our values have to be kept and no one can be above the type of situation we saw on Monday at the Philadelphia airport." De Maria said the federation would take its time in search of a replacement and did not announce a timeline or reveal any names, he also said he hoped to avoid having to name an interim coach. "Regarding a coaching replacement, we have to go out and look for coaches," he said. "Whatever decision we take will be criticized and analyzed but we will make a decision that allows all of us to go to Russia in 2018." Mexican television commentator Christian Martinoli on Monday accused Herrera of assaulting him in the TSA line at the airport, despite denials from airport officials that any such incident was captured on airport security cameras. Herrera had just led Mexico to a bittersweet Gold Cup victory that included a controversial 2-1 semifinal win over Panama.
Pete Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 So Herrera's El Tri future is staked on the Gold Cup, he wins and gets sacked anyway. 1
SolidGoldBomb Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 So a tree fell in the woods but no one saw it...and he gets sacked anyway. Well, one more for old times sake 1
Guest Edwin Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 That Chelsea vs. Barcelona match felt nothing like a friendly. Fun stuff. America vs. Benfica not so much so far.
Death From Above Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Yeah Chelsea/Barcelona was really fun. Barcelona should have to play their reserve defense more often.
Pete Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Inside the spectacular notebook of BBC commentator Nick Barnes. 1
odessasteps Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I know last year, MIB regualrly talked to Commentators about their spotter's sheets. I think Arlo White's was like a million post-it notes.
ReiseReise Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Dortmund is the first German team from the top division to play a competitive match, winning their away game in the EURO league at Wolfsberger AC. Hard to tell if Tuchel has imprinted any sort of style on the team so far, looked a lot like the Klopp BVB. It will be interesting to see how the squad developes. Meanwhile, Sampdoria Genova lost their home game 0-4 against Novi Sad from Serbia is facing elimination. Novi Sad only secured one point in the first two matches of the Serbian domestic season, which - in context - means Sampdoria lost to a team which is either not in great form yet or they lost to a team which only focused on EURO league.
Pete Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Dzeko off to Roma. Gonna miss him but it's the best for him in the long run.
AxB Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Meanwhile Ashley Young('s agent) is crying in the papers every week about how he doesn't know if Man U still want him or not (Clue: They don't), because they aren't negotiating his contract extension. So basically he's trying to get other teams to bid for him, but nobody else wants him either.
Death From Above Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Dzeko off to Roma. Gonna miss him but it's the best for him in the long run. Also looks like Jovetic to Inter Milan? I mean, at least they didn't buy Wilfred Bony just because they can and he'll actually get to play. Tottenham continue to be a minor seller (Chiriches went a couple days ago, Capoue went to Watford) with no real indication of buying much. I have no particular expectation for this season at the moment. I get the feeling the "hey we are getting a new stadium in a couple years" announcement is just supposed to hold us over for a while.
Jiji Posted August 2, 2015 Author Posted August 2, 2015 Holy shyit, that Benteke half volley. https://vine.co/v/eHMaUiz0wKP How do we post Vines properly?
