Pete Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Atlanta FC 1864 Inverness Caledonian Atlanta Atlanta Young Boys I'd settle for them posing like this.
Death From Above Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 The Germany/France game has been really good. How the hell did Colombia beat France?
AxB Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 See, Atlanta Rovers doesn't even sound that bad. Whereas Atlanta Albion is just ridiculous.
MarcosLoura Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Yooooooo Portugal 2 - 0 Germany on the under-21 Euro!!!!!! Yoooooooooooo
Death From Above Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Yeah I've got it on. Portugual large and in charge so far.
ReiseReise Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 The way Germany played the tournament so far I could have seen them losing this match, but Portugal hasn´t looked as if they could score four against any team this tournament. Big thumbs up for the U21 from Portugal. Because of numerous complications, I missed the first half, came back at the start of the second and saw a Portuguese goal right away, which was defended horribly by the German team, so I can´t really say anything about the game.
MarcosLoura Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Yooooo 4 nil yooooooooo Bernardo Silva player of the tournament yoooo (of course Benfica sold him just after 1 game on the main squad but ok).
ReiseReise Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 It´s 5-0 now, and if Portugal tried, they could be up much higher. Portugal seems to use a lot of diverse tactics, looked almost to be using a 5-3-2 when on defense, then switching to a different formation when attacking. Looked like a 3-5-2. Sounds like a slightly better way to do the switch from defense to offense compared to the 4-5-1 to 3-5-2 switch the Dutch did at last year´s World Cup under van Gaal. Our boys never seemed to find a way to deal with the Portuguese. Good match from them, congratulations to Marcos, deserved win with a deserved scoreline imho. We have a lot of work to do for the Olympics.
Jiji Posted June 28, 2015 Author Posted June 28, 2015 Wait, have Atletico signed both Vietto and Jackson Martinez? And now it looks like Bacca to AC Milan is a done deal. Shit.
ReiseReise Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 In other (non) transfer news, Gündogan set to stay in Dortmund now. That Jackson Martinez thing was kind of weird, he was apparently bound for Milan, than says himself that he´d go to Atletico. Hope this doesn´t turn out bad for him. In the Bundesliga, stuff like this often meant a very troublesome season in the process.
Jiji Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 I thought AC Milan was broke? Where are they getting €30m from? Is it one of Berlusconi's hidden away stashes of tax payer money? I see he spent the weekend in Siberia with Putin... HMMMMM.
Dolfan in NYC Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 The Germany/France game has been really good. How the hell did Colombia beat France?
Cristobal Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Colombia wasn't a bad side. Things just all went to hell for them once they went down to 10 vs US.
sabremike Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Metro beats city and now move on to face the Cosmos to determine the best team in the NY Metro area. Best moment yesterday was clueless city supporters saying "You should root for NYC's team, you play in Jersey" to us and I reply "Where do New York's NFL teams play?". They got real quiet after that.
Pete Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 I was amused at NYCFC none-too-subtly removing all references to "New York" from their opponents. The scoreboard just said "RB," they were announced as "Red Bulls," etc. I'll take my amusement anyway I can. 1
MarcosLoura Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 0-0 at the end of the first half of the U-21 Euro Cup. Fucking Sweden is play dat good defence.
ReiseReise Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 0-0 at the end of the first half of the U-21 Euro Cup. Fucking Sweden is play dat good defence. One beautiful footie game. Great atmosphere in the stadium to begin with. First 70 or so minutes were fantastic by Portugal, especially the opening 20, and valiant defending by Sweden. Great plays on both ends in the respective regards. Then the game pulled a switcheroo, Portugal seemed to be running out of steam and Sweden could have, maybe should have gone and won it. Portugal now emulated Sweden, putting in good defending and having a great gk to help them out when needed. It was a really fun match from both teams, both putting in passion, but also quite a few moments of brilliance. And in the end, we get a PK shootout with some really good attempts and one or the other close call. And of course the one horrible, shameful attempt for the team I was rooting for from the player I totally expected to shoot the way he did (Khalili it was). This is one match to proof 0-0 games can provide great entertainment. Too bad one of the two had to loose in the end, but this is how it works in knockout games and finals. Happy for Sweden, who are my home away from home and worked hard for this. I hope my joy didn´t cloud my judgement on the match. If so, let me make it perfectly clear that I´d think Portugal would have been as much of a worthy champ as the Scandinavians.
MarcosLoura Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 This is why we can't have good things. Great game though.
odessasteps Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Amazing to be in a sports bar in 2015, where WWC on Fox is on one TV and the Copa is on another. 1
Jiji Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 Holy shit, that Pastore pass. Should be a great finale.
