MGFanJay Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 I think he meant the giant-ass belt he has on in the Orndorff pic, which I've never seen before.
Domino_Not_Deuce Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 It's still so awesome to me that Sandman had a good run in WWE. Them not making him GM was the missed opportunity of the millennium. 1
odessasteps Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 I thought Warlord was central states champ, but turns out he was only tag champ. However, to tie into the other thread, he was once #75 onthe pwi 500 in 1991.
Raziel Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Wait, the Freebirds had a WWF run? When did I miss that?
Pete Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Does anybody know what belt Hulk has on in this picture.... ? That belt is WAY cooler than anything else from Hogan's run. I've never seen it before and my memory is borderline insane when it comes to stuff like that...
Bustronaut Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 It's got an etched portrait of Hogan on it, probably too expensive to recreate for people who held the title for shorter periods of time.
cool arrow Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Almost looks like the WCW six-man tag belts, which I'm pretty sure were the basis for the current ROH TV belt.
Matt D Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 It's got an etched portrait of Hogan on it, probably too expensive to recreate for people who held the title for shorter periods of time. Obviously they need to make one of those for the Being John Cena title
PetrolCB Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 The WWE Classics site is really awesome now. The good write-ups and the tons of photos they've dug out of the archives are a huge upgrade compared to the dull site they used to run. Who's in the Undertaker pic?
Pete Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Whoa, which show had him coming out on a horse-drawn carriage like that?
The Great ML Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Does anybody know what belt Hulk has on in this picture.... ? That belt is WAY cooler than anything else from Hogan's run. I've never seen it before and my memory is borderline insane when it comes to stuff like that... Me too, brother...and I HAVE NEVER seen that belt before. That match looks to have taken place in late 86, early 87...maybe to coincide with Andre getting a new belt made as well, I guess they temporarily were adamant about getting a new belt made to replace the Hogan '86 belt? Whatever reason, they went back to the Hogan '86 and kept it until the Main Event 1988 in February when it was replaced by the classic Winged Eagle version.
RIPPA Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 Rumble 06? Per WWE.com - you are correct sir
Pete Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Even Sheiky's mustache is confused by the Wiz's enesmble.
cool arrow Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Looks like Patera just got humbled and Sheiky feels guilty about it. 1
Gonzalez Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Looks like the beginning of a Curb Your Enthusiasm-style misunderstanding. 1
BrianS81177 Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Wait, the Freebirds had a WWF run? When did I miss that? Tim White told the story when he was on Austin's podcast. Basically after they showed up drunker than shit and in no condition to work to a couple shows, Andre told them they were fired. Hayes (being obviously young and VERY stupid to mouth off to Andre) told him he had no authority to fire them. Andre told them he would tell the office the next day that either the Freebirds get fired or he quits. Freebirds were fired the next day. 2
Gonzalez Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Wait, the Freebirds had a WWF run? When did I miss that? Did you not see Highlander?
Curt McGirt Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Man if ANDRE is telling you you're too drunk... 8
