Today's update also has some claims from Pat Tanaka that would make Hogan blush.

*At the age of 12, he was earning $1,000 per week as a wrestling referee in Florida (actually that's what the main eventers were making)
*He was world judo champion at the age of 12 in the open division
*He would miss school to referee when WWE did TV Wednesday mornings (actually Championship Wrestling from Florida did tape on Wednesday mornings at the Sportatorium in Tampa)
*He started wrestling in Japan at 16
*At 18, he received a  $1.2 million contract for six years
*In four years, he had 33 concussions and never took time off when he broke his leg
*He made $1 million as a WrestleMania payoff (he must have worked under a mask as Steve Austin)
*His favorite band, Bad Company, played his entrance music at a live event

Perhaps someone with a subscription could tell us the actual rumblings vis-a-vis Adam Rose flopping and HHH's future?

I did but it was ignored.

Could you either link the post in question or repeat yourself, since you're taking the time to post your pouting anyway?

From today's update, a great typo

--The Bellas are hosting a poof party on 8/31 at the Foxwood Resorts Casino in Connecticut.

Dave possessed by a homophobic British comedian from the 1980s. Duncan Norvelle will probably be guest of honour at the party.

Funny Leroy McGuirk story from the most recent Observer:

Ross and Watts often tell stories of McGuirk being so hot at wrestlers that he literally wanted to kill them. Ross told the story, and this would be middle or late 1970s, he was driving McGuirk to Shreveport and McGuirk was carrying a loaded gun and told Ross he was going to kill Ted DiBiase, because he found out DiBiase was dating his daughter, Mike (who later worked for WWF as a ring announcer 1987-1993). Ross said McGuirk told him when they got to the hotel room to point him toward the door and then bring DiBiase to see him. He told Ross he was going to fire every shot he had in the gun. Ross didn’t know what to do, so pulled over on the side of the road to call Watts. Watts told Ross to make sure to get Leroy enough booze until he passed out, and then hide the gun from him, and he’d take care of it from there.

That was one angry man.

I have to ask because Meltzer brings it up all the time.  Does anyone know people that actually purchased the network for six months because they wanted to see "Warrior Week" when he died?    He seems to really think that it was this big boost to the sales and I can't see people spending $60 just to see that.

I don't think any one thing will make people say "I'm buying the network!", but more specials and original programming, combined with the PPVs, may convince people that the network is an overall package worth buying.  The specials and programming could essentially be the answer to the "Why should I pay $60 for what I'm already getting for free (illegally)?" question.

Yeah, I don't know why Meltzer is staying on that point so much because, like Bryan pointed out, it's not like they ever did THAT much to promote Warrior Week other than saying "It's Warrior Week." If they had pointed out how well the documentary is and all this stuff, then sure, I'm sure there were people who signed up just for the Warrior doc.

I just find it hard to believe that people who really, absolutely had to see a Warrior doc weren't already signed up with the network.

Has anyone ever been out near that casino? You get off the highway (you have to pass the NICE casino first, of course) hang a right, and then you're on one of the most fucked up, Deliverance-ass, melonhead inhabited roads of all time. Scary business.

Too soon for a Zombie Warrior costume?

It's been over twenty years, you should be ok.

It depends, are we talking about the first Ultimate Warrior or the second? Or Kerry Von Erich dressed as Warrior?

Meltzer did an 11 minute promo burying the fuck out of Magnus for being so stupid/close minded. Magnus write a column in Fighting Spirit Magazine in which he always comes off a massive dickhead even before he turned heel. He very much comes from the school of that there is a Wrestler-Fan divide that supercedes evidence and reason. Meaning that fans should never be critical and just "enjoy the show."

Anyway in this particular article he lumped the Wrestling media together and called them parasites due a report stating Magnus dropped the title because John Gabruick didn't like him.

I think a Wrestlezone type newzsite reported that Eric Young was a "Gabruick guy" and Magnus was a "Dixie guy." I don't recall the Observer, Torch or PWInsider reporting it. Magnus all said numbers were up across the board when he was Champion and left the belt in a better position than it was before he won it. Both laughable claims.

So Dave gave him a lecture about what an industry media does and the value of reading the Observer. It was great.
