Wouldn't that just make them leave the Lions even faster? Personally, my Mark Chmura/Brett Favre amalgams aren't turning out so well, they've been served dozens of paternity suits by co-eds so far.

Heh.  Your clones will be no match for my Peydrew Mannick spliced robots!  Now, if I can just adjust the fivehead ever so slightly and add a bit more neckbeard.

My Jim Brown/Bernie Kosar hybrids will either be the best running quarterback with the best hair or the slowest running back on earth that can kick your ass.

Being from Cleveland, I think the most likely outcome for this amalgam would be a dude with mullet, a severe gambling issue and a daughter who does porn.

Oh, also he plays lacrosse instead of football.

I was really hoping for a mobile quarterback with an early Ice Cube level jheri curl, but that is much more realistic.  Bernie Kosar is the king of the bad breaks.

Yeah, it might be best to reserve judgement until we see it.  But this is ESPN, so fuck them.

ESPN.com is going to "reenact" Aaron's 715th HR today.

ESPN.com will start this reenactment at 7:15 p.m. ET tonight, with photos, videos and “reports” from the now-demolished Fulton County Stadium in Atlanta. Network baseball insider Jayson Stark will even serve as an “on-site” reporter. He’ll provide updates, statistics and player reaction throughout the evening, culminating at 9:07 p.m. ET, the exact time Aaron hit the home run 40 years ago.

There really are no words for how horrible this sounds.

EPSN's "other" piece of quality programming (besides the 30 For 30 films), E:60, is back with a new season.  Debut episode was called "Perfect" and featured all living pitchers (other than a certain lefty Dodger) who have thrown perfect games discussing them.  This was really well done and eschewed the fake production meeting and "look how serious we are" opening that grates me so much about the regular show.  And you just can't help but feel really happy for these guys when they show the 27th outs and celebrations.  They also talk to Mike Mussina, who missed a perfect game by one out, and discuss the misses by Dave Steib** (also 26 outs), Pedro Martinez (who got 27 outs but lost his in the 10th inning), Yu Darvish and Armando Galarraga (who had his broken up after 26 outs by a blown call by Jim Joyce*).

* - It's a shame that, with instant replay now part of the game, that MLB still won't go back and fix Galarraga's game and make it a perfecto after the fact.  It still pisses me off that Selig didn't do the right thing back then.

** - Steib had four no-hitters broken up after 26 outs - the perfect game mentioned, a start in 1985, and then two consecutive starts in 1988.  I know for awhile in the 1980s it seemed like Dave Stieb was going 7+ innings with a no-hitter every couple weeks.

I found the recent Pat Tillman piece on ESPN both fascinating and nauseating. It was definitely compelling materiel but I hate that it was on ESPN. I hatehatehate when espn tries to do a serious tug at your heart strings story. I blame them hiring Chris Connelly and having nothing for him to do.

Any reason you hate that it is on ESPN?  Is this a bias thing, or do you not believe that they have the ability to do it correctly?  I was interested in reading it, but if it is poorly done, I'll probably skip it.

I just don't think Sportscenter is the place for it. Outside the Lines or E60 ok but really anything Tillman seems exploitative at this point.

Like I said it was compelling and worth checking out. I just don't tune into Sportscenter for super sad stories with grown men fighting back tears.

But it was an Outside the Lines piece they also ran on SportsCenter.

There has been probably 2 or 3 documentaries/special on Pat Tillman so the "exploited" argument has passed way to long ago.   To be honest you could argue that the United State exploited him before the body was cold but this is not the place to debate that.
