Reed
I think the direct to DVD stuff is just smart business. There are a lot of older/poorer people who can't/won't stream online so this would be aimed at them. Short shooting time for the actors (how many takes would they really do?) as well as the ability to just play 'themselves' would be a big plus. Its not a character that moves stuff for Seagal, JCVD or Cage, its the stereotype that has been attached to their name. No one cares about who Cage is trying to portray, just let him give us some vintage Cage-ness and we will pay you a couple of bucks for a 90 minute DVD. Thanks to stuff like netflix and redbox, it is remarkably easy to make money on low budget b movies these days.
Burgundy LaRue
Not to mention that big-name actors can get a piece of the gross revenue. That can be a quick $2-4 million for maybe five weeks of work. And many direct to DVD movies are better than some of the garbage that makes it to the big screeen.
Reed
. That can be a quick $2-4 million for maybe five weeks of work. Good. Seagal's monthly donuts budget is roughly that.

Casey
does anyone remember that French wrestling film last year about a mother trying to connect with her son through wrestling? Yeah, WWE is going to remake it with The Miz and Eve Torres.

Fat Spanish Waiter
So wait WWE makes a horror movie and doesn't have Mark Henry show up and beat the fuck out of the demon? Such a waste.

Elsalvajeloco
I saw Easy A on television today, and Emma Stone's Olive character has to be one of the least endearing, obnoxious, repulsive characters in the history of film. When she goes dancing across the floor, I just wanted someone to take a lead pipe and any close blunt object to her head. I can't believe they are letting Will Gluck direct the Annie remake. He can go suck a bag of dicks for this putrid pile of feces. http://deathvalleydriver.com/forum/index.php?/topic/226-what-are-the-worst-films-you-have-seen/?p=8150 Yep, I still maintain Will Gluck is a bum. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrxc8rS2W2E

I am almost positive that Brock would manage to hit way more innocent bystanders than ghosts or demons.

Seeing Annie outside of the '30s takes some getting used to 2. Andre Braugher would have been a much better Will Stacks. Jamie Foxx skews too younger for Daddy Warbucks.
