Upcoming Releases

Hmmmm, FFX and FFX-2 HD Editions are announced for March 18th...

I liked them, but I'm not sure if I really want to go through and replay them.

They're based on the International releases, so they come with a bunch of stuff that the US didn't get in the original release (Dark Aeons, super boss Penance, etc.), so take that for what it's worth. I'd love an HD remake of XII done the same way, with that job system the original didn't have.

XII International had a license grid system set up like a job system, where you chose a job for each character and they were stuck with it. Also, it apparently changed up the Quickening system and how you used Espers.

I guess this was announced a month ago and I missed it (and possibly even in this thread)

A sequel to Sleeping Dogs has been announced. It will be called Triad Wars.

Atlus released FOUR trailers for their next Persona games, including Persona 5 for PS3.

Persona 4 Dancing All Night for Vita: http://youtu.be/M5BIRWiifo8

Persona 4 Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold for PS3: http://youtu.be/Zqmnp2wZRU4

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth for 3DS (although I would love to see this on Vita): http://youtu.be/etfqRXPXbQQ

The weird thing about P5 is that, yes, it's for the PS3...but it's scheduled to come out next winter.  That's a bit of an odd decision to not put it on the PS4 by then.

It fits in line with Atlus and past decisions with the Persona series. Persona 4 came out for PS2 around the time that the PS3 was starting up.

Still, 2014 for PS3 games looks pretty spectacular: Tales of Xillia 2, Dark Souls II, KH 2.5 HD and now Persona 5.

If you're a medium sized studio wanting to make money with a Japan-centric game there's no way you release it on a home console that's been out in the country for less than a year.

Well, the markets hated Ubisoft for announcing that WATCH_D0GS will be pushed back to June 2014, but I am happy.

1. Hyped up games need to live up to the hype.  Don't relase them until they are ready.

2. Summer sucks for gamers because developers & producers wait until Thanksgiving / Fall or May to release the big titles.  Finally we have a decent next-gen game that comes out before summer, and it's open world which could take weeks to beat.

June is certainly longer than anyone expected, but hey.  At least it means I'll be able to get it on PS4. :)

It was an ambitious concept so I figured there'd be at least one lengthy delay.

Destiny was just pushed back to September and I think The Order will be a fall release as well. I am really excited for a couple downloadable games that should be out for PS4 in the spring, The Witness and Transistor, and the Xbox One will have Titanfall.
