Curt McGirt
Thank y'all for the comments. Just as an update, she had to miss our planned get-together to examine my record collection due to her kid having basketball apparently. I know that sounds like an excuse but I understand as she's had a recent divorce and is dealing with a five-year old, and we had a long conversation and she seemed to still like my no-filter, super-honest ass afterwards and invited me to her Solstice party. I have probably now totally cursed myself by talking about this at all. But, it feels good to tell someone... anyone, really.

I think the world of both of you and with everything that's happened to you two I hope everything works out. And I did see Curt's update but that still sounds pretty damn promising no matter how it shakes out.
Joe vs the Algorithm
Neighbor called off his wedding Saturday morning. Ceremony was supposed to start after lunch. Lol, timing, I wish he had cancelled everything before I got up early to wash our car so it would be squeaky clean for the big event, but nope. Guy still seems deeply in love with the bride-not-to-be, but he’s been asking her for a prenup agreement for awhile now. Decided to marry her anyway after she refused to sign, then thought better of it last week. Probably smart but not exactly admirable. A little worried I have a hand in this. Neighbor came to me a month ago needing some professional advice and when the conversation turned to his impeding nuptials, I gave him my personal - as opposed to professional - opinion of prenup contracts. Personally, I think asking your fiance or fiancée to sign one is a terrible idea, but, if you really want a prenup and the other person really doesn’t, is it any different from not being able to agree on a joint checking account or a household budget? It’s a flashing red light that you and they are not on the same page, and need to have some serious discussion before thinking about marriage Professionally, I think it’s smart, particularly in this case when it would have been his fourth marriage and her third. Lol, I am really hoping I never have to tell my wife that I told him they were probably incompatible if a a prenup was that important to him. She likes them as a couple and spent the weekend fantasy booking how they could get back together (or how she could get them back together, more to the point). Curt McGirt
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm_DDttubQs I need to watch Bring the Pain again sometime. Noticed the last time it was on TV that it was self-censored... you probably know the bit.
Nice Guy Eddie
Unfortunately, I've had to postpone my date for Friday because I've got a cold. My lady friend was very understanding, so this is just a minor bump in the road.
Johnny Sorrow
Some of you may remember that I've coached Little League for awhile now. This year, I was going to take a break for reasons I'll eventually share. But, ( Doing my best Silvio doing Pacino), "Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in!" Stay tuned. Zimbra
Last thing I had to do last night before I went to bed was start the dishwasher. Opened the cabinet under the sink to grab the detergent and it's full of dirty water. Apparently my garbage disposal shit the bed sometime in the last 24 hours and was just pouring water out the bottom. Guess I have my weekend project all set for me.

dragonzombie
The inflation rates are going down and the inflation too in both USA and Canada. Both should be way lower by Dec. Happy May is soon over.
Leviathan West
Not exactly the topic of the thread, but I was a depressed 20-something and wrote a LiveJournal post back in 2008 about how much I could relate to the Age of the Fall in Ring of Honor at the time being outcasts and love not saving and blah blah... Well I sent it to Seth Rollins at the time, and he was cool enough to respond to my e-mail with encouraging words. Hope everyone here is doing well this weekend.
Mike Campbell
Yesterday was a long day, and today is fixing to be another one. I worked the PT job (seven more weeks and I'm done!) 5 AM to 1 PM. Came right home and ate a bagel and then me and the wife headed up north to Roswell (about an hour and a half) to deal with her car. Her lease is up in July and we'd like to buy the car outright. We tell the guy why we're there, and with her new job being such a drive every day that we don't want to do another lease. He proceeds to try to get us in a new car that neither of us really cared for, and as nice as the numbers were, we find out it's another lease. So they finally do what we told them we wanted in the first place, and they come back with numbers we're extremely happy with. However, my better half has a deal where she gets panic attacks whenever we're doing big things like this. Even though she fully knows that it's exactly what we wanted and that we got a very good deal on it. It's like an involuntary thing with her body. So she's dealing with that and hasn't slept, and instead of getting up at 4 to be at work at 5. I've been up since about 2 (woke up when she got up to go into the kitchen for some water. So I'm on about 5 - 5 1/2 hours of sleep, getting ready for an 8 hour shift on a holiday plus graduation weekend.

Car recovered. 3am police are knocking on our door saying the found the car abandoned. A series of joy rides going from one stolen car to the next. Baby seat was thrown out of the car but found this time, just so much broken glass on it we might need to just get a new one and not risk hidden shards. My wife feels terrible, she forgot to put the club on, remembered, and then forgot again. Disappointed at first but I held my composure because she feels terrible and is really beating herself up. I told her the amount of mistakes and forgetfulness I make during the week it’s just a matter of when bad luck strikes. So we took today off and I called insurance and figuring everything out. Took lil Octopus to the park to end the day on a fun note. This will be another shitty couple of months. Sold the car and we shockingly got more than we owe on it. Suck it, Kia. That’ll be enough to put a downpayment on the next car once the deposit goes through. Short work week so the carpooling won’t be bad. I was nervous thinking we’d lose money on this and be in a tough spot again for a while. Woooo.

S.K.o.S.
Starting autism/ADHD testing tomorrow. It's a series of very spread-out sessions, will be done by the end of the summer. Finally I'll have an answer to the question: am I autistic, or just reeeeeeally awkward?
Curt McGirt
Oh yeah, Re: Octopus' car, apparently Kias and some other brand of car can be broken into with just a USB (?!?!) and there's been a wave of these along with people filming themselves on TikTok committing fucking Grand Theft Auto. So be forewarned.

From my vague recollection, the easy theft issue is with Hyundais and Kias with a key ignition; push-button starters don’t have the same vulnerability.
Contentious C
Hah, 2021 would like its news alerts back, guys. But yeah, push-buttons are made these days with passive immobilizers set between the engine and ignition to detect whether the key is present within the vehicle. Most brands incorporated the tech across the board, key ignition or not. Those brands just decided, "Fuck it" and cheaped out until this blew up in their face. Was glad my Sonata hybrid is a push-button. Of course, hybrids are targets for people stealing the catalytic converters, so...hooray capitalism.
