  1. My wife accidentally opened my phone to the ratings thread and now she’s salt.

  2. I already ordered it. It’s going to be a good show. The main event will be entertaining. And I’ve got a hard exit time from the in laws house today.

  3. I preferred him as “The Punisher” Andrew Martin.

  4. I wish the ignore feature worked to where I just didn't see the person's posts whatsoever. Like... vanish them like a ghost. Instead it's "this post is not visible because you have ignored the person" and there's no way I have the impulse control to ignore that. It's why I have so many Reese's cups in my freezer. (They were on sale this week.)

  5. Scripted TV sucks. AEW rules the motherfucking world.

  6. Well, that's different from the people in there who are just salty, I suppose.

  7. Funny how things change. Back in 2008, screaming YOU-MAGA was referring to a mindless savage. These days... wait a fucking minute, nevermind.

  8. I'll be checking out Double or Nothing at the movies. I managed to make it into the theatre with a six pack of Cape May Brewing Co. Hard Lemonade. I'm ready for the show.

  10. I assume that by "working in Atlanta for Ted Turner" Hogan meant GCW where Hogan was working in late 79. cagematch has two Georgia results for Graham in that timeframe as well, most notably an Omni show which had Hogan on the card as well (beating Stan Hansen by the way): https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=26355

  12. Premier League: 11 of the most dramatic final days https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65436593 Best Bradford City game I ever attended by far. We needed to beat Liverpool who were going for a Champions League spot and hope Wimbledon lost away to Southampton. Bradford City won 1-0 and Wimbledon lost 2-0. David Wetherall with the only goal, an early header which increases the tension even more. I was trying to listen to my radio there and update those around me. As we left me and my Dad were caught on camera: I was 14 at the time. My Dad, 41.

  14. You guys wanna hear a unbelievable story that I swear is true - when I went through my 'oh shit I am poor' phase from 2012 to 2017 and needed a roommate to pay my mortgage, over that time period I got FIVE different roommates off craiglist (three of which I didn't meet in person until the day they moved in), and all five were normal people that paid their rent on time and left when they were supposed to. To this day my mom says I'm the luckiest person on earth.

  15. Not really. Just the Pillars and AitA. Outside of those 2 matches the show was probably the promotions worst.

  16. Speaking of food, my wife made this shrimp, bacon, and chickpea thing to spoon onto ciabatta bread. Fanciest fucking thing I’ve had to eat for a wrestling ppv.

  17. Right before Jarrett left TNA, they were looking for writers and I worked myself into a shoot and decided I wanted that job so for a couple of weeks I would just jot down ideas. One of them was Sabu managing the Briscoes. One, I wanted the Briscoes in and two, I wanted to work Team 3D out. So the premise was Sabu was sick of hearing 3D claiming to be the originators of table-based violence so he brings in the Briscoes as his proteges who he taught the intricacies of using tables as weapons. He was going to wear a suit and smoke a cigar and during promos would blow smoke rings and point up and Borash and Mark would look up at the smoke and then Jay would burst onto the set and start cursing so all you'd hear is a long "BEEP" and JB's eyes would get big and Sabu would pump his fist and nod excitedly in approval and then he'd point to the ring and him and Jay would storm off and JB would nudge Mark who's still looking up and he'd look around and smile at the camera and say something like, "Like my brother and Mr. Sabu were saying, we're in for a good ath-a-letic contest tonight, folks." and then a chair would come flying onto the set and Sabu and Jay would rush back on and Jay would be all, "Naw, man, no handshakes , we done shaking hands. We gonna put those two through some tables and send them back up north and they ain't gonna take 'em back cause they ain't gonna be cosmetically pleasing no more. Y'all better MAN UP!" then Jay and Sabu would leave again and Mark would smile at the camera again and say, "Stay tuned folks for more exciting Total Nonstop Action after these words from our sponsors!" and Borash would be, "That's my job. I throw to commercial." Then I've got Sabu taking the Briscoes out for sushi to celebrate with Borash along to document and they get their food and Jay and Mark would go, "They didn't cook that fish." "That man just cut that fish up and threw it on our plates." "Man, you got a grill back there, a hibachi, a Bic, some candles, two sticks I can rub together? Get over there Chicken, we gotta get some fire under this fish." Then the chef would be like, "No chicken, just fish, get back, please." "Man we can't be eating raw fish, we'll get the botulism." Then the camera pans over to Sabu and he just mutters, "savages" and then pulls a railroad spike out of nowhere and starts snatching sushi off Borash's plate with it while JB's eyes bug out.

  18. I will stop buying AEW PPVs long after I start missing TV. One in four Dynamites leave me cold. They still haven't had a bad PPV since Matt Hardy cracked his skull and even that picked back up at the end.

  19. Honestly, this was a tough decision for me. I’ll likely skip outside of a spur of the moment buy. Build up hasn’t done it for me in a lot of ways. I would prefer Rush beating up MJF. Buuuut, I did drink some zingers with my brother while everyone in the house was taking a nap and will have a family bbq where I will drink more. Last time I was wiggle I still bought a PPV after not fully being sold on it for the very reason that they usually live up to it. Who knows what will happen. I’m gonna grab a Ham’s now that I’m home. Then I’ll have some fancy heavy IPA. Then after putting meat in me will probably want to watch people hit each other charismatically. Unless, someone finds daisuke sekimoto vs. shuji ishikawa BJW from March 2015, maybe I’ll AEW. Or I could get more hammered and watch an ~art film~ or write stuff. Or get even more hammered and go on a walk and cry.

  20. As a hater it's very exciting that we're guaranteed to either see Miami fumble a 3-0 lead or Boston fumble a crucial game 7. Either way, I'm eating.

  22. Despite the good pitch, I think I’m still passing in favour of the Succession and Barry finales. Better build.

  29. Wasn’t the offence that did ‘em in less of a “won’t stop shitting on AEW” and more of a “wouldn’t stop being a shithead and didn’t know when to walk away”?

  31. He did indeed. One of the Pitbulls got taken out with ether or chloroform on a rag, Dreamer put the collar on himself, pinned Raven, crowd goes nuts. Fonzie, absolutely correctly, overturns the finish because Dreamer wasn't part of the match "you've still never pinned Raven." Big Dick Dudley gets Tommy in the goozle, Fonzie "unbans" the chokeslam just for this night, Tommy gets chokeslammed, crowd immediately knows what's up and 911 finally gets to chokeslam Fonzie. Ethered Pitbull comes back and they win the belts anyway. Utter chaos on the surface, but underneath one of the tightest bits of booking Heyman ever did, weaving like three or four major storylines into one match and having all of them either hit a satisfying conclusion or take another notable step forward.

  32. It’s funny to me that two guys, whose whole schtick was “come into every AEW thread and do nothing but shit on AEW,” got Cash’d, and we still have posters who do just that. To quote our master thespian Wesley Snipes, “some motherfuckers are always trying to ice skate uphill.”

  34. I… didn’t love that show at all. Statlander returning and beating Jade was great, but almost everything tonight just felt off. Is it June 17th yet?

  35. I popped for the Andre, Bearer and Macho ones. Hogan getting audible boos only for people to pop for the lookalike that looks like Chuck Liddell with a Fu Manchu was also amusing.

  36. He's probably right. Damnit. The main reason I feel like I should get the show is simply having tomorrow off, so watching til midnight won't be so brutal. Still on the fence...

  37. Finally got around to this week’s episode of My World, and Conrad almost got me considering buying this one with talk of how AEW always delivers on PPV and how this is going to be a sleeper great show. That guy has the makings of a decent salesman.

  38. Hey, not sure if it’s annoying to ask for link requests but I’ve been searching for this one for a bit: Daisuke Sekimoto vs. Shuji Ishikawa - BJW March 31st, 2015 (aired I believe April 14th so it could be under either date). I love me some Sekimoto beefy grappling. —— Re: Misawa vs Kobashi. I’d love to travel down the King’s Road chronologically (like our friend @Matt D is doing, if you’re not reading his thread on that I highly recommend checking it out. Agree or disagree with certain takes, it’s a fantastic thread!).

  39. I hear that, especially when it's a few ignored folks going back and forth - plus we can't avoid quotes in replies so Reese's Cups on sale? Impossible to ignore!

  40. Becky/Trish was my showstealer match of the night. Loved this, got a good amount of time, thought Trish looked excellent and loved the finish too. Huge fan of Zoey so pairing her with Trish felt brilliant and I look forward to seeing more. Seth does nothing for me at all so no interest there. The 'make Cody just another guy' Mania campaign is complete. Predictable main event, over all that. Thought Bianca/Asuka was really good again. Love Asuka, so great for her, but am definitely sad to see Bianca's run finally come to an end, was a big fan of her whole reign. If anyone had to do it, at least Asuka was best choice.

  43. Good show. Aldis/King was a solid main card opener. Nice seeing Jake Crist back again and aligned with Sami made sense. Another strong showing from Trinity. Subculture is a great addition, especially complete with Dani Luna, I hope they stick around. Super fun tag title match with some wild dives and spots. Looked like Bey took himself out almost on the double poison rana. Trey/Sabin was pretty great, glad to see it looks like they'll continue. Six way was fun, nice victory for Shelley and he'll deliver another great title match. Liked the spot where Moose broke up the tower of doom and pulled it all apart. Deonna/Jordynne with another epic, I love their rivalry and Deonna just being Jordynne's kryptonite. They went pretty fast paced and the finish was killer. Main event was absolutely nuts. So much blood everywhere, on the wrestlers, the ring mat, the floor mats. Wild brawl. Really great first big defense for Maclin. The visual of him standing tall in victory with face completely covered in blood was epic. Dug all the post-match chaos continuing as well. Lots of good stuff throughout the show. Full results Under Siege:

  44. But it was a link to something that portrayed AEW in a negative light! What's he gonna do, not compulsively post it as soon as possible? Think of all the discussion we'd be missing out on.

  46. Completely true if all Mark Henry does for his employment at AEW is host one video package or conduct one interview a week. I sense big Mark's doing more than 'meets the eye'. I'd suggest the same of 'Scott Colton'.

  47. Yes, same with my couch. I learned that one the hard way. (That's also why I charged some amount of money for it rather than just giving it away for free. $40 makes no actual difference to me, but I figure it screens out some people who I'd rather not have showing up at my house.)
