  6. Also I don't know if Shaq was told to or not but the Brodie Lee tribute on the powerbomb was a great touch I am still not tired of seeing -1 do his thing. His reaction watching the end was great from the back was cool

  7. Dug the show alot! Shaq took a great table bump. ONITA TULLY JJ JJ'S SHOE...! Freaking SURREAL! REVOLUTION is gonna be a blast....literally and figuratively.

  8. Ryo Mizunami has carried 4 different wrestlers to four really good matches. GIVE HER THE BELT!

  9. Most of it has been covered but Shaq match was GOATed. Jade is special. Don't ever stop posing or cutting off your own offense to pose for the hard cam. It's perfect. Red Velvet looked good too, particularly on the Orihara moonsault. I had the most fun with this match and it's gotta be one of the best celebrity matches I can think of. Top tier at least. Then Shaq pulled a Michael Myers. Please finally give us Shaq vs. Da Big Homie. And then we got Onita, Tully, JJ, Sting hitting another great splash, the US title, the NWA tag titles, Tully, Ryo and Nyla having a good match (Ryo won over the audience immediately), and Tully (in a '70s jump suit). I love AEW. I enjoyed Big Show throwing in a "no, it's not who you think it is" to preempt the CM Punk fans and Flair's Shadow. I know the FMW exploding voltage cage gimmick had the massive explosion, but it sounded like Onita said we'd also get the big timer explosion in this one too, right? I watched the double hell tag with Funk and Pogo vs. Tanaka and Hayaboosie badazz a few months back and I don't recall if that had the big explosion. *checking* Fuck yes it does. Complete with air raid sirens. PLEASE HAVE THE SIRENS. PUHLEASE. My only concern for Sunday is it may go too long. One of my major complaints of Omega/Moxley I was it didn't have the crowd energy and meandered too much. I hope they've learned their lessons with long shows, but that's a lot of matches they've got lined up and a lot of big ones too. I'm less concerned about this match though because of the stip being impossible to not get into. But Shaq tho. I apologize for doubting him but that fucking build killed my initial interest. He even had dope updated Shaqnosis on.

  14. Cody/Red v. Shaq/Jade was awesome! Absolutely delivered beyond expectations, loved it. Marked out for the table bump and I thought Jade looked fantastic for her first ever match, great stuff. And then Shaq vanished from the ambulance! Loved seeing Tully in the ring, marked out again for JJ Dillon being involved, what an awesome extra touch. Nice little Arn appearance for the Horsemen formation to add to it. Just an amazing nonstop first hour, didn't even mind coming down a bit for the second hour. Can't wait to see what else can follow up with the announcement from Paul Wight. Ryo/Nyla was good, Caster/10 solid, and a fun main event/post-match chaos. Revolution is stacked, very much looking forward to all of it.

  15. Oh and not to excuse the tale of two halves but intentional or not I was getting SNME vibes with the show pacing. Big stuff to start and some good shit for those that stick around. I'm very sure it was unintentional but I didn't mind either way for this particular episode.

  16. I had quite the hearty laugh when going there. An occasional interactive chyron works quite well for me. And while the second half wasn't as good the first was more than enough to make this one helluva go-home episode. Y'all saw it and know what ruled. I'm just smiling thinking how fortunate I am to see a national company have such awesome shit on TV.

  17. Is there anything in wrestling more disappointing than a mystery man revealing himself to be Shawn Spears?

  18. The Shaq match was basically two separate matches glued together—a solid Dark match between developmental-level talents and a fun, goofy celebrity match. The two halves weren’t very cohesive, but both seemed pretty effective at what they were tying to do. Jade looked like a star and seemed pretty competent in the ring. Nice spinebuster. Shaq did not embarrass himself. Hats off to him for taking that table bump. He definitely didn’t half-ass this like some people thought he would.

  23. Like I suggested in last week’s thread, Ethan Page is in the wind. If I was a betting man, I’d lay money on him. Of course, if Cody’s shoulder is fucked and he was just getting through the Shaq match, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets pulled or taken out by someone the nigh of, so he doesn’t have to do a damn ladder match already hurt. There might be two spots left.

  24. Great stuff from Velvet and Jade. Both looked like stars tonight and, once she really comes into her own, Jade is going to be a force.

  26. That Shaq/Cody table bump! That match not stinking out the joint! Onita giving his blessing! Yeah, @Death From Above fuck Barstool! JJ Dillon!! FTR in Tully-inspired gear! Stunt eating a slingshot suplex! No More BS! Ryo looking like a beast tossing Nyla around! Shida and Ryo trading stiff elbows! The West Texas Rednecks were right ? Negative 1 marking out on the stage during the Pier 6 brawl!

  27. Jade and especially Red Velvet had great looking gear, but they really need to work on their skills of putting tables up. Other than that, Jade and Red both looked good I thought. All in all, considering I was watching one woman having her first real match ever, one woman having her first match on a national stage and f’n Shaquille O’Neal – this was quite good. Pac is back. Awesome. MJF and his blue bubble gum. Great. Onita on Dynamite. Hilarious. Inner Circle press conference was fine but uninspired. FTR vs. Jurassic Express was good and I liked the old school antics by Tully and Dillon. Nice that this new faction already has their obligatory fall guy in Spears. Add FTR & Spears to the ever-growing list of Trios in AEW. The Giant looked slim like never before and seemingly Tony Khan just can’t stop hiring new wrestlers. But I’ll be very happy to see hall of famer Syxx finally return to TNT. Shida and Mizunami happily and friendly clobbering each other made me smile. A West Texas Rednecks shoutout in 2021! Scorpio sounded suspiciously/offputtingly heelish on commentary. I like Hardy just paying dudes to do his dirty deeds and I think this heel turn really worked out for Matt although he should be doing less and less matches and be more of a manager. All the tag teams brawling at the end of show felt kinda lame. And as always. Here comes Stiiing. And he’s talking - and there’s Ta… oh, Ricky is doing the interrupting this time. Well, that’s something. Ah, there’s Taz and the rest. And Darby’s here too. Fantastic. And cut to commercials. Awesome. This is the greatest feud I have seen in my life… can't wait to see all of them go onto new adventures. - And most importantly: the adampagewrestling.com website featured in Hangman’s chyron just redirects you to a two hours long video of wild horses in nature with relaxing guitar music on Youtube.

  29. That actually would be hilarious, if there was one old-school nut high up in the NBC decision-making chain that drives WWE crazy. "Why aren't Georgia Championship Wrestling Omni house shows on Peacock yet? Start with the annual tag tournaments, asap!"

  33. Yeah. Saw that earlier. That's disappointing. IT'S A FUCKING MASK. WEAR ONE, YOU FUCKS. IF A MOTHERFUCKER WITH COPD CAN WEAR ONE THEN YOUR BITCH ASS CAN TOO. Fucking BABIES. Fuck em! After COVID is over, I'm still wearing a mask to the store and other places. Aside from actually getting COVID, this is the longest I've gone without catching a cold and it's FUCKING WONDERFUL.

  34. Also, Marty "the Moth" Martinez is training at the Nightmare Factory right now. He had a nice following going on Lucha Underground before he shredded his neck/back. He'd be a sneaky fun choice for that ladder match.

  35. Damn right. I know for little me it worked for my parents as they'd let me see the big stuff then it was off to bed. I oddly enough never stuck around for "Take me home" to be played but I was quite the happy kid anyway. Oh and to your earlier point about Jade I had a pretty good feeling about her and Shaq. I consider it a success all around.

  36. I never really gave a shit about JJ Dillon when I was younger to be honest, but I did see a shoot interview of his a few years ago and he seems like a genuinely nice, normal person from an era when almost everyone in wrestling was on the verge of being in a prison lunchroom fight. A guy who really loved wrestling and was thankful of all it did for his life, so actually I am very on board with "seeing JJ again was very cool".

  39. Great point. You see how booking went to shit once guaranteed TV money and no longer running traditional PPV killed the need to drive business via good booking? Now the network money is guaranteed and there’s no driver for producing good network content. I wonder if these trends toward putting the company on autopilot point to a possible sale in the future. “IT’S A TURNKEY BUSINESS PAL!”
