I'm about 2/3 of the way through a biography of John Quincy Adams in "The American Presidents" series. It's an interesting read. My main takeaways from it are that JQA was a good diplomat, an honorable man, a mediocre president (due to his being such an honorable man), and a really shitty parent.

I was 7 in 1992 and like a lot of youngsters then Sting was one of my favourite wrestlers. I vividly remember watching Big Van Vader beat the everliving fuck out of Sting on TV and being terrified that he was going to kill him and not in a flippant 'I'm going to kill you' way people say to each other when they're angry, I legitimately thought I was going to witness a murder. For whatever reason, hokey stuff like Papa Shango didn't scare me then but Vader scared the absolute shit out of me. He was the Man.

I was joking when I suggested this in the locked thread, but since they're actually doing it, I'm going to disappointed if Sandy Duncan doesn't at least have a cameo in the season premiere.

I've gone into some of the big New Japan shows and expressed me not getting Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi. I won't rehash those arguments here. I'll just enjoy LA Park/Rush kill each other like they did last night.

KAMAITACHI/ISHIMORI: Christ, Ishimori looks like he injected every single steroid and supplement the Midbreath gym's locker room could provide. Whether you like this or not is dependent on your tolerance for the New Japan Main Event style (and the Junior style), but I thought they mixed it up well -- we got a Korakuen crowd brawl, some submission attempts, and the expected rope running and bomb throwing. There were some gnarly bits like Ishimori's German while sliding out of the ring to Hiromu hanging in the ropes and that evil driver Hiromu delivered towards the end. You still have Hiromu hanging in a Yes Lock for a really really long time (at least Korakuen is about to explode the whole time) and also popping up right after a poisoned Frankensteiner to deliver one of his own. Regardless, solid enough match. The Super Juniors trophy is boss as all get out and would look really nice on a fireplace mantle or behind glass; unfortunately one of the wings gets broken off of it. Ospreay is called out and now hopefully our beloved Kamaitachi is back on the right track. This is the first time I noticed the DRI skankin' man logo on his jacket, btw...

I don't watch NXT. I don't know what Sanity's gimmick is. Are they wacky anarchists? I saw The Symbol of Chaos. One guy looks like a ManBearPig and another looks like the kid that licked the pole and got stuck in Christmas Story, but grown up.
