I actually hung out with Coach a few times and he's a pretty good dude. He was tight with a good friend of mine and we got lots of comp tickets thru him. I saw Raw from a skybox an the Air Canada Centre once thanks to Coach...it was the one where they also taped a SNME with Cena vs Great Khali. Goodtimes.

odessasteps
And why is Flair so low?
Sublime
I think the idea is that proximity to Taker is more indication of importance than being near the top or bottom.
offspring515
From things said in the various podcasts I would assume Conrad is rich. Not Khan family rich of course but rich enough. Also Taker is supposedly good friends with Prichard so there’s a chance he’s giving Conrad the family discount.
RIPPA
BTW - you get a deal if you book Taker for 3 hours as apparently he charges the $25K for a hour but you get a $60K for three hours deal He also charges $150 for a photo
Jiji
Like, how do you make money paying him that? And then guys like Flair, Bret, and Staaang can't be cheap either. Starrcast I sold 11,000 tickets allegedly. The prices are $69 for access to the area with all the wrestlers and personalities but no shows, $180 for guaranteed seating to shows, and $280 for reserved seating/VIP bullshit. I guess if the majority of people attending this time are getting the pricier tickets and they do similar sales as the first one it could be very profitable but that's a lot of dough to cough up. Craig H
Part of me wonders if Conrad was able to partner up with one of the casinos to help pay for this shit because the more people that attend there are likely to dump their cash at that casino.

Sky Blue Sam
Olive Garden isn't a thing in the UK, but Virgil very much strikes me as a Wetherspoons man 1

Beech27
Kenny doing the ESPN sign-off is a little surreal, but I imagine doing more of this kind of thing was a big part of signing with AEW. We know that New Japan’s schedule didn’t leave him with as much free time as he wanted, and of course WWE’s is much more arduous. What AEW’s looks like, once a weekly TV show gets started, we still don’t know—but I think constant house shows are very unlikely.

Jiji
Wait, what? What was it that he said that is so absurd?
Raziel
That AEW, the promotion that hasn't run an actual show yet, is the #2 Promotion in the US. And that NJPW, a promotion that ran a handful of shows under their own banner, is #3. AEW at 2 is fucking absurd, no matter what mental gymnastics you use about ticket sales or their circle jerk pep rallies to justify it.
Guest Edwin
Yeah, I want AEW to succeed as much anyone else, but their hardcore fan base that claims they are the #2 organization in the world even though they've never run an official event under their banner and that they are already direct competition for WWE and that Vince should be trembling in his boot are delusional. odessasteps
I guess it depends on if you grandfather in the All In success for AEW. But still, I would disagree with Dave on this one.
Jiji
Who has said they're #2 in the world? Dave isn't. The tweet he quoted was talking about ROH being #2 in the US. How are AEW not instantly the #2 promotion in the United States when they're selling out a 12,000 seat venue on their own (not piggybacking off of Mania and NJPW)? I expect they'll do 1500-2500 for weekly TV once they settle in, but that's conjecture. Still, are you really arguing they aren't going to be more popular than ROH, who's doing probably ~800-1000 at best for TV tapings now? I don't get it. And, yeah, @odessasteps is bang on the money. All In was basically their pilot show and it was a huge success even if the diluted PPV/on-demand numbers were way lower than expectations and it didn't do great numbers on WGN either. Even with that in mind, AEW is going to be significantly bigger than ROH out of the gates. ROH's record attendance is 6100 and they leaned on an Elite storyline and Kenny Omega for that, along with the Hardys to get 3500 before that. Raziel
Have they run a show yet? No. They haven't. Until the bells ring, they can't be the #2 promotion in the US, because THEY HAVEN'T RUN A FUCKING SHOW. You really can't call something the automatic #2 based on "well they *should* do this". i'm not arguing that they won't be as or more popular because they have a bunch of people already worshiping at their altar, but as of this moment, no, there's no way you can logically argue that right now, they're the #2 promotion without ANY shows run, any TV, or anything but a couple taped rallies. That's insane. By that metric, I can create anything and call it the #2 by default because it "might" be bigger.
