I don't think Mox retires Danielson. But, if he does, I'd say there's a very high chance that it's because that's what Danielson wanted. Seems he's getting to do things on his terms at the end here. Haven't been given reason to think otherwise.

I agree it's probably Danielson's call.

Keep in mind, Danielson is only retiring from being an *active* wrestler. He could drop the title to Mox next month and still come back to settle up with him down the line, eventually do the Darby match, etc.

Maybe he is taken out by Mox and avenged by the mysterious masked wrestler, the Vegan Rider.

Great show! Also, last week's Rampage and Collision had a bunch of awesome stuff!

Opener was intense and told a decent story with Nigel going for super strong pins and surely held his own, until the cathartic ending. Maybe he can shut up now. Christian was stirring shit up with his contract but considering how the main event went, his options are getting shittier and shittier.

FTW title match was good and Taven was stooging around something fierce. Good show of respect at the end and the story of FTW title comes to an end. Hook can now move on. To what, I have no idea, though?

The tag title match was simply amazing! Holy shit! I'll shove that screwdriver straight in your ear, Callis! It has worked for you ONE time! Stop bringing it with you, it only... well fuck it, screws things!

Women's title match ended up being super exciting, fun and brutal. Nasty suplexes etc. The ending and post match stuff was very good. Poor Mina caught in the middle this time! I don't think she was coming down to celebrate with you, Mariah!

MVP! Shit, your job is in peril there, Nana! Or... MVP will bring in his own client if Swerve isn't willing to talk business!

Main event was insane, but I really don't like Moxley winning, unless Darby wins the World title from Moxley somewhere down the line, then it was fine, I guess? The match itself was a gruelling war!

I usually don’t. @Technico Support asked a question.

Matt's just mad that you're biting his length of musing 😉

How about this: Instead of Lashley, as mentioned by someone else above, Montavious (had to write it) just brings out a healed-up Hobbs. There you go; you get to have your cake (Hurt Business) and eat it too (still keeping AEW OG talent in the game).

Danielson really does need that surgery. He’s been in character on AEW screen but very much off character in interviews. Every match is a blessing right now.

If I could ban two things from pro wrestling forever, it’d be evil authority figures and MitB-type “anytime, anywhere” title shots.

Also the use of “each and every one of you” and “championship opportunity.”

Give me a Hobbs, Lio Rush, Lashley with MVP Hurt Business please. Feels like a good mix and a way to elevate two younger current AEW guys. If Keith Lee ever gets healthy can come back to help Swerve. Add one more guy Swerve's side and there's a solid trios title feud that feels important.

Sure, let’s throw in Lee Moriarty, Shane Taylor, Lee Johnson, and The Infantry too!  Or how about no?  I’m like the Incredibles meme except instead of “no capes!” I’m like “no more race-based stables!”

Good to know, I thought they’ve just been playing that up for TV to make him even more sympathetic

I kinda love that someone as much of a scrub (TM JLowe, kudos!) as Sabien be the one that fucks over Christian all the time. It's kind of the ultimate insult to a guy that happens to HAVE the ultimate insult.

Guess if they really want to separate Swerve from both the title and Hangman then they bring out Lashley? Is that something we want or no? In any case Nana was, once again, the actual MVP. Give him all the moneys.

“Scrubs” is what we called the jobbers when I was in middle school in the 80s. But Kip is a scrub, there are 20 guys who can do the same things he can that are either bigger, more athletic, more charismatic, or all 3 (Will)

I mean The Hurt Business was 3 swank well dressed black dudes just wrecking everyone. Would be a pretty bad recreation of that stable to not use the same format in AEW. Instead of Shelton & Cedric I pitched Hobbs & Lio. Lio has a history with Lashley (was his manager) & Hobbs would gain so much being in a swank stable and letting MVP do his talking. But sure reduce it down to a race thing if you want, instead of looking for good fits for the established stable they are recreating.

I totally agree with this but I admit my first thought after that promo was that they should stick Hobbs with him, but mostly because I feel like MVP could get him over as dangerous in a way that AEW has totally failed to so far.

Grand slam indeed! Danielson v Nigel kicks off a magnificent broadcast. The stammer start with the music was slightly awkward, but no sweat. Yes, 'Thank You'! Incredible showing from Nigel. Cage/Sabian and the pen were silly, but I suppose whatever gets us to that excellent Pac/Claudio cameo. Roddy v Hook was fantastic. Roderick is such a special talent. Maybe even the true learning tree! The Taz moment post match was nice, but the retiring of this worthless belt even better. Good mic work from Hook. Bucks v Ospreay/Fletcher was dazzling. Pure joy. It's amazing watching the timing and execution from these next level pros. Not a good week to pretend the Bucks aren't a fuckingfantastic tag team. Nana/MVP promo was tremendous. I'm new to P, but bring on the business. Especially hope they find Benjamin a good tag partner. 'Oh, oh, but they're too old.'  Mariah v Yuka was so much better than this sleepy crowd would have you believe. Mariah worked very well with Yuka, who can be very inconsistent. Willow-Mariah, fuck yes! I'm taking Darby v Mox for an encore spin, but what I saw of the match looked as excellent as I would expect. A lot of drippy critics talking about Darby looking like an idiot. Mox presented a worthy challenge and Darby is a fighter. It's not the first or last match he'll lose, and it doesn't matter one bit. The post match angle was fun. I liked seeing Komander and the Privates getting in the mix, and I loved seeing them take a bit of a beating. Danielson! Yes! AEW! Yes!!!

You know, Wardlow looks really good in a suit, is pretty tight with Hobbs off screen, and has been off TV long enough to grow back the hair...

I loved the tag match but it did have maybe two near falls too many.  But I did enjoy the story and the finish.  I'd love to hear some posters here articulate why they hate the Bucks so.

Lashley, Wardlow, & Hobbs would be like an Evolution stable of all Batistas. I change my vote to this lol.

I'm not feeling this Bryan & Mox match at all. So been there / done that.

Well yes, they've wrestled a number of times in AEW. But didn't Mox win every one of those matches? If I'm right, that almost requires them to run the match back now that Danielson is world champion.

I loved Dragon v Nigel. Amazing that we got to see it and a match so them in execution. Basically a love letter with all the WOS, grappling, call backs and Nigel’s very British exceptence of his fate (yes, he clearly said fuck you). Two old mates doing great pro-wrestling.

See, when I was growing up in the '90s, a scrub was a guy that can't get no love from me, hangin' out the passenger side of his best friend's ride, trying to holla at me.

I think I've said this before, but they (along with Kenny Omega) fall into the same category for me; they are athletically gifted, and I think they can do amazing things, but I find them highly annoying and would rather not watch them. They're all better cast as heels, because their personalities fit better as heels, but I don't want to see them beat up or anything, I just don't want to see them.

I don't think it's anything bigger than that. They hit me in a very aesthetically unpleasing way. I have liked matches with all of them in it (I still think Hangman/Omega vs the Bucks is one of AEW's best matches), but given the choice, I'd skip their matches because something about them just makes my skin crawl.

See now this is rare occasion where I shake my fist cursing the “no gifs or memes” rule because I mean…Michael Keaton is right there.
