Film critic Gene Shalit turned 98 yesterday. Let's relive the greatest sentence ever written in a movie review:7 points

The real key is to lightly saute your pineapple and some jalapenos together before you put them on the pizza. Then go with ham and a honey drizzle and a hot sauce base.5 points

I am sorry, my dear friend, but that's a federal holiday here in the states so I'm gonna say HELL YES to that! ...but otherwise agreed 1000%.4 points

From your front porch to my front seat The Forbidden Door's open but the ride ain't free..4 points

Ospreay vs Shibata and Swerve vs Takeshita on the same show, I fucking love pro wrestling.4 points

My favorite pizza for years now has been pineapple, mushroom, and jalapeno, but I never thought of sauteeing the pineapple and jalapenos together. That sounds really good.3 points

Ben Gazzara doesn't get enough credit for the gleeful chewing of scenery he does playing what's essentially an R-rated A-Team villain...3 points

The shift in public perception of celebs doing commercials is like this, too. Back in the day, celebs would sneak off to Japan to make that sweet, secret advertising money. Today we have Oscar winners shilling everything in broad daylight.3 points

I really wish they'd stop putting Takeshita in positions where he has to lose.3 points

Got tickets for the May 15th Dynamite. They are gonna be just north of Seattle in Everett, hope Swerve is champ by then.3 points

Yep, that's probably the most famous example of that happening. It's funny we went from that to popular artists flying overseas to perform at birthdays for the kids of Saudi royalty and not a hint of controversy.3 points

Love Proops. We went to see him in DC years ago and made his day by giving him an old set of Negro League postcards I had. but my personal number one is Tony Slattery.3 points

Was a near thing at times in the last two months, but ultimately made the call not to head up. We had some family stuff in February that I didn't know how it'd fall and it fell just bad enough that we made the decision to treat the kids on Spring Break with a trip. Just got back from that (and they had a blast) but the time off work and expense and some lingering stuff pushed the needle far enough that it doesn't make sense for me to take off two more days from work and miss a couple of extra days with the kids and burden the wife. I hope everyone has a great time though and I'll catch the show on IWTV and hopefully write it up on SC as Phil and Eric will be busy creating history as the modern day Toots Mondt and Jack Pfefer.3 points

I forgot to mention that in my post last night. That long camera shot was so beautiful. Just followed the action and let it speak for it self. Under Kevin Dunn there would have been probably 50 cuts back and forth in 45 seconds. It's nice not to have motion sickness while watching the WWE.3 points

If you want a copy of the show you have to do it the way god intended: send a money order for $27 to the sketchiest person you've ever met on the internet then wait 6-8 weeks for the VHS tape that also contains the last half of Desperado taped off of Showtime.3 points

So we're into another week and we're a few weeks from Dynasty. Here's what's on tap from Quebec! TABERNACK!2 points

Kingdom match was good shit so I'd say that too.2 points

It's Swerve's time. Really, it was Swerve's time 3 months ago. It's a new AEW and your top babyface is Will Ospreay and your top heel is Kazuchika Okada, so if they don't pull the trigger on Swerve now it'll be too late real quick.2 points

The other territories would use Kung Fu Fighting, Memphis would actually give him two videos and break out Dance the Kung Fu as well.2 points

They need to have a duck character who Rubble gives an envelope full of cash to every week, you know so everything on the job site works smoothly.2 points

Tony announced the rankings! return again after Dynamite and Swerve/Takeshita will be for the #1 spot. Other matches added are Skye vs Statlander vs Anna Jay vs Willow for a TBS title shot at Dynasty, with Mercedes Mone on commentary and Trent/Orange vs Undisputed Kingdom in the tag tournament.2 points

I missed the first 9-10 minutes of the Brutus episode. I might not have entirely paid attention to the detail about his face being crushed. You gotta admit, they did one hell of a job on his face. To the point that his face is holding up better than his current wife's face.2 points

New York is a Union Town, so all I know is Rubble better have all his permits in order and make sure the site is safe and secure before building because otherwise... Oh, and he'd better be ready for the code enforcement inspection of his little 7 year old life, because I'm sure code is different when a fucking stadium is built by a dog.2 points

Weirdly enough the Young Bucks have an uncanny ability to make Private Party seem important. I struggle to say this without grinding my teeth, but any haters and habitual fast-forwarders should keep an eye on what they're doing under their new gimmick.1 point

"I Need You To Beat Me" is Ospreay's "Hard Times", to me. It's an intense, fiery promo, in the same vein as these Babyface promos he has been cutting in AEW.1 point

Also, TNT was showing "Quiet on the Set" last night. Rough stuff to watch as I grew up on All That and was a big fan of Drake and Josh's buddy comedy formula. I turned it off after the Drake Bell episode as I just couldn't take much more. Some of the stuff didn't seem so bad, out of context, but added up, it builds the case of just how messed up those sets were.1 point

Or Tony could look in the mirror and realize his refusal to do something when the issues with Punk and The Elite started and deciding to ignore it and hope it went away is what led to everything going to shit. Punk doing what he did wasn't a matter of "If" but "When", if it wasn't Perry who set him off it would've been something else.1 point

WWE uploading one of the classics onto YouTube: Among the moments.. 5 elbow drops, a shoe shot that’s paused because as we recall from 1996 WCW, women’s shoes are lethal, Warrior talking to his hands, Warrior pinning Savage with a foot on the chest, and also a variety of crowd shots of Elizabeth that lead up to the big moment at the end where every crying woman in the arena got on camera also a match with Bobby Heenan veering between neutral and heel commentator a very sports entertainment sort of match1 point
