  1. They came over to my house and interviewed me for three hours. I gave them every detail of that night of FMW in one sitting without notes. It was a lot, mentally fried me the rest of the interview, as it was very detailed. So they had all the information, but time wise cut to the chase. Don't know why they said school yard when I specifically told them a park. I also got them Ricky, Arai's daughter, and Hayabusa's daughter for the show.

  5. Update is that our tests all came back negative today so we are just going to try to isolate the 9 year old. It's obviously good we don't have it as of yet but it's a little baffling since we're all in close quarters and didn't really isolate the 9 year old yesterday until we got the positive test back. So for now, we're cautiously optimistic but we'll have to retest in a few days and we're waiting for the other shoe to drop. Things would have been much clearer if we all turned out to be positive as we expected. The 9 year old's fever is lower today and hopefully that means this will run its course without escalation. Just a lot of uncertainty all around but more good news than not relatively so far today.

  8. The WWE brand extension fundamentally doesn't work and never has. The reason it doesn't work is because WWE can not truly allow SmackDown and Raw to compete with one another. Already they are having to manage expectations between their broadcast partners and not upsetting them that one gets cooler toys over the other. It's not a real competition. It's a facade of competition because of the Monday Night Wars. Having separate rosters makes no sense. When they get scared about ratings, they send stars from one show to another. Or they drop the brand rules entirely when it's convenient. Becky Lynch was allowed to switch to SmackDown because...why? Wrestlers can just declare themselves for the Royal Rumble why? It's shit booking.

  9. Good job BAHU. The interviews this week were great and really lent some authenticity to this episode.

  14. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Pat McAfee said his SmackDown commentary role isn’t that profitable for him but he does it because he loves it: McAfee also said he assumes he’s going to wrestle another match at some point: Pat McAfee is one of my favourite wrestling commentators, he's taken to it very quick.

  16. I was half-awake during the first viewing of Sammy-Miro, but saw Sammy winning and thought it was cool. After re-watching it, it's an awesome match and was really well built throughout the match to lead up to that finish. For most of the match, it looked like Miro would retain again, but Sammy survived the big thrust kick and evaded Game Over, and Miro lost it after that. Not quite among the all-time greatest AEW matches (though that's a really fucking high bar to clear already), but an excellent TV main event and well worth taking the title of a hot performer (and it's big to win a title in AEW, especially with the current stacked roster). On the whole, it was a strong follow-up to the epic Grand Slam week, and started advancing programs and wrestlers for future big events. I could see this being start the FTR push for the titles again (and the heel tag team side is a bit thin with just them and the Bucks as legitimate contenders for a PPV match at the moment).

  19. Anthony Carelli was like ten years too early. Imagine him doing the Santino schtick but he’s allowed to work a serious Battle Arts style when things get heavy. It’d be like that awesome Elimination Chamber where it came down to him and Bryan.

  20. So, I’m working in child and youth services over here in Germany and every few weeks I’m watching AEW while “working” when I couldn’t make the time to watch live or before going to work. Today I was watching a little Rampage and two thirteen-year-old boys who know absolutely nothing about wrestling recognized Orange Cassidy. Told me how cool his whole hands-in-his-pocket-thing is and that they’ve seen him on TikTok several times. Thought that was kinda cool. Also, I’m really glad that AEW has one advertised women’s match on almost every show because our ten-year-old girl always asks when/if women are wrestling.

  26. Wonder who the Joker is going to be. Looking at that match graphic, I don't see Matt Hardy, OC, or Jon Moxley winning it. PAC or Andrade I could see being a TV title defense for Omega right now, but I'm really leaning heavy into thinking Lance Archer takes it. Also, I'm going to put this in spoilers because I don't know if anyone mentioned it or it matters, but...

  27. Still it’s an awesome EC match, might be my favourite one because of the whole Santino factor and excellent finishing stretch. Way different to your classic 6 main eventers type of match. Highly recommended.

  30. Just finished playing Inside, the followup to Limbo from Playdead. You play a boy trapped in some dystopian nightmare future of giant factories, massive flooding, killer mermaids, and zombies(?) you can control. It's a 2D puzzle platformer with tremendous animation and atmosphere. The game is 99% black and white with just the occasional bit of color breaking through. I found myself pleased with the graphics though I generally detest anything (movies, TV, games, etc) that's done in B&W. It generally controls well with only the occasional frustration, usually involving turning dials/handles when time is short. It's a short game - I took roughly 5-1/2 hours which is apparently well above the norm for completion - but it feels a LOT longer. I found myself playing in 20-30 minute bursts and they felt much longer. So...is it any good? Well, yeah. The puzzles are good with well-thought-out solutions and, as I mentioned, the controls and graphics are terrific. So...is it great? Well, no. Overall, I'd say 7/10. Worth every penny I paid for it since it was free ? I uninstalled it after completing it and definitely won't ever pick it up again but it's worth a shot if you're looking for a 2D puzzle platformer that has a very unique atmosphere.

  32. They just did matches to promote upcoming movies that were streaming same-day on HBO Max (Kong Vs. Godzilla: Bear Country vs Jurassic Express / Space Jam 2: The Super Elite vs The Dark Order & Hangman Page). And when the app first launched, that's when they had the ring skirts and stuff with the HBO Max logo and whatnot, I'm pretty sure.

  37. I was curious about the last Halloween Havoc pay-per-view, which was the 2000 one. The poster tickles me, especially with the knowledge of how the Sting/Jarrett match went: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BNTEyZDk5OGItZDZiZi00ZDI4LTlmYjQtMjE5MDIxN2RjNTZiXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMjkxODI3MTY@.jpg From Wikipedia: In the next match Jeff Jarrett defeated Sting. While Sting made his way to the ring, a man dressed as Sting from early in his career attacked him, however Sting was able to hit the Scorpion Death Drop on him. Following this, another Sting dressed in his early 1990s look attacked him, followed by one dressed the way he did as part of the nWo Wolfpac. Toward the end of the match, while Sting had Jarrett in the Scorpion Deathlock, a Crow-era Sting came through the ring mat and pulled Sting back under with him. After Sting was able to escape, he went for the Scorpion Death Drop on Jarrett, however before he could the lights went out and another Crow Sting came from the rafters, who the real Sting hit a Scorpion Death Drop on through the announce table. Following this, another fake Sting broke a guitar over Sting’s head, followed by Jarrett breaking one over Sting’s head, enabling Jarrett to pick up the pinfall victory. Also, the main event was the Goldberg/KroniK handicap elimination match that went less than four minutes.

  43. i watched all of Wrestling Society X over the last couple of weeks. You remember, MTV's short lived wrestling promotion/show? anyway, i have some thoughts: the first episode was fast, brash, and in your face. i don't mean that in a good way. Lots of stuff happening, but nothing meant anything. the announcers were very offputting and distracting. none of the musical guest commentators ever added anything resembling worthwhile input. The first match was Matt Sydal vs. Jack Evans. it was sub-5 minutes with lots of spots. Actually, i don't know if that's completely accurate. More fair to say that it was 5 minutes of spots with a semi-semblance of a wrestling match. I'm not always against spotfests, but this took it to a whole different stratusphere. The main event was a Royal Rumble style match, but with weapons. Also, there is tables and electrified fencing set up near ringside. Also, somebody brought in thumbtakcs. Also also, once everyone had entered, it turned into a double ladder match, with the two winners facing off next week for the inaugural title. While people are getting thrown into the electrified fencing, there are other big bumps being taken in the ring. The show didn't give you a chance to register what is happening before the next thing is already happening. Anyway, Syxx-Pac and Vampiro win the right to compete next week. Vampiro wins the title, has one defense (against Judas Mesias, in his first and only match for the promotion) which he loses. He never gets involved with anyone else in the company, save Syxx-Pac. i guess that's another gripe i have. Everybody was isolated from everybody else. There was no interaction, no real "feuds", nothing to tell you "WHY". OK, so the first episode pretty much is its own thing. After this, the matches are still spotfests, but not at full speed all the time. Close, but enough so you can actually comprehend what's happening. But after this episode, the crazy stipulations are held back to one (or fewer) per episode. It's still crazy (i'm looking at you, season finale of time bomb cage match AND pirahna tank death match) but more.... subdued isn't the word at all, but i'm going to use it anyway. It's all relative. Also, episode 1 features Justin Credible, and New Jack, and Chris Hamrick, all guys who it leads you to believe will be part of the promotion. Nope. one shots for all of them. the tag team division is a mess. it felt like every team won and lost against every other team. No hierarchy as to who should be in title contention, no feuds (again), and a face/heel dynamic that seemed to shift regularly. Hard to get behind anybody when you don't know when you'll see them again, who they'll be facing, or whether they are supposed to be cheered or not. They tease a tag team title tournament for season 2, but that obviously never comes to fruition. i enjoyed it as a novelty, but 10 episodes of 20 minutes each were definitely enough. Interesting how many future AEW wrestlers are here (Scorpio Sky, Jack Evans, Matt Sydal, Colt Cabana as Matt Classic. I half expected to see the Bucks show up at any moment). Next up: Global Force Wrestling (2015)
