  1. So that's why he started the sleaze thread.

  2. Jonathan Coachman also recently mentioned that Undertaker was directed to shoot rough him up during an in-ring angle because he'd refused to go to a mandatory completely voluntary Tribute to the Troops show. Of course, years later, Taker and the guy who told him to beat up an employee are making a shit ton of money off the KSA. So to reiterate: Skipping out on bullshit post 9/11 performative patriotism: bad Taking money from the country who literally bankrolled 9/11: no problem

  4. Honestly, the videos weren't even my idea. One of my dads co-workers, his son was a big wrestling fan too. He was about 19-20 and I was 15 when that video was made. We shot all of them at his house and he did the post-production and all of that. The reason being, I would go over to his house to watch wrestling PPVs (he would get a bunch of his other friends to come over as well) and we would watch the shows. Well I was at his house posting on here during the "breaking news about Randy Orton at One Night Stand" where I got banned from here. I told them all what happened and he had the brilliant idea of shooting a video on it. Regardless, I got a lot of shit from other places because of that too lol I never wanted to really be a meme about the whole thing but kind of accepted it for what it was because it's about the only thing the wrestling community knows me for. However, I'm 30 now so I've just grown up and away from it.

  5. CM Punk and Owen Hart both back in the landscape of professional wrestling in 2021. I really am not trying to be morbid here, but man - that Brodie show may have changed the course of the entire business judging by some of the comments Punk made. It's so sad what happened, especially with the Rochester show looming next week, but damn it all Brodie and AEW changed the business. For the better. That man, that heartfelt tribute show - everything.

  8. Going back tot he previous page regarding the Undertaker.....so I would imagine it's pretty well accepted at this point that the Undertaker is a massive scumbag?

  10. It does feel like Tony Khan has a big list of the worst things to happen in wrestling and he's trying to make them right for peace of mind, fun, and profit.

  12. I was just wondering the same thing. Yeah, their roster is huge and people are hungry for TV time but this run is likely going to be it for having Minoru Suzuki on your show. I hope so. Minoru vs. Danielson, please and thank you.

  13. I've got goosebumps. I'm at least 85% sure that the "Thank you for comming to Japan. Please come back" was from when Kingston, Fire Ant, and Green Ant came to Osaka pro in September of 2011. The Kenji who signed it is presumably my very good friend the Osaka Pro super-fan, and Keigo is presumably Keigo Yoshino, Osaka Pro referee and announcer who was also in charge of bringing in and taking care of foreign talent. If so, I believe I had a small hand in making that (I was sometimes asked to help with/proofread English language stuff. Me: You spelled "coming" wrong. Them: OK). Oh boy did we ever love Eddie Kingston. A whole bunch of Chikara guys came over in October 2010 and they were so obviously delighted to be there that heels often tossed us a nod and a wink when they were heeling it up. Not Eddie. He never cracked a smile. We booed him like crazy, relentlessly. He frequently teamed up with my good friend Kuuga, and Kenji and Kae and I would scream at them and they would yell at us and flip us off. "Please come back" was meant with 100% sincerity, if indeed that was my friend Kenji who signed it. It warms my heart to see that in the video and imagine it still has some meaning for Kingston. I can't find any pics from that tour at the moment, but I do have some from the 2010 Chikara tour, specifically the Haloween party/show. Kae (the goat), Dasher (who is working AEW this week!) and Kenji Stigma, me, and Vin. UnStable! EDIT: I just got confirmation (from Kae) that it was definitely us who wrote that letter. She remembers him being moved when they gave it to him. Also, that's my boy Mihara that Kingston is suplexing in the Japanese magazine at 1:00!

  14. I think Eddie Kingston is just head and shoulders above everyone else promo-wise right now. Wow.

  15. It's possible. I wonder tho if even knowing Bret and Martha don't get along, if he's just happy Owen is finally going to be part of the wrestling community again. It's just me guessing here. But I think with Bret's love for the wrestling business, and Owen's memory finally being allowed to be a part of it, he's probably very happy about it. A lot of their grudge is over her not letting Owen's memory be associated with wrestling anymore. So maybe this helps their relationship a bit.

  17. I'm wondering if the AEW is going to keep using Suzuki past Grand Slam, since he's now got indie bookings stretching into the end of October (including BLOODSPORT!) EDIT: I shall now refer to AEW as "the AEW"

  23. I don't think so - he, of course, has appeared in AEW but he was worried about Natalya being punished apparently if he did too much. Can't see him not appearing again when the tournament happens though. Ultimately The Owen Hart Foundation is going to level up in a big way and that's just great.

  26. If someone had stolen Little Guido's Italian Flag and pissed and shit on it, that would have been just fine? If someone had stolen a Mexican flag off Eddy or Rey and pissed and shit on it, that would have been just fine? If someone had messed with Fit Finlay's Irish Flag... ok, nobody would be that stupid, never mind.

  33. I only like Mark Henry on Rampage commentary for one reason and you really have to pay close attention to it. Mark has about zero awareness for when he should and shouldn't say something. Every time he has been on commentary, and again, you have to be paying attention, you will hear him react as a fan and like he doesn't know his headset is on. One of those times was when Punk came out the first time on Rampage. Everyone is quiet and all of a sudden out of nowhere you hear this "WOW!" that is just disconnected from everything else. There's other examples too, but that's the main one I can think of. It's just so innocent and it just makes me laugh. Other than that, I don't think he's quick enough for commentary and it's especially hard when you have three others talking over you, or when Jericho is there, the equivalent of something like 10 people talking over you.

  34. AEW announced a partnership with the Owen Hart foundation. So they'll be making official Owen Hart merch, action figures, and he'll be in the videogames. And they're doing an annual Owen Hart tournament where the winner gets a trophy called The Owen. In other news, Davey Boy Smith jr signed with WWE last month but hasn't been assigned to a brand yet. Or sent to the PC either.

  36. What Dreamer said was stupid and reprehensible, but I've seen and heard enough stories about him being a nice person that I won't condemn him to hell for it. Let him miss this next set of Impact tapings, go to some sensitivity training and issue a public apology and that should be good enough. But the internet being the internet, I'm sure there's already a video of someone burning hin in effigy.

  40. JR generally strikes me as about as subtle as a Monty Python skit. if we're not supposed to insert "nudge nudge wink wink" into most of his statements about breast implants, working through injuries, steroids, etc., I don't know what to say.

  41. Ross always seems to try to play the middle card. While acknowledging that it was, in fact, his job, he also deflected and claimed that he only did what he was told to. That's not how it works. You either make talent decisions (regarding hiring, firing, punishments, etc.) or you don't. which is it? Also, when asked about Ric Flair's lack of punishment, JR said that Flair was a "made man" and wondered aloud if that was right or not. YOU FUCKING ALREADY KNOW THAT'S NOT RIGHT. Fire him, fine him, take him off the road, send him to counseling/rehab, do SOMETHING. Just ignoring it and letting that behavior continue is ABSOLUTELY ABHORRENT. I know Vince is ultimately the one true boss, but if your VP of TR is letting shit like this happen, he needs severe repercussions. In any normal company, Ric Flair, Dustin, and numerous other people would have been fired as soon as they landed. Ross would also have consequences for letting that go on while he was there. Fuck that old time "boys will be boys" mentality.

  43. It’s less weird when you think of them as carny transients who also just happened to be on national tv every week, and that someone who could persevere in such a fickle and sordid industry had to be a self-regarding maniac. Honestly, wrestling locker rooms being inherited by a bunch of jacked up video game nerds was for the best.
