Rasslin' Video Games

Well I'll be on vacation but hope the wifi is sufficient for getting it on Switch.  I'll get a feel for things then get it for Xbox when I get home.  I'm just glad we finally got a release date though.

I'm not even sure what system I'll get this on. I've been playing the Series X so much lately that I'm almost inclined to get it for that, but then I think that I'm getting Diablo 4 on both PC and PS5 that maybe I'll get it for that.

I suppose I'll just have to cross my fingers that OperationSports and other sites get review copies early and can do a performance comparison. I also wonder if this is going to have cross play.

Wondering the same on cross play and ps4 performance.

Here’s hoping since this is a wrestling game and not some 1-200gb open world game but I’ll wait anyways.

Is there any buzz about the gameplay?  Anything I look up is either old or somebody playing 2k23.

They posted a “full” match between Omega and Cole. That was last year, I think, and while rough around the edges, looked pretty fun.

I imagine once we get into June there will be a blitz of more information before the release at the end of the month.

I'm going to buy it but I'm pretty nervous about it, both for them and for me. A new engine, lots of hype, lots of pressure and lots of people on social media that are hoping it fails and will post every poor animation they can find. I still don't think it was a great idea to roll this out so early in the promotion's existence and spend the money they did, but its their money, not mine so what can ya do. I just want a fun arcade-style game, I'm not expecting perfection or the best wrestling game ever. I just want it to be fun to play and have enough modes that it has some longevity so I don't play it once for five hours and never play it again like I sometimes do the WWE games.

When they showed the game off at whatever expo that was, someone got a handfuls of videos of them playing it because no one else was. The person taking the videos and the videos themselves basically said the game was pretty good and played a lot like the AKI games. The split second hitch between moves was gone and the animations looked pretty smooth.

I wouldn't say I'm nervous about the game, but I wish we could fast forward in time to when the second iteration of this comes out. Basically, I'd like to skip right over WCW/nWo vs the World or even the PS1 game that came out and get right to WCW/nWo Revenge or even WrestleMania 2000 where that chisel was sharpened to the point it could cut through hardwoods with no problem.

Feel like the main ticking timebomb at this point is how small and out of date the roster will be. If they have concrete  plans for DLC packs or ongoing support they'd do well to get specifics out there really quick after the final roster is announced. Wonder if they were able to work on post-launch content throughout the delay

Just looking at that picture with the blood I am wondering what was actually toned down on this.   Did they have beheadings and chainsaws in the original version?  Wrestling fans love blood in their wrestling but jesus not if every match looks like JBL vs Eddie Guerrero in 2004

FYI, if you watch the video of this on YouTube later, the frame rate drops aren't frame rate drops. They're on hotel wifi and relying on that for streaming so it's the video and not the game.
