And costs $20???? Get the fuck out of here. It's the equivalent of the NWO pack from 22 and Ruthless Aggression pack from 23, they just didn't have it ready at launch day to make it obvious, for some dumbass reason. At least it's all alt versions and not actual new people like the packs in the season pass.
Cliff Hanger
It's impossible to miss, but locker code WRESTLEMANIAXL gets you Cody and Bayley cards and a pack of skill boosters. A big step down from last year's offering, which had 2 packs of the Wrestlemania cards. The entire life of MyFaction has been 2k Games saying "well, we gave them too much good shit for free and so they spent less money." In 22, every DLC character got an Evolution card, which meant you could grind them out over time and not feel tempted to spend real money. Last year, they were cut back to non-grindable cards but were mostly good enough to get you thru all the content for the first 6 months. This year, all the options, both RMT and earned currency, are way more expensive, the free cards are lower tier, and for the first time it's entirely possible to save earned points for 2 weeks, buy a limited edition booster, and not get any of the limited edition characters. I really want Shield Rollins and Toy Hogan, but I feel more and more like I'm gonna tap out before those things are winnable. Fucking around in Universe continues, and I noticed something that isn't huge in the grand scheme but is the right kind of dumb to piss me off: i booked a match between Fallon Henley and Ivy Nile, and both of them brought their tag teams with them (the roster having been finalized before Briggs and Brooks broke up.) In both cases, the trio came out as though it was a tag match--the men's music and chyron, Alicia announcing the men, the women doing their "manager" entrances instead of their "combatant" ones. Cliff Hanger
Finished the "Unleashed" story. The final act really wanted to bring some genuine emotion, but really did not earn it. I'm also annoyed that only the men's story unlocks the unique Wrestlemania set--the women's final boss fight just happens at WM39. Oh well, at least I got a few neat costume pieces and the fictional indy arenas from last year. Game goes on the shelf for a while now, I'm a little wrestlinged out. Zimbra
Jamie Hayter DLC is out for Fight Forever today, for both of us still playing. Been playing a lot of KOC2 on the Steam deck and I still love it as much as I did 20 years ago.
SirSmUgly
Retro wrestling games what didn't age very well report: WWF War Zone isn't very good, but I respect it. I think I said here that it was such a leap from the LJN games that I still have that residual feeling of, whoa, this looks way the hell better. It's a real graphical jump. You look at WWF RAW on 32X and then look at War Zone on PSOne and think to yourself, "Well, what the hell was the point of the 32X?" I do think War Zone is still playable...if you don't mind pausing the game to scroll the move list about fifty times per match. WWF Attitude: See WWF War Zone, with the added note that I love this roster, but that Head should have been screwed onto the top of a Head and Shoulders bottle (tm) a la KotR '98. WCW Mayhem: This isn't good, and it's a real bummer when your first unlocked wrestler ends up being *checks notes* Bobby Blaze, what the fuck?! There's a glimmer of something decent here, though. Now, there is a rumor, and I don't know how true it is, that EA had enlisted AKI to make a new WCW game with a new engine after AKI finished up developing WWF No Mercy that ended up becoming Def Jam Vendetta. Can you imagine? I think Def Jam: Fight For New York is legit one of the greatest fighting games ever, so I'm glad we got that, but if WCW had lived, kept their deal with EA, and then we got a series of WCW games in the Vendetta engine, now that sounds like a good time, man. AJ Styles versus Crowbar in the Vendetta engine, hell yeah. Edited April 11 by SirSmUgly 4

I've been wanting to pickup a ps1 sometime to play some of the old classics I still have like WarZone and I always had fun with Attitude back in the day. Recently grabbed Mayhem for n64. Definitely not very good but I love the crazy roster like Bobby Blaze! Also the only game to ever include Bobby Eaton (and Bobby Duncum Jr. too among others) Only ever rented Def Jam, but would love to give that another go again.

dragonzombie
The confusion online however, is that people mix up WCW 2000 and WCW Mayhem 2. Both were two different games. WCW 2000 was going to made by EA Canada, and Mayhem 2 was going to be made by AKI under EA. I think AKI redone all the animations for Def Jam. WCW 2000 would just been the PS2 ported version of Backstage Assault. https://forums.lostmediawiki.com/thread/7803/wwf-backlash-n64-mayhem-2000 3
Cliff Hanger
I forgot how terrible the Firepro download interface is on Playstation. I woke up with the idea that I was gonna find the best versions of a few of my current faves before work, but that absolutely did not happen.
Ramo2653
So I think I can say if they fixed the targeting in multi-man matches, WWE2K24 would be really good. And maybe if the ref counted quicker.

Cliff Hanger
Roman's ula lei is going up in a live event tomorrow. It's the first of the unlockable "Oddities" costume parts we've seen since the game launched with Cody's "ugly" mask (in a live event match which was retired on 4/1) and the Stardust gear (still unlockable). No word on how long the card will be available, or when any of the Trick and Seth sets which actually unlock alternate character versions will start to drop. Cliff Hanger
So the May 1 Faction update in 2k24 is out. To get the costume pieces, which are all anyone but the damaged people will care about, first: The Live Event for Roman's Ula Lei was not that hard, but the reward wheel has 10 items on it: 5 booster packs, 3 spots of the tokens you use for the one store (1x, 2x and 3x), and not one but two Oddities cards/edit parts, the lei and the "Umaga's Waist Wrap" piece.) Tomorrow they are taking two more challenges with costume pieces live: a 4v4 tag with The People's Elbow Pad and a match vs Rock with Rocky Maivia's Entrance (no idea if this will have music or just the costume pieces and ramp poses). That last one will likely only be up for a couple days since it's tied to the Rock's birthday, but probably won't be that difficult to burn thru even if you have to do it the maximum of 4 times. Other stuff: 1) locker code WWEDRAFT2K24 will work until Friday night and get you two booster packs 2) no new boss quartets. Hopefully this changes in a couple weeks with the ECW guys.
Cliff Hanger
Update: the elbow pad and Rocky Maivia entrance kit are only available til Sunday at noon EDT. The 1v1 fight with the Rock isn't bad at all, the 8-person tag matches for the elbow pad is pretty annoying because you're required to use much lower level cards than the enemy team, but that mostly just means it takes 3-4 finishers on the same victim for them to stay down for 3. (There are 2 of those, 1 for men and 1 for women, so I guess you're getting points instead of the second elbow pad)
Ramo2653
Cliff Hanger, thanks for the draft code, totally missed that one. There's another code that's plastered all over the game for Backlash: MONFACTION Finished off the Rocky BDay event you're right in that wasn't too hard (I used my Grayson Waller from the Heat series and it took 1 special and 2 finishers usually). The Roman challenge took me a few days since he can seemingly hit that damn spear with no space between you and you need to beat it 10 times to get everything. But between that and the 8 man tag matches, I got bunch of stuff including the Ruby Bronson Reed, Bron Breakker from the Beast series and a Rick Steiner from the same pack. Upcoming Live Events include the Rhodes family (feat. Taker) vs Bloodline in 4 parts and you'll need the Dusty from the Legends series, the Cody from the Wrestlemania 40 series and the Taker from the Backlash series which was just released. Winning those cards will get you a Ruby Undashing Cody, a Ruby Dusty and a Ruby Cody which you'll need for a 6 man tag against Roman, Solo and Rock to get a Amethyst Umaga, and Cody's weight belt and his robe. Whew. Also the Oddities section is better defined now and lists what you need to unlock more cards including the Trick Williams '22 and 2015 Seth which are person cards that can be used in all other modes. I feel like this is where they try to get you to cough up money to get more packs to get cards for these events. I tried to explain this mode to some friends who game and I made their heads spin since there's 4 different in game currencies in just the MyFaction mode plus the currency to unlock the shop items in the regular game modes. Yeah, the "Faction Focus" multi-stage events sucked last year and they'll suck even more this year since there's not even a guarantee that getting a deluxe booster pack will get you a card from that set at all. It's fucking bullshit. I really want the Seth and Trick Persona cards, but I meant it when I said I wasn't spending real money. If we could have this year's mode with 2022 levels of cash grabbing, I'd be in heaven
