odessasteps Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Pres/CEO of Bundesliga was interesting guest at Blazercon, talking about making inroads in US, definitely happy to be on Fox. Played up all the inrenational in the league. They had as many players in WC 14 as did the premier league. The NBC panel was also good. They showed outtakes from the ted lasso commercials. I got to talk to one of the producers after the panel, and complimented them on how many segments they have not showing the talent
AxB Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 UK & Ireland definitively better than the rest of the World. Bit of a funny game, you could tell why a few of them retired. Not often Darren Fletcher looks around the team and realises he's the fastest and most agile midfielder out there. And double Beckhams on the pitch because Brooklyn is absolutely good enough to be out there. At one point, Rio Ferdy was going to play. With Terry and Cole in the same defence. But then he changed his mind. Zizou wasn't there for obvious reasons, but the FFF says France vs England at Wembley is absolutely still going ahead no matter what.
sabremike Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 The announcer going " you've got to give the rest of the world credit" cracked me up.
sabremike Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Cosmos win NASL title with a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Fury. Fun game and Raul goes out a champion. Also ran into an old friend from high school I hadn't seen in years so all in all a great night. Just signed up for the ESC bus trip to Columbus. Cost: $27. Bus leaves at Midnight Saturday-Sunday, goes straight to Columbus and comes back right after the game. I'm going to need a lot of coffee. 1
odessasteps Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Why, are you driving? ---- Ray Hudson was great at blazer con, telling some moving stories about his first ever trip to the camp nou and hearing his commentary used for highlights in the stadium tour, including one of the climactic messi goals. 1
Joe Lucia Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 ...and he admitted he gets slightly aroused during beautiful goals. God, I wish I was recording that
RIPPA Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Germany/Holland canceled Stadium evacuated due to "security concern"
odessasteps Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Story i just read said a suitcase was found in side the stadium. Fans were initially kept out, then let in then evacuated. Merkel was scheduled to attend the match. I believe Camerson is attending england v france.
odessasteps Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 @dwsports BREAKING: Reports that German police have discovered a truck bomb disguised as an ambulance near football stadium in Hanover. #GERNED
Death From Above Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Wembley uniting to sing La Marseillaise while a bomb is being disarmed outside a stadium in Hanover. Wartime sports are a very strange sensation.
Dolfan in NYC Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Oof. Reports are fans whistled and booed during the moment of silence during Greece vs Turkey last night. Some say an "Allahu Akbar" chant broke out too. (I honestly do not hear it.) http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/soccer/video-soccer-fans-chant-allahu-akbar-paris-tribute-article-1.2438142
odessasteps Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Sporting KC's stadium will now be children's mercy park.
sabremike Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Wherever Oyaji and Chester are today is most certainly a pants-free zone. Poor Pete not so much.
odessasteps Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Good day so far for both merseyside teams.
Jiji Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 So pants free. Klopp's decision to start Firmino for his work ethic and technique in tight spaces has paid off in spades. I think people are starting to see the skill in attack Liverpool has. This is without Sturridge and Benteke. Talk of a complete rebuild I thought was a bit silly. City has had nothing on a attack due to the pressing throughout the entire pitch. Starting to see the power of gegenpressing.
Death From Above Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Coming off the back of Chelsea/Norwich this is like a different sport. Does Pedro have a purpose other than falling down? He's as bad as Costa with none of the goals.
SirFozzie Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Real Madrid got thrown in the Barca-Lounger. "Hey, we just went down 3-0 at home, and the other team put one of the five best players in the world on as a sub.. We have this!" (Isco gets sent off for sweeping Neymar's leg.. at the kneecap) "Never mind."
Death From Above Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Martin Skrtel is a fabulous adventure.
Cristobal Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 City lost. Arsenal lost. We're top of the table, right? *checks table* ...wut?
AxB Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Who's this 'we'? You don't get to use 'we' when you've never been within three miles of the stadium, let alone three thousand miles.
Raziel Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 I've been within 3000 miles of Old Trafford. Can I use "we"?
