Bustronaut Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Sue/Johnny being adopted answers the never asked question about why they develop different powers. Johnny being a hothead, and having the only black person on the team constantly engulfed in flames seems a tad racially/historically insensitive.
Eivion Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Huh? There was never a question of why they developed different powers.
Bustronaut Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 For the idiots that run movie studios there was.
Eivion Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 How do people that stupid manage to run those studios?
Raziel Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 How do people that stupid manage to run those studios big companies that command tons of money? FTFY
EVA Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I feel like Michael B. Jordan's casting has more to do with the fact that he 1) is awesome, and 2) previously worked with Josh Trank on CHRONICLE, and Trank wanted this awesome actor that he already had a relationship with in his first big studio movie than any kind of tokenism. Johnny is probably the best FF character to change his race, honestly. Your other options are making the black guy a grotesque monster or a guy who's power is to stretch parts of his body to absurd lengths. Even if you gender swap the Storm kids and make him the Invisible Boy, you're treading on some deep Ralph Ellison shit. 1

Casey Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I liked the first (most recent) Fantasic Four movie, but only because Julian McMahon is awesome at everything and I liked his Dr. Doom. 1
Brian Fowler Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Oh god no. The ruining of Doom was the worst part of the movies, and that's a difficult thing to pull off.
odessasteps Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Oh god no. The ruining of Doom was the worst part of the movies, and that's a difficult thing to pull off. Sounds like they are easily doing it in the new movie.
mco543 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Oh god no. The ruining of Doom was the worst part of the movies, and that's a difficult thing to pull off. Compared to the new movie, Julian McMahon's Doom is going to seem perfect. Although I am biased, I thought Julian McMahon was great because he played him like his character on Nip/Tuck.
Victator Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 How do people that stupid manage to run those studios big companies that command tons of money? FTFY God watches over idiots and children.
Buy Me a Burrito Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I missed the part where people saw the Doom in the new movie. Oh wait, they didn't. It's just speculation.
Brysynner Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Shhhhh that ruins the hive like mentality that this FF movie is gonna suck
Bustronaut Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 The "leaked" pic of Doom & Ben fighting matches up with the mummy on the hospital bed. OTOH, we haven't seen the final FF costumes, so Doom could have a different look by the end of the movie too.
Playa Shunna Ver 3.0 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I hope this answers the age old question of "Is the Thing's thing made or rock?".
Ligerbusa Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Deadpool has two cast members in Gina Carano as Angel Dust and T.J. Miller in an unknown role. Colossus is said to be in the movie as well. 1
Elsalvajeloco Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I guess the casting director didn't see In the Blood. Gina's acting range is somewhere in between "Ah, they forgot my fries" and "oh, there they are". 2
J.T. Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Angel Dust is an adrenaline surge mutant so I can't imagine she'll be asked to do much more than look hot and kick people in the face and she's already good at both of those things. 2
Elsalvajeloco Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Counter-point: she's real purdy. She isn't the only pretty chick in LA
TheVileOne Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Looks like they are going for a cheap b-movie cast for the film. If this film even gets a big theatrical release, I will be surprised. Based on what Reynolds said, the budget for the film is tiny. There is a reason other than Fast 6 most of her credits are Wal-Mart bargain bin fests.
