Why do you fucking tag him every time? Why is THAT the thing that's important to you? Jesus fuck dude, we get it. We know you don't like her and find his fandom offensive, and we know that he will rise to your hate-tag. And as someone who missed her entire career until the show where she broke her foot, this is RSPW shit. You are doing RSPW shit.15 points

That was the best Adam Page performance I’ve ever seen.9 points

I'm going to pivot away from where this is heading and say that AEW is slowly and consistently getting away from an underbooked woman's division. Would I still enjoy more matches, absolutely, but they built a great storyline with Toni/May/Mina while including the Saraya/Harley, Willow/Stat still has more legs to it and I'd argue that Banks/Baker last night felt like one of the biggest segments AEW has had for womens wrestling in a long time. You get Hayter back and build on what is going on, i really could see it growing by leaps and bounds even more post All In. May/Toni(if that's where they're heading) and Baker/Mone are two legit, high profiles matches with stories woven in that aren't just hamfisted slapped together. I really think AEW is finding their stride again.9 points

I mentioned this in the monthly thread but if ALL IN is looking like Swerve vs. Hangman 4 Toni Storm vs. Mariah May Mercedes Mone' vs. Dr. Britt Baker Will Ospreay vs. MJF That's a really strong start for the biggest show of the year...7 points

Just started watching the show. Immediately came here to see if anyone else noticed this dude. he’s driving me crazy. You’re literally the front row. Sit. Down.7 points

I'd be pissed off being behind that guy. He doesn't sit the fuck down.6 points

My guess is MJF vs. Daniel Garcia at All Out which will be in the same city as last night so the crowd will be jacked.5 points

We’re now about two months in with really good to great episodes of Dynamite every week. Like I said before, just keep doing what you’re doing, don’t flinch at ratings, and don’t change it up. And last night ruled. I like that Hangman isn’t purely an attack dog for the EVPs. I was getting Steve Austin vibes from him.5 points
-
Even if it doesn't, AEW needs to stay the course IMO. Last night felt like they had their energy back and the way to win people over is by being consistent.5 points
-
On the one hand Darby is a natural for team AEW if he's healthy on the other hand he will definitely die in that match. I really liked the camera work on the finish in the main event, shooting Garcia tight so you don't see Ospreay until he crashes into the frame.5 points

Right call is Blood and Guts ending with Caster turning on Bowens and joining the NWO.4 points

DYNAMITE. Only one day later! This is less elaboration than usual, so look at it as Dynamite Short Cuts.4 points

I think it is absolutely ok for MJF to do the job to Ospreay. He’ll be fine and can take the loss. And I’m totally fine with an even darker Hangman being the one to dethrone Swerve. Hangman and Swerve are perfect for each other. They can face each other as many times as they want.4 points

As far as the rest of the show; this is the type shit AEW needs to keep doing. I was ALL THE WAY in on Hanger/JJ. Idk if that's my match of the year, but it's certainly top 5. One thing I've learned about my own tastes in wrestling over the past few years is that I'm a sucker for pacing. I thought that match was structured perfectly. Jarrett's hope spots and comebacks were spaced out brilliantly. Whoever laid that match out needs a raise. I never REALLY thought JJ would win, but there was those handful of moments where I was like "well damn, maybe." Also, I really dug the bit of business with MJF at the end of the show. My favorite heels are the ones who's actions are understandable, if not justifiable. MJF, in his mind, has gotten screwed over by everyone he's tried to be friends with. Wardlow, Cole, et al. So he reaches out to this kid, Garcia, who he sees something in. He offers to be in his corner. He genuinely wants Garcia to beat Ospreay. Then Garcia refuses his advice. Doesn't use the ring. Immediately loses. To a guy who's been through as much friendship related trauma as MJF, that feels like rejection. And he just snaps. Or maybe he always planned on turning on Garcia. Either way, great shit. PAC and Danielson delivered, as always, though that could've been the final. Matchups like these are why I think the Own should be at least 16 competitors. You could've gotten another match from Pac before him and Danielson meeting in the Semis. Maybe I was too harsh in my assessment of Baker/Mone earlier. Tbh, I don't have much use for either. I'm genuinely happy for Britt Baker the human being. Sounds like she's been through a lot from an injury standpoint and I'm glad she gets to ply her chosen trade again. I just find her completely uninteresting as a television character, and I think she's vastly overrated as a performer. My feelings on Mone are well documented, so I'll spare you all a second portion today. All in all, a good show. The storytelling aspect of AEW has really stepped up lately.4 points

The only issue I have with Hangman right now is.....his mustache is absolutely less glorious.4 points

Very heel heavy show, but it was a good one. Britt/Mercedes segment was good stuff. Mercedes getting a little heat rub from the Bucks, then going out there and big-timing the AEW original to massive heat. The facial expressions from both women as the crowd chanted DMD (pure disgust from Mercedes, and a nearly tearful appreciative smile from Britt) literally made the whole feud. Jarrett, that sly old dog, just pulled out one of the better TV matches this year. I think Dustin has been trying to get that "one last shot" type of match for like 3 years straight to mediocre results, and Jeff put on a master class. Hangman was great here too, don't get me wrong. Both guys deserve credit for shaking off the "welcome back" pop for Hangman quickly and getting the crowd to pop big for a couple babyface Jarrett spots. The desperation Stroke on the apron, and ducking the first buckshot into the sharpshooter were both excellent spots. Goes to show you can get a great story out of a match with minimal build. The Learning Tree group finally got one over on Joe's School of Hard Knocks. It lacks the right irony level for the "Jericho vortex" meme, but match-wise, there's still some juice there. Main event was solid, and MJF heel turn was well done. Now that Ospreay is there to carry the top babyface mantle, MJF can go back to his natural habitat, though I think his face work was underrated. Garcia is finally breaking through with this angle, but I hope they run MJF/Ospreay with a completely over-the-top face/heel dynamic at Wembley.4 points

Willow/Stat was some good wrestling. I predict this isn't done and Stat costs Willow the finals. Really enjoyed the Britt/Mercedes showdown. They were both throwing some stingers and Mercedes flourishes as the cocky heel. Loved the visual of them setting up the celebration with Britt still in the ring, acting as if she didn't matter. This should fun.4 points

This was a great AEW Dynamite. Enjoyed everything from beginning to end.4 points

Ending every line in a verse with the same word and having the actual rhymes be the preceeding words has been common in rap music for over 30 years. This is beyond the "no one has ever heard of Bad Bunny" thing. The wrestling bubble is real and it weirds me out.4 points

I love Renee opening the broadcast with a rundown, but it'd be 10 fold better in the live arena. Can we get a set off to the side of the ramp or on the otherside of the building, please? And give Renee the match graphics to introduce as well. Death to distracting ADD graphics during the matches. The Garcia/MJF/Daddy Magic promo to begin was punchuated beautifully by Danny making such a lofty play on his mother's life. Total pro! Danielson v Pac was every bit as great as I imagined it could be. Loved Pac's elevated elbow drops. Danielson put a selling clinic on for all students of the game. Magic + Chess to close! Pac never wins the big one, but @DEAN taught us better than to care about such frivolous outcomes. The Willow promo that followed was completely on point. I loved her laying out why she smiles. So smart - further babyface connective tissue! No one better, but Mark is close. Speaking of which, the Briscoe promo and angle that followed was perfect for getting us all thinking about Blood n Guts. 'Who's gonna be in?' We all wanna know. I love shitheel Perry. I love Okada. I love Losing Streak O'Reilly. And then to the back for the Toni/Mariah promo - alotta talk, but no one's complaining when the pros give us the beatiful prose. I'll be sad to lose this pairing. Stat v Willow started strong with that awesome ramp rush and pounce, and it never relented. Love Willow. Love Stat. Tastes great, and refreshing! The Britt Baker promo was touching, she was understandbly nervous, but it was good. If I'm truly honest I wasn't so into the cliched motivational speech to close, but before I could bellyache, there was wonderful heel Mercedes mixing it up with the Jacksons. Perfect! The Mone-Baker confrontation was tremendous! Britt had the fire she needed and Mercedes' gots her groove. I love how excited everybody is for this, but let's keep expectations realistic. Promo-wise we should be good, but Mone's gonna need to do some heavy lifting in ring - she is clearly capable. Happy to have the Doctor back, but can we get the Rebel? The Callis/Ospreay/Fletcher promo was fantastic. Even if it defied the logic of the story told Sunday. It's Wrestling, a Dash of a Pass granted. I loved the Jericho promo. He still needs to reel this character in a smidge, but overjoyed with his continually use of 'That doesn't work for me, brother'. Great heel chicanery throwing Taz out. Love it! Joe/Hook/Shibata v the Jobbers of Agony was a good TV showcase. Give the Gates some credibility now. The angle that followed was rockin'! Bryan Keith is slowly becoming a star before our eyes. Give him time. Bill too. I unashamedly popped for the Fireball later on. Jarrett v Hanger was totally on point. I need an encore viewing after writing this. I'm not sure what I think of Hanger's new theme, but I certainly missed the giddyness his previous always provided me. What a nicely worked match. Even notorious Hanger Hater @MattD got down with this bout! How far can we run with babyface Colonel Sanders-Jarrett? He's gotta at least have one more Stampede in Calgary, yeah? Garcia v Ospreay closes this near perfect broadcast. Ospreay's acorbatics had me daydreaming him getting the call from Hollywood to take the torch from Jack Chan. I loved all the shenanigans to close. Matt Menard is a beautiful bleeder. MJF channelled some serious prime Franchise vibes there. It was like he was transported to 1995 shaking Gary Wolfe's halo clean off his shoulders. Easily his best use of the Avalanche Piledriver! Mia Wallace says 'Goddamn, Goddamn'. I can see the endless scroll from the King on this one. And closes with #AEWrulesTHEmotherFUCKINGuniverse.3 points

I'm house-sitting for somebody and they have cable so I was actually able to watch Dynamite and I picked a great episode to watch. Bryan/Pac was a great start and it didn't slow down after that. I didn't even mind Chris Jericho that much3 points

Also, Swerve Strickland is likely to be on Team AEW (which would then give Hangman the impetus to be the Elite's fifth man despite not being buddy-buddy with them). Would The Acclaimed be willing to work with Sneaky Swerve?3 points

We've also got Thunder/Deonna and what's looking like Riho/Serena. They have certainly come a long way.3 points

Obviously it's a match with less star power, but right now I would almost rather see MJF vs. Garcia than Ospreay. They could keep Garcia off tv for a month to sell the injury and still have enough time for more build when he returns. Although that would leave MJF with nothing really to do in the meantime.3 points

The key is making feuds that stand alone for personal reasons, not involving a belt. This has been slowly germinating for a little while now and will only improve once we get back a bunch of injuries.3 points

I did a double take when I saw that. I know it's an AEW shirt for Powerhouse Hobbs, but it kept cracking me up the whole night. This was a pretty good episode of Dynamite. Glad Bryan won his match. It's a no brainer to put him in the finals of the tournament. Willow vs. Statlander was a good match. Willow cut a great promo before her match and she was able to live up to it which was nice. I agree that this isn't probably over between them and Kris will cost Willow the cup in the finals. Mark Briscoe is a natural for Team AEW. I can see him leading the charge and waving the AEW flag in all of this. Jack Perry continues to be a piece of crap. I really hope they can get him over to the next level with all this. Also I want to see him bleed in the cage. I guess The Acclaimed are part of the team along with O'Reily. That's four if they go that route, so the fifth man is a mystery for both teams. Jeff Jarrett was my sentimental favorite for this and I honestly think AEW blew it here. I'm not saying he should have won the thing, but making a miracle run as an old guy and Owen's friend would have made for some good television especially with the show in Memphis this weekend. But we got Hangman back and he is pissed. Post match it doesnt look like he'll be the fifth guy for The Elite. Main event was really good. Osprey continues to be on another level even for regular tv matches. Garcia was good as well in this and I honestly thought Callis would cost Will the title after Osprey left the family earlier in the night. But it was MJF who costs the match for Garcia and then we get the turn back which was great. That was a great beating he gave Daniel Garcia. Poor Daddy Magic got busted open for his troubles. Overall a pretty good episode.3 points

it would fit with the booking philosophy I've heard Cornette cite often (which he attributes to Jerry Jarrett, and it's probably even older than that), which is You Tell The Truth at A, B, and C, so that when you work 'em at D and E, they believe it.3 points

Good stuff. Loved the Britt/Mercedes segment. Was slightly surprised Mercedes went so full on heel after going so much the opposite way after the Willow match. Great main event. I came to prefer babyface MJF but that was an effective angle to turn back with. Less than a year since the Wembley main and MJF & Cole are both heels again. MJF/Ospreay this year should be excellent.3 points

It's all about attention to detail for me. They started setting up the ring with celebratory bullshit while Dr. Britt was STILL in the ring.. some real disrespectful shit there. Both her and Mercedes go their lines in. Dr. Britt had some great lines about Mercedes being broken down at 'ALL IN' and Mercedes' facial expressions and palming Britt's face... really good heel shit. MJF.. awesome beat down. But again what made it great was the attention to detail. He yelled some shit about "Restoring the feeling" which you know is him going at Ospreay but then Ospreay comes limping out mind you and MJF powders into the crowd where he went full Piper or Dudley Boyz with the fans riling them up even more. I loved all of this.3 points

Yeah, Daddy Magic's gonna be a smear on the canvas by the end of Saturday night, next Wednesday at latest. Maybe try and fluff him up and have a nice match with purpose on the undercard of Blood and Guts where he gets wrecked. Super hyped for MJF/Ospreay, the build more than the match. It's their current super duper #1 babyface against the best heel the company's ever had.2 points

Things I Remember from this week's edition of AEW Dynamite: Danielson vs PAC looked good whenever I glanced at the TV Britt talks, Mone is finally a heel, the Bucks got into the segment because sure Chris Jericho found someone with the power to get rid of Taz. Now if only there was a way to get rid of Jericho. The power structure in AEW continues to be confusing. While not a surprise that Hangman beat Jeff Jarrett, a bit of a missed opportunity to not have an upset in a match instead of the usual "all the people you suspect are winning end up winning". Anyways, more Bucks with Page but Page doesn't want to be with them. Page's backdrop driver finish continues to be the most lethal move that my action figure did in 1998. Also it's a missed opportunity since the winner of Jarrett/Page was going to wrestle in MEMPHIS. Speaking of predictable outcomes, Ospreay/Garcia.. but now MJF's a heel again. Which is good. Funny how the planted fan sits in the same spot at ringside every week (re: prematch Ospreay vs Garcia) 14 minute overrun, eat shit Modern Family rerun!2 points

2 Ultimate Warriors/the original Warrior died can probably be laid at the feet of: 1) Kerry Von Erich looked a lot like Warrior without face paint and joined the WWF shortly before Warrior’s first disappearance, and left around the same time as Warrior’s 2nd departure 2) Kerry Von Erich actually did die in that same general time frame 3) still mostly no internet to spread “accurate” info 4) little kids are stupid 5) wrestling fans are stupid2 points

Wow, just saw the Lucha Bros/Mistico v Titan/Takahashi/Yota Tsuji bout from the Pre show. These guys all looked incredible. Here's hoping Takahashi jumps ship and goes All Elite. Something I’ve been meaning to talk about is the brilliance of Caster’s rap. I’ve seen people say it was bad and he must have messed up because he just kept ending every line with “bitch”. I thought it was totally obvious that the point of the rap was to call out Okada’s use/reliance of that as his catchphrase. Like “see, I can do it too, and more creatively”2 points
