  1. Again, Regal’s kid is in the WWE system. His entire life’s mission at this point seems to be ensuring young wrestlers have a safe, fair path and things are better for them than they were for him even if he sees his life as a charmed one. Hunter is one of his closest friends and they understand each other without even the need to speak and he’d be right beside him all the way to hell if he needed him. Regal leaving AEW is a shame for AEW but the reason he’s leaving likely has absolutely nothing to do with AEW and everything to do with Regal and his loyalties and his ties. When it became obvious Hunter was being pulled from exile to take over, this was apparently inevitable and he’s putting over their new lead heel on the way out by letting himself look like a moron and doing a stretcher job playing on his well publicized real life issues after MJF cut a promo trying to get heat with Triple H’s name right in front of him.

  2. You have to make your concern trolls more camouflaged so they aren't apparently concern trolls. The question doesn't even segue properly from my post that you responded to, and your follow up to Elsalvaje's answer is a too-desperate attempt to deliberately misunderstand the basics of copyright that even us message board lawyers would know 2/10, don't try again with game this weak.

  3. None of that has anything to do with the trademark. Tony Khan owns the trademark All Elite Wrestling until he doesn't want to own it anymore. Promoters have done that in the past though. 1996/1997 was much, much uglier than anything that's happened in the recent past to the point where it felt like there was a lawsuit damn near every month. And here's the thing: when you ask for someone to be the adult in the room, unfortunately as a promoter, that is part of your responsibilities. You cannot have contract tampering. Hell, I am safely assuming that was something that was passed up the chain to Tony from their legal department and not TK freestyling. I say that as historically, there have been things in the past where McDevitt had to step in and tell Vince, "yeah, no, that cannot be happening.". We saw some of the same things in WCW. That has nothing to do with creative. As for Regal, his presence ultimately is to be an on camera talent, not some intercessor between TK and the rest of the roster. Moreover, everything at the end of the day runs through the promoter. If the adult in the room isn't Tony Khan, then there won't be an adult in the room period. Same with Vince when he had all his consiglieres like Bruce, JR, Cornette, Patterson, and a few others. Besides KotR 1994 where he physically couldn't be there and a few TV tapings, everything creatively up until he got ousted, he had a hand in. Did he come up with every single idea? No, but if he didn't get his approval, it wasn't airing 9 out of 10 times. And there were long stretches where WWF/WWE had some downright horrendous TV. The key though is at least for awhile Vince knew it was terrible and decided he had to make some changes. It wouldn't matter what his trusted comrades did if Vince himself didn't step in and do something. In addition to that, it didn't happen overnight. Sometimes it took several months for Vince to get out of a creative funk. Shit, there were times in WWF where it seemed like he was out of one and then jumped right back into another one. As a wrestling fan, you probably need to get use to that. If promoters and bookers could turn everything around in the matter of weeks and with a touch of a button, the territories would still be around.

  5. Why would he grind his feet on Ric Flair's couch like it's the thing to do? He's got a little more sense than that. But yeah, he ground his feet on Ric Flair's couch.

  6. Yeah, the leap in logic from “non wrestler wants to go work with his best friend who stuck by him through multiple bouts of drug addiction AND his son, who is a very promising prospect” to “Tony Khan is a moron and everyone wants to leave” is baffling. Truly breathtaking. AEW doesn’t really have a developmental program. Whether or not they need one is another discussion, but why make a guy do a job he doesn’t want to when the job he wants to do isn’t one your company offers? As far as Mox goes, it wouldn’t shock me if he’s one of the guys who told TK just to let Regal out of his deal. What actual harm can letting a 50+ year old non wrestler go do AEW?

  7. The trolls are trying too hard if they are selling the potential loss of Regal as a big deal. He's strictly a seldom-used on-screen character, it would be a bigger deal if he had a backstage role. If TK knew that Regal's contract was ending soon, or had an out, they've known since before this entire current storyline started. As far as we knew, they cooked this up in October to give Regal's character a two-month "out" storyline to put a bow on his run in AEW. To put over MJF on his way out. Either way he's not a key player, the BCC was a fun but really loose faction that rarely involved Regal, and if he never shows up in AEW again its not going to ruin anything or even matter to what they are doing.

  8. How are you this bad at how trademarks work? "The Elite" is a trademark for specific people. Kenny & the Bucks own that. They can be called "The Elite" anywhere they want. That ad "Being The Elite are owned by them. Just because the word 'elite' appears in both trademarks, doesn't mean they can kibosh anything using that word. The specific trademark "All Elite Wrestling" is a completely different trademark than "The Elite". It relates to the name of a business, not people. The "World' Best Wrestling" idea was actually one of The Buck's ideas before "All Elite Wrestling" came up. They (Tony & The Elite) looked into it and someone already owned that trademark. That doesn't factor into this at all. Tony & Shad Khan's LLC own "All Elite Wrestling". Full stop. Legally The Elite have no claim to that name or any possible way to force The Khans to change their trademark. I kinda hope people are right and you're just trolling lol, because this is a pretty common sense thing.

  9. For real the guy just wants to be around his kid. Considering his past bouts with addiction he might not live till he’s 90 to watch his son wrestle. If TK gave him the out then good on him.

  11. Didn't Regal say he didn't want any sort of talent relations job in AEW as he got tired of that in WWE/NXT (or am I maybe thinking of JR)? You can say he may have not been utilized to his fullest potential, but if he's not interested in doing such a position then it's not like he could have carried it out. Regardless of the situation it seems like the speculation and distorted newz via a game of locker room telephone has increased exponentially since AEW became a thing. At the end of the day wrestling promotions are companies and leaving a job because of issues with management and then returning because the manager you're friends with and has always done right by you takes over is nothing new or novel in the work world.

  13. And, if I remember correctly, that was the end of WWE. So, once again, we are forced to admit that the doomsayers are making a great point. Also, let's remember the story of the boy who cried "Wolf!" As I recall, the boy kept yelling that there was a wolf among the sheep or goats and disaster was immanent and everyone came running and he got to be the centre of attention for a while and everyone was happy and said, "Gee whiz, boy who keeps crying wolf even though there is no wolf, you sure are smart and cool." And everybody liked him and we all learned something . So there's that as well.

  15. He's criticizing your absurd what if's, not the product. For your second note Smellington, Swerve Strickland's got a deliberate style in the sense he's always going for something slick if that makes any sense, pairs well with Keith Lee who's your colossus of a man. While not specifically a fat man tag team, on the ROH side we've got The Gates of Agony as a part of the Embassy who are big hard hitters.

  17. Jericho just signed a 5 year deal with AEW so I don’t think he’s looking to bolt as soon as he can. I’m so confused as to why Regal possibly leaving is suppose to be this big doom sign for AEW. Someone who’s contract may be up is leaving to go to another company it happens all the time.

  19. And this is obviously missing the context that AEW put their World Title on him when Chris was by far their biggest non-organic star when they first started doing TV. Why would they (WWE) put a guy who isn't even in the running for the main World title in AEW when they won't even put guys way younger than him by 10-15 years over Roman Reigns? Unless Paul starts huffing paint, Chris Jericho ain't winning no world title. As for like a HOF spot, what the fuck does that mean? Jericho isn't that much of a mark for himself. They put like a bajillion people in every year and they're running out people alive and dead to put in. That's always going to be something he can get. He can work for AEW and get put in the WWE HOF. That means jackshit.

  21. Roma's WCW work, particularly his high flying made his squash matches must see. His run up the ropes elbow was a thing of beauty and the rest of his game was damn good. While he made for a terrible Horseman, he and Orndorff were a [phenomenal tag team and both got to show some personality in their work.

  31. Rampage moves at a faster than balanced clip. Pace isn't this production team's strong suit - tho this week's show was mostly fine. Perhaps a second look at that talk segment would've clarified the above. Still, it wouldn't hurt for AEW to evaluate the importance of what they put out there 'Live' and the necessary double downs to sink said things into the viewer. Obviously, the excessive reminders on the Titan Sports brand shows is a little more than necessary. I'd say in the case of an unknown (to most) wrestler like Shane Taylor showing up and that a little background may have helped. The public at large doesn't have a Dean to supply the goods on Taylor, and seeing as the company has a whole ROH library featuring Taylor's entire run, maybe it could've been worth sharing a highlight or two? And who is this JD Griffey (@DEAN)? To your comment on the need for storylines, I agree, I don't need 'em. I'm of the feeling that the 'character study' or informing on the character is far more important than any sort of longer or even shorter narrative. I think we differ on what promotional video packages offer. Tho, I'm on your side when the crowd gets more cantakerous than necessary.

  41. Yes, they are going to give a man rapidly approaching mid 50s creative control and the World Title. He is 2002 Hulk Hogan, who was 49 compared to Jericho who is already 52. If WWE gives Chris Jericho a world title, they are the goddamn Titanic.

  42. Honestly, I always thought the crossovers knocked it out of the park each time, with Earth X probably being the best one. They do take a level of investment in the full lineup of shows though. If I can level a criticism at the crossovers, it's that the producers didn't really care if they appealed to a casual viewer, and only really seemed aimed at the regular viewers.

  44. We just recently reviewed Crisis on our pod, and despite it's faults? It's pretty great. It was a huge undertaking for these low budget shows and there were so many great moments and guest stars. Conroy, Welling, and especially Shipp were a blast. They actually got Huntress from Bitds Of Prey in there for Christs sake. And I love that the last part is the Legends episode, so it takes a turn for the absurd in tone. Where the other heroes point it out. I always felt that Legends was the JLI of the Berlantiverse. It's in continuity with the other shows but it's also a comedy.

  45. Tiki Chamorro is just the best. Enjoyed the match between her and Glitch. Once again, the main event was my favorite of this episode. I was surprised to see Aussie and Leia take the win but, based on the cliffhanger, things look far from over for these four. Good. I can definitely get behind a proper feud between all involved. Speaking of, we definitely need more of the Bully Busters vs Gigi and Adriana.
