I got home just in time for the main event because this undertaker works more than once a year. I figured they were going for the exploding ring spot the first time Braun went to the top rope. John Cone deserves a raise for that bump.

That's precisely what went wrong with Roman. Fans were hungry for an early and dominant Reigns with an early title run and everything. Then they held off, holding off left more time for an injury, it gave Vince more time to fuck with the Roman Reigns character, and then it lead to pushing Reigns over options the fans desired even more creating an even bigger backlash. WWE consistently fails to strike while the iron is hot. This is that rare window of opportunity to roll the dice and get behind a super hot act instead of doing the thing they usually do, which is cooling down that act to see if they can survive that cooling down period, and then they either continue their descent or they win the title at the most random time (think Chris Jericho).

Look, I don't know about you, but I do NOT want the universe to collapse in on itself, thank you very much.

So after collpasing the ring on RAW, how can Roman and Braun hope to escalate the violence? Pull a Bam Bam vs Taz and put each other through the ring?

They finally have something of value that puts them in a negotiable position with WWE and they can't afford to actually negotiate because they need quick cash. Who could have predicted that besides everyone?

So, as Phil said in the Raw thread, the Owls are negotiating with the WWE for the rights to the Broken characters. Funny enough, Impact is sudden need of about $340,000. A court has ruled they breached a contract with Audience of One Productions. (*some joke about that being TNA's actual audience size*) Big problem is, they must pay this immediately, so... expect to see Broken Matt & Brother Nero again, sooner rather than later.

They kept teasing the ring destruction, and I was like it'll still be cool, but been there, done that. It happened and it was, indeed, cool. Then Braun got up and I marked like a little kid. Alexa vs Bayley? Yes please.

John Cone for March Madness

Anybody ever read the Vonnegut short story "Harrison Bergeron?" It's about a future where everyone is finally equal because nobody is allowed to be exceptional (ballerinas wear masks and weights so they're not pretty or graceful, etc). That's how WWE booking feels to me. The longer people are around, the more almost everybody gravitates to a clogged-up midcard where nobody gives two shits about you. All WWE Superstars (tm) are equal in their mediocrity. Look at Sami Zayn, who was incredible on the indies. Great worker, charisma for days. Now he's a lower midcard joke. Bayley was the most over act in NXT, a can't miss, mass appeal face. Now she's on the main roster getting booed. People thought she'd be the female John Cena for fuck's sake. Guys like the aforementioned Dean Ambrose who were over like crazy a short time ago now play to crickets. The longer you're on TV, to more their bland booking machine pushes you to mediocrity. What's the cause? Plain old overexposure makes fans like you less and less until they're just apathetic? Really shitty writers who absolutely lack the ability to get someone over? They're doing it on purpose because getting someone over like Hogan or Austin was means that person is bigger than the brand and we can't have that? Vince has the attention span of a gnat and tires of new people very quickly, so strong pushes just die as he moves his attention to something new? And then the only guy they do push can't get over to save his life. Among other reasons, probably because we've been trained not to invest in anybody since they'll be trading meaningless wins with the rest of the roster before long. I can't wait for Nakamura to join the .500 club. I give it six months and that's being generous.

There were worse things in Taz/Bam Bam than going through the ring. If Roman decides to suplex Braun off the ramp and end up blasting the back of his own head against something like in that match then he might be out for awhile, which plenty of people wouldn't mind. God, what a stupid idea:
