NXT TV - 4/20/16

It appears that these are the matches tonight

Spoiler

4/13 show

- Jason Jordan & Chad Gable beat Enzo Amore & Big Cass.

- Nia Jax b Deonna Purrazzo

- No Way Jose debuts on this show over Alexander Wolfe

- Samoa Joe beat Apollo Crews via choke.

Which is basically everything that was taped at the same time minus the Aries/Dawkins match.

NXT's Twitter has promoted AA vs. Enzo/Cass and Joe vs. Crews

Crews's bump off the uranage was my favorite thing about tonight's show.

The NXT crowd has its issues, but I appreciate them helping No Way Jose out tonight by reacting to him and getting some chants going. Plus, dude uses a heart punch, which is awesome.

Looking at him in interviews, I sorta wish they'd packaged Aries as Rick Rude's secret bastard son and had him come out to Rude's Slam Jam theme and start doing neckbreakers and gryating and selling his damaged back while gyrating.

I enjoyed the tag immensely, but I thought about Big Cass (and about Nia Jax) that they wrestle smaller than they are on a routine basis.

This show ended like ten minutes early, sadly. Three hours of RAW but only forty-five minutes of this. COME ON.

That was the best Crews match yet. Joe really made him work for his comebacks, and Crews showed good fire fighting from underneath. Joe is the heel the main roster needs, but I'm glad he's in NXT with a potential Nakamura match on the horizon. Jose has charisma and some talent not a bad debut for him.

Loved No Way Jose, obvi.  My big takeaway though is that I hate my life for starting to like The Drifter.

Once they overtly made The Drifter's gimmick "audience troll," he became much better.

I think they're spinning their wheels with Joe until Cena recovers so that can be his first main roster program. But who knows.

My guess is they're trying to build up some more guys as viable main eventers.  Itami is still injured, Crews and Corbin are pretty much main roster guys so that leaves Nakamura and Aries as the only guys I can think of offhand that would be suitable for world title contenders at this point.
