Dolfan in NYC Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Another head hangs lowly. Child is slowly taken, and the violence caused such silence. Who are we, mistaken? Well the Revolution has been suppressed and we need to move on. But first, the end of the long, bloody affair where Women's Champ Toni Storm finally put an end (we hope!) to her feud with Mariah May. What's next for both of them? Well, stitches to be sure... But you see, it's not me, it's not my family. In your head, in your head, they are fightin'! With their tanks and their bombs and their bombs and their guns... In your head, in your head, they are cryin'... Of course, the less said about the Men's championship the better! But you know how the old saying goes... "Moxley Wins LOL". Will Swerve Strickland fare any better? Will Moxley actually pretend he's threatened? Will Prince Nana DANCE... on the ECW Arena? Let's see... In your head, in your head... Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie. What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie-ie, oh... Tonight... We'll hear from the winners! And the losers! Someone may actually wrestle too! (7 years gone. RIP Dolores.) Happy St Patty's Day week! 1 2 2
Matt D Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Hechicero vs Orange Cassidy sounds like a great deal of fun. Wildcard is probably Bailey and I'm said to see Mortos fall to him but that should also be big dumb fun. I very much look forward to Ricochet's reactions to Shibata no selling something he does too. And yeah, sure, Briscoe vs Davis sounds like a fun time too. So all of this is good. It seems like it'll be a four way after that, which is a shame as a lot of the potential second/third round matches would have been fun. 4
stuntmanc Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Considering I'll be at AEW Dynasty, I selfishly really want Hechicero/Omega at the end of this. 3
Craig H Posted March 12 Posted March 12 God. I can't believe it has been seven years since she passed. Also, I'm really looking forward to how well Charlie Day does as a wrestler, but Mortos should be able to carry him to a good match. 1

Technico Support Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I love the last minute, "here are all the guys who are still healthy after the PPV" tournament. OC vs Hechicero is going to be awesome. 1

Craig H Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I know Shibata is probably going to lose, but he is the best person against Ricochet in the sense that if you want to see someone bitch slap the shit out of Ricochet then Shibata is your man. 4

You saying that reminded me of Kazuchika Okada running the ropes only to bitch slap Ricochet across his bald dome at Worlds End 2024. Still hilarious. 3
Curt McGirt Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Shame how easy it is to pick the winners of the first round. And I forgot about Speedball. *sigh* Tony's love of tournaments is quickly exposing a love of #1 Contenderships. 1

Curt McGirt Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) Yeah I mean it could be the champion defending against EACH of those guys or it could just be a way to make WAR matchups EDIT: Let me try and explain that; I meant that either they could have the champ fight all of those guys up and down the card individually, like one might do, OR you could have a tournament for a #1 contender. HarryArchieGus Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Hechicero-OC!!! I think it's safe to assume that Ford v Willow leads to Willow v Bayne. I back that play. Mike Bailey v Beast Mortos was a good reason to seek out Impact a couple years back. I'm curious to see if Speedball can rise above his many critics. I have a tougher time seeing it as a babyface. Light card so far.
SovietShooter Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Just throwing it out there... while I agree this is probably Speedball, there is the possibility it could be Josh Alexander. Regardless, if Mortos loses we riot. 2
Zimbra Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Caster would make a really great face when he got tossed up for the high-speed Samoan drop, I'm sold. 2
Kevin Wilson Posted March 12 Posted March 12 tournaments are great, y'all dumb. more tournaments plz. 9 1
Cobra Commander Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Things I Remember From This Week's Edition of AEW Dynamite: Lots of foreshadowing of future attractions post-PPV Mask vs mask action and a cool finish with Hobbs winning with a move off the ropes Moxley vs Cope next week for some reason! Speedball looks like he's wearing a Halloween mask (because of the teeth/mouthpiece) but he had some cool looking "karate dojo in a strip mall" offense Christian wants to retcon the PPV and we're getting the turn meant for Killdozer only with Nick Wayne, guessing that Killdozer returns to side with Wayne and they pretend that Wayne was Jungle Boy as they reunite the Jurassic Expresss MJF and MVP have a talk Max Castor eats shit for a minute or so Penelope had a very gentle chairshot to Willow Mone and Billie Starkz have a talk Renee is in so many segments this week Will Ospreay wants to be the world champ Jay White assures us he's not turning heel next week MJF and Hangman have a talk Main event started way later than their norm (who do we blame for going long). Fun main event. Speedball looking like a Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Band martial arts master as the show goes off the air 4
For Great Justice Posted March 13 Posted March 13 The Dynamite after Revolution is always a transition show heavier on narrative than in ring action and this was no different. Some doors closed while some new ones (Toni/Bayne, MVP/MJF, Ospreay gunning for the title at All In) opened. I absolutely loved every main eventer staking their own claim to the title / number one contender-ship throughout the course of the night. That ruled. Marked out big for THE POUNCE (.) 3
SovietShooter Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Gonna do my best Gordi impression here... this show really pissed me off. The action was great, that wasn't the problem. But why are the Mexicans always eating the pins? Hobbs pinned Dralistico, Bailey pinned Mortos, and OC pinned Hechicero. And it wasn't just tonight, it's starting to become a noticable pattern. Mexicans can only beat Mexicans. It's 1997 WCW all over again. 3 1
The Natural Posted March 13 Posted March 13 (edited) LOL at running Jon Moxley vs. Cope back as a Street Fight next week with how much their Revolution 2025 main event was shit on and rightly so. Edited March 13 by The Natural 2
Niners Fan in CT Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I imagine a street fight might be quicker and more to the point. Just let them use weapons and bleed buckets. I'm still not looking forward to it but Mox needs something to do now before the match with Swerve. Overall I thought the show was ok. Not great. MJF and MVP had an interesting segment, I don't think MJF is ever a good fit for a stable but it's an interesting wrinkle. I like that him, Hangman, Ospreay, seemingly everyone is gunning for the big gold. Billie and Mercedes had a nice segment to setup their eventual match. I didn't catch exactly when it's happening. I would think this will bring Athena into the mix. 1

Maybe we get a Billie/Mercedes feud in between? I'd be okay with that, the youngster can go. Speaking of All In - oh, poor Swerve. The way Ospreay was cutting that promo, specifically about Mox, leads me to believe he's retaining at Dynasty (and probably Double or Nothing, if they run a title match). 1
