The Natural Posted March 1 Posted March 1 New month, first AEW PPV of the Year in AEW Revolution 2025 next weekend. It'll be my first AEW PPV since AEW WrestleDream 2024. Enjoy!
Leonidas Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Julia Hart / Aminata 2 added to Collision. Hopefully the Queen will pick up the victory or get a storyline, or both. 1

NikoBaltimore Posted March 3 Posted March 3 I'm trying to get a solid read on Gabe Kidd as I only saw his match against Omega and the promo leading up to it. Seeing this plus his Hey EW stuff I can't help but wonder if this is all gimmick or is he really just a fucking asshole. 3

He’s pretty well rounded and not at all what I would call a carry job. I’m not sure I’d say for example Butcher Carried him on last weeks collision. Omega definitely elevated him, but he was very much there and contributing throughout. His mouth is his money tho. I expect Kidd’s rise in the US will be fast. And I don’t see any limit to his success and star power.

Technico Support Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) I watched Hey EW and I can tell you I thought it was too long for Kidd's entertaining, but still one note, act. RJ City was Flair to Kidd's Jack Veneno. I find my opinion of Kidd vacillating between "this guy is kind of charming and funny" and "this guy is Ali G without the nuance and cleverness." The Natural Posted March 3 Author Posted March 3 Sting had his final match a year ago today defending the AEW World Tag Team Championship with Darby Allin vs. The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution 2024. I gave it *****. I'm no fan of the Young Bucks but fair play to them here. Seeing Sting go out on his own terms moved me. Sting's AEW run and Bryan Danielson's are my two favourite things to ever come from AEW. 5

Seeing that live is probably my greatest wrestling experience of all time, enhanced by a million percent beause it was my daughters 1st wrestling show, we road tripped from PA to NC for it and we went with my friend and his fiance and it turned them both into AEW fans. Just an all around special experience before we even got to the show then we saw that live. 3
SovietShooter Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Frightful is reporting that the Continental & International Championships may be merged at All In. I say throw the ROH championship in there too and have all "All- United" championship. 3 1
AxB Posted March 3 Posted March 3 They're also reporting that Rey Fenix has been granted his release from AEW. 3

I'm leaning towards "This dude is obnoxious and I wouldn't want to be around him in real life but I do enjoy seeing him wrestle." I could do without the cheap swearing all the time. It makes him seem childish rather than tough but there's no arguing with him if his opponent is game for a fight. 3
TheVileOne Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Tony Khan should have the attitude of letting more people leave if they want to leave. The likelihood of once prominent guys going to WWE and becoming main event-level stars is low, especially if you are a masked luchador wrestler. Andrade has already found his new ceiling. The LWO are all glorified enhancement talents at this point. Santos Escobar is a low-level midcarder. Dragon Lee has done nothing since moving to the main roster, and that's the post-Vince McMahon regime. The bar for every masked wrestler or lucha libre type wrestler in WWE is Rey Mysterio, and every talent who fails to meet that threshold is deemed a disappointment. I say let people leave and find out if the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. The chances of them becoming a Cody Rhodes main event star are low. Either way, you can at least part with your talents on good terms. If it doesn't work out for them in WWE they might even want to eventually come back. 1

The office can't let the talent take advantage, where they can just walk right into another company. The talent also can't let the office take advantage, either. At the end of the day, everyone needs to realize it is a partnership, and that both sides need to honor their commitments. 6

Godfrey Posted March 4 Posted March 4 The one-two of Cody and Punk leaving and doing big business for WWE shook TK a bit but he doesn't have anyone like that left so I agree, let people leave. The only guys I'd play hardball with at this point are Ospreay and Takeshita and I hope Khan isn't dumb enough to piss either guy off so bad they want to go 2 1

Swerve would be a big deal in WWE as presented in AEW. But there aren't many, and those two are as committed to AEW's long term viability as TK is. 2 1
The Green Meanie Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Re: Gabe Kidd Didn't I hear that he's a rape apologist? (Edit: looked him up, not directly, but he's done plenty of other things as well.)

There are certain spots I don't think he needs to do or should be doing. He's best when he's presented as contrast. 1

I can't get Sundays off so I've already accepted the fact that I will be exhausted the day after All In but I need to watch that live. I have no doubt both men will go all out. 1
