AxB Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Or Crewe, as in the town in Cheshire, or it's football team. Or the American Wrestler Lord Crewe. 1
The Natural Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 I can't see Mercedes Mone losing the TBS Championship until she beats Jade Cargill's record of 508 days. 1

On the other hand, I have a hunch they'll want to run Mercedes vs Toni at All In. They might want to make that match champion vs champion (or even title vs title), but they might also want to get the TBS title off of Mercedes before she starts challenging for the world title. 1

I think it's either Timeless Toni Storm vs. Mercedes Mone for your reason as the biggest women's match available or Mercedes Mone vs. Athena.

And Statlander's unfortunate injury at the time is responsible for like 120 or so days of that, at least. 388 is long, but still way more palatable. 1
The Natural Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 I'm still hoping even though it's not happening Kris Statlander's the one to end Mercedes Mone's TBS Championship reign at the third attempt as she's 0-2 against her.
Technico Support Posted March 21 Posted March 21 (edited) Athena should end Mercedes' reign. She's been ROH champion forever and this would be the perfect way to bring her up. Jobbing your two plus year ROH champion would be ridiculous. Edited March 21 by Technico Support 1
Overly Critical Man Posted March 21 Posted March 21 (edited) I may be mixing up my proverbs here… but if a tree holds the ROH women’s title for two plus years in the Forest and no one is there to see it, does it make a sound? Meaning… I’m not so sure Athena’s reign is the big deal some people actually make it out to be. She might just wind up as another victim of the week, which would suck, but yeah. God this reminds me of when The Santa Clause came out and people started misspelling it. Over a stupid Tim Allen movie. 1
Niners Fan in CT Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I don't care when Mercedes loses it, it has to be something that makes sense in the time. Harley Cameron didn't make sense. Athena would make some sense. 4
Leonidas Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Athena loses a TBS title match at Dynasty, then puts the RoH title on the line at Y'All In to entice the Belt Collector into a title vs title rematch. 3

The Natural Posted March 22 Author Posted March 22 Kazuchika Okada has held the AEW Continental Championship for a year. The only others to have a year long 365 days reign are: MJF. AEW World Championship. Hikaru Shida. AEW Women's World Championship. Jade Cargill. TBS Championship. 2

It's a fair question, but the reactions for her on PPVs etc. indicates that her TV return will be as big deal. She also has the goods to back it up. 1

HarryArchieGus Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Omega v Blake Christian for Wednesday. I suspect Blake may surprise a few ppl. And Davis v Hobbs! I sense after the 4 way a few ppl r starting to remember how good the big Hossy Aussie is. 1
just drew Posted March 24 Posted March 24 This week AEW breaks the record for "longest running prime time wrestling show on a Turner network." After all the shit Eric Bischoff has talked about AEW, I'd commission special pyro to spell out "suck my ass, Bischoff" in the sky. But Tony Khan seems classier than me. 3 1 3

I'm really hoping Blake Christian gets the Angels treatment. He'll make a lot better on it than Alan 5. I agree with ppl losing their shit over that, but I think there were ppl on the otherside of that debate that could have been a little more generous as well. There was certainly an argument to make why your top star shouldn't go 50/50 with a guy on the lowest rung of the ladder. (Clears throat) It was however during a worldwide pandemic and with a skeleton roster in Georgia. I remember Angels-Omega 2 being a much better match, and less divisive. 1

Curt McGirt Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) Apparently they gave Christian a match with Zack Sabre Jr. (!) in ROH in February so they must have some faith in him. He was also GCW world champ, for whatever that's worth. Edited March 24 by Curt McGirt
Matt D Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Christian does a ton of stooging now and it’s all entertaining but he doesn’t let any of it settle on. He just rushes to the next bit of shtick. He’s a stooge monkey.

The 16th is when they surpass Nitro and Bischoff loses his fucking mind on his podcast about it. Edited March 24 by Casey 1
