peterien Posted October 17 Posted October 17 (edited) This version of Mox is the best Mox. As hard as they try,Jack Perry is just not that guy. Edited October 17 by peterien 2

Should have been a one and done Yes, unfortunately. Chris Jericho needs to go away like he did in spells with WWE. You'd miss him then. I think his 2023-2024 spell in AEW is some of if not the worst things he's done. 2
barrybonanza Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Though obviously that's not how stories are told, it'd be great if the Elite just never came to AEW's aid against the BCC. I'll admit I'm keen for them to go in that direction for selfish reasons, The Elite are washed and I want them nowhere near the BCC storyline. Solid progression in the overall storyline, could do with BCC not fighting with lower card dorks but hopefully they'll run through them like they did Private Party. 2

The Natural Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Glad Shelton Benjamin won with the Exploder into the pinfall. Always preferred that to Paydirt. 1
barrybonanza Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Surely the faces are gonna vandalise that car of the BCC's, at some point, if I know my pro wrestling. Hopefully get a particularly violent car park brawl out of it, at least.
For Great Justice Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Ok hear me out: The Hurt Syndicate is formed proper in Nov/Dec and is built up over several months as a dominant heel faction, in parallel to the BCC. They are intentionally kept far, far away from Mox and co. Then, to close a big Dynamite in Q1 2025, the two factions face off to close a show, in Wyatts / Shield fashion. Anarchy in the Arena, Blood and Guts, etc. follow and then, at the end, at Double or Nothing babyface Swerve (who joins prior to this to cap off the Syndicate’s face turn) defeats Mox to win his title and eradicate the threat Swerve-Mox, Lashley-Claudio (!), Shelton-Pac has a nice duality to it all the way around. Just need a young lion on the HS side to take on Yuta, which is a good spot to elevate someone. 7

Cage, O'Reilly and Archer with Rush traded away, Mark Davis still not healthy a year after getting his hand destroyed, Trent more or less forgotten after the Orange feud, and Hobbs cleared but not booked? Callis getting two new heavies in the past week suggests to me that they’re going in a different direction with Hobbs when he comes back. (Probably Hurt Syndicate, as pretty much everybody has speculated since Day 1.) Speaking of which, Lio absolutely died a half dozen times over to make Shelton look better than he has in 10 years. It probably wouldn’t make much sense to have him join HS after that, but I hope they find something more meaningful than hanging with Top Flight for him. Also, Max Castor clearly pocketed MVP’s card, so that’s something to keep an eye on. Acclaimed might be coming to an end. Edited October 17 by EVA 4
WebConn89 Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Recorded the Modern Family after Dynamite and got to see the end of White-Cage. 10 minutes overrun, does that happen often cuz if so I’ll just start recording the Modern Family too every week. The Match I thought was really good and really fun. I’m kinda torn on the finish on one hand you have Jay White who just got a big win at the PPV and he can’t seem to keep the streak up with another win but at the same time the loss did come due to interference from the man who White beat at the PPV. The Jay White-Hangman Page feud is still going. 2

I agree that the Elite being used in the angle will water it down but they are going to need some higher quality people to fight against the BCC than Private Party, Top Flight, and the Dark Order. I mean Top Flight was dressed as flight attendants a month ago and Dark Order can barely win in Ring Of Honor. Never mind the fact that there are about 8 or 9 of them and generally got their ass handed to them by 4. Orange and Daniel Garcia is a good start but there needs to be more.
For Great Justice Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I imagine it’s just the start. You don’t fight Piston Honda before you fight Glass Joe. I like that both of these BCC and HS storylines are big, macro deals involving multiple segments and dozens of wrestlers per show. Hangman/Swerve and other recent stuff was amazing but it was isolated and personal. It’s good to tell some larger scale stories for a change. 3
just drew Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I lack the suspension of disbelief necessary to buy into Adam Cole giving MJF an assbeating. Beat him in a pro wrestling match? Perhaps. Beat his ass? Not a chance. This BCC stuff is extremely up my alley. Mox & friends wrecking fools? Yes please. 1
just drew Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Also, it’s hilarious to me that no matter what’s happening, PAC is always in his gear. 1 8

Dude does NOT like wearing regular clothes, apparently. And, yes, I too am getting great enjoyment out of the wrecking of fools. I’ve long maintained that what is missing from modern pro wrestling is the wreckage of foolish wrestlers. Nice to see it coming back. 4

So... where I am is that there's still room to course correct but the first half of the show wasn't it. The mood was off. I imagine that every version of Mox (real and kayfabe) is going to be pissed about this and we'll see how they handle it going into next week. 4
NikoBaltimore Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I generally don't mind Cole's promos but this was straight awful. If he focused it on how he trusted MJF until bad things happened behind closed doors then it might have worked out a bit better. But instead it was so mean-spirited that Cole just sounded like a dick. Dare I say it it made hated villain MJF sound a bit sympathetic which is not what the feud needs. I had to play it back just now to make sure I wasn't out of my mind but yeah this didn't work for me at all. But what did work was Shelton Benjamin at 49 years old being damn near ageless. The combination of him still kicking ass and Lio bent on killing himself for greater effect made for a really fun match. 3
NoFistsJustFlips Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Kip Sabian really made Hangman look like a fool. It was hard to catch but they had two Spear spots planned. Sabian was supposed to hop on the apron during the second one but was way early and jumped up on the first one. Hangman was sent out because his spot timing was based on Sabian's run in. So that's why he laid on the ground like an idiot for 10 minutes lol. 1 3
Log Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Being from a rural area originally, I have actually witnessed some dudes pull up all piled in the back of a pickup truck, jump out and have a fight, then jump back in and speed away. Wasn't all that uncommon. 5
HumanChessgame Posted October 17 Posted October 17 A Wyatt/Shield moment for me would be the BCC tuning up some midcarders for the lights to go out and House of Black to show up. Given that it looked like Brody started out on his own last week I don't see that happening though. 2

John Silver should have been a AEW TNT Champion and John Silver/Alex Reynolds or Evil Uno/Stu Grayson the AEW World Tag Team Championship. 1
stuntmanc Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Hangman/Silver/Reynolds should've been the initial Trios champs over the Elite. 4
