If we're gonna drag Lars, let's drag him for the racism and homophobia, not the past as a sex worker or whatever conflicted feelings he may have about his sexuality.9 points

Not the best, but Cena vs Federline is worth a shout. And Kaufman/Lawler.3 points

I recommend the "Russian" category. The things those people can do in a sketchy looking apartment... *chef's kiss* Oh wait, you were probably talking about Lars, and not speaking generally. Never mind.3 points

I never had any doubt that Miami would pull it off in Foxboro(ugh)! Holy shit... Chiefs with that bye. Beautiful, beautiful!2 points

The main event was an absolute corker: GAINA & HUB defending their tag titles against the indy dream team of Gamma & Super Shisa. It was also really cool to see Buffalo & Tsubasa back together working heel as Infinity in their black outfits. The best thing, though, was to share something I love with some new friends, (and also to have my new friends meet my old friends, and also just to see so many old friends again). There were a lot of new faces in the small crowd, but also a lot of people I hadn't seen for about five years and in every case the reunion was a very happy one. There was even one Osaka Pro fan who knew Chizuki from her English events, a very nice young woman named Mie: We all got packages of Wakame (a strong-tasting, in this case dried, seaweed that is quite nice with sake) and after the show (after Kenji and I helped break down the decorations while everyone else waited) we all went to a very nice Mexican restaurant in the Fukushima area of Osaka, a nice 18-minute walk from Noda Citizen's Hall (where the show was held). That was a pretty cool meal, with Japanese, English, Spanish, and French all being spoken at various times by various people (Gorge speaks French fluently. I cracked he and Esteve up with my basic Canadian high school French). The food was excellent, the conversation even better. I caught one of the last trains home.2 points

This sucks for the Steelers chances but to be honest they wouldn't have a chance to begin with if the Ravens didn't bench all their starters today2 points

I was there live. It was the tail end of an epic weekend in which I woke up Friday morning in Miami and didn't sleep until Sunday night after Wrestlemania in Orlando. It was also fitting that I partied "Horsemen Style" leading up to Ric's retirement. Trust me, I made him proud the prior 2 days and nights lol.2 points

Allie Kat looked pretty fucked up after her match too. Indie wrestling really kind of sucks now for the most part. Amazing with how hot it was just a couple of years ago. It's going to take a long time to build up some star caliber talent. edit: Long doesn't always equal good but for the best storytellers you need time. However, we could all use more Giant vs. Meng type kaiju battles that are sub five minutes. And when a top guy is in there with a JTTS, you don't need to go 10+.2 points

I shared the original trilogy with my dad, growing up. I was able to share this new trilogy with both my dad and my daughter, as of this afternoon. I liked it. No one wanted to tell me about how bad my daughter might would want a Babu Frik toy now, though? You assholes left me to hang.2 points

I don't think it's going to be a really illustrious list because the combo of PFL running the Hulu Theater (fka the Felt Forum and the Theater at Madison Square Garden) every year and Bellator now running MSG owned properties (at same point they will do a card at the Theater just like they currently do at the big room in MSG and the Forum in Inglewood) will have people slip through the cracks. Like the first NYE show at Hulu Theater PFL did before they were PFL and still WSOF had Yushin Okami and Luiz Buscape who are on the list. Liz Carmouche fought Katlyn Chookagian in a fight a lot people likely don't even remember in the first ever UFC fight at the Garden. If she fought at SSA due to the Bellator/Rizin partnership, I don't think people will be running out into the streets in jubilation. It's going to be the lesser names who will get cut from an org and move around a little bit more freely.1 point

Those Global Wars shows that came through Toronto every spring were great. I got to see Tanahashi wrestle live and in his prime in a minor league hockey arena, only Ring of Honor did that. It truly is a shame they've long since eaten up the good will from those times because they had a solid shot at being a #2 for a second there.1 point

Imagine being so desperate that hiring a coach that has never won a playoff game with the Bengals is actually an upgrade I do like that the majority (small majority) are in Rippa thinking that Bruce isn't really leaving just changing the job title1 point

Lots of talk in the Raw thread about Samoa Joe in WWE, and wishing he would have gone there sooner. Which I will disagree with. The way he joined WWE, as a player/ coach for NXT, getting over on his work and moving to the main roster because of it, that's the only way he gets to be Samoa Joe in WWE. Had he gone to WWE ten years earlier than he did, he's changing his name, painting his face, wearing a grass skirt and wrestling bare foot. Jobbing to Cena at Summerslam and joining his team by Survivor Series. And then getting released for not losing weight. "But think of all the great matches he would have had". He did have great matches, in TNA and sometimes Noah. And the great WWE matches he could have had, he still could. The thing holding him back from great matches in WWE isn't age and injuries (except for him being Injured right now, obviously), it's WWE house style and schedule. He might have lost half a step, but he has gained veteran timing with it. The man can still go.1 point

The list is ok I guess. Dunne had my least favorite matches with WALTER out of British Strong Style. I'd have taken Bate's or Seven's matches over it. I'm not shocked it was named though since Dunne is the one from that group they want to sell. Honestly the NXTs kind of got screwed. The lack of Bate/WALTER is a noticeable snub to NXT UK. The lack of Rhea/Shayna or the women's War games is a noticeable snub to NXT's women's division. Those three matches were better than both of the Takeover New York matches included. Kind of shocked they didn't try to sneak in any of the Lee/Dijakovic matches. Rollins/AJ is an odd case of a forgettable great match. Like its easily an arguable top ten, but man was there a lot more from this year I would rather go out of my way to see. Like I probably enjoyed both of Brock matches more despite the AJ match probably being better. I wish they had chosen the Balor match as far as Brock matches go. Banks' matches with Rousey and Becky placing is good. The lack of Asuka/Becky is disappointing. Out of the great women's matches WWE had this year I think the WM triple threat was easily the weakest. War Games, Rhea/Shayna, Becky/Asuka, Becky/Sasha, & Sasha/Rousey were all better. MITB placing is probably the most egregious choice on the list. It really doesn't belong at all. Even Gargano/Cole had the epic deal behind though i'm mostly mixed on it. I at least appreciate that the chose the best of their three big matches.1 point

Bray Wyatt just tweeted that he forgave Kevin Spacey and everyone's blowing up about it. I hope this leads to an awful Bray/The Fiend vs Kevin Spacey/Frank Underwood split personality match at Mania, where we're supposed to suspend disbelief that House of Cards was real and the President just turned up on RAW.1 point

CM Punk on Hulk Hogan: WWE Backstage personality and former Superstar CM Punk had no kind words for Hulk Hogan during a recent appearance on Windy City Live's 2 Minute Warning. 'The Voice Of The Voiceless' may not have loaned his takes to this week's FS1 sister show, but he had plenty to add to the Chicago-based short, much to the pleasure and surprise of host Ryan Chiaverini. 'The Hulkster came up during discussion of prior legends, with Punk noting that "I wasn't a Hogan guy. I've met him. I like him even less now". As the host jokingly suggested that Punk was "crushing his childhood dreams", the former WWE Champion retorted with the humorously curt "f*ck him! Fuck Hulk Hogan.1 point

yeah, at least with Powerr it's a throwback presentation but the guys aren't literally pretending to be from a different time. These shows are basically end of summer camp plays. It's utterly asinine. It's GLOW-level camp1 point

This may be a hot take but I REALLY REALLY hate the parody throwback shows that Impact just did and that PROGRESS does every year. There is literally nothing on-screen that exposes kayfabe like having a bunch of wrestlers play dress-up and perform a variety show as different characters. Like, how can that possibly be reconciled with the illusion that guys and gals are competing in a match filled with violence and with stakes?1 point

It's a shame with the A++ material that Marvel has, that they can't do something good that can sustain. SSM and A:EMH are both fairly fantastic. USM is bollocks and really AVASS really blows too so far.1 point
