Playa Shunna Ver 3.0
EDIT: Whoops.....Ithought we were taliking the nWo formation. That was 20 years ago today. My bad: I watched this by turning my TV to channel 4, instead of 3, and scanning through the cable channels until there was a semblance of a wrestling ring. For the younger folks on the board, this was the equivalent of an illegal stream in 1996. We also watched porn this way. Sometimes it was hard to tell an elbow from a booby, but the audio was fine, so I got to hear Hulk's promo in full. I just remember wanting to know what they were going to call Razor and Diesel, and they didn't call them anything.

IIRC, Bischoff had referred to them as Hall and Nash at one point before the PPV.

(BP)
I used to watched the scrambled matches to get the results in the late 90s, or watch the WWF post-PPV merch specials on QVC. For a while they would have results and even have wrestlers cut post-match promos.

FluffSnackwell
Count me amongst those who witnessed the formation of the NWO via scramble vision as well. I believe the last WCW pay-per-view I ever asked my folks to buy was SuperBrawl II. Super Brawl II and goofy ass Halloween Havoc '91 before it. That's compared to the first pay-per-view we ever ordered being Summerslam '91 with the awesome Hart/Perfect match, Bossman/Mountie and LOD beating the Nasty Boys for the tag team titles. WrestleMania XIV was the pay-per-view where I got my folks to start back ordering them. Stranger still about that other bunch that fancied themselves a wrasslin' promotion is that none of my friends ever bought a WCW pay-per-view at their house either. The only one anybody I knew bought was the NWO pay-per-view where Nash nearly killed the giant and that's because the guy that bought it still thought WCW was real and the WWF was fake. This asshole was also notorious for unplugging your N64 controller when he got pissed because he got swerved during those 40-man battle royals on WCW/NWO Revenge. No real reason though to order WCW pay-per-views as about the only thing they didn't botch was the formation of the NWO and that in itself was the actual event; not the match that preceded it. Goldberg never had a match half as big as him beating Hogan for the title and the one he did had the usual stupid Starrcade ending. Back to fuzzy flickering images, I'm quite sure scramble vision also played a major part for many in the misbelief that this Renegade Hogan had frozen in carbonite was actually the Ultimate Warrior. Or they may have did the bit where he was standing behind that stupid screen on TV before the pay-per-view but following that it was easy enough to convince yourself Warrior had joined WCW through the magic of scramble vision.

I'll flat-out admit I listened to the Royal Rumble 92 match on scramblevision, and even then, I thought it was the greatest match ever. Actually seeing it later not only confirmed it but it still lived up to all expectations.

My best friend and I got together to watch it, and boy, it was fucking fantastic. I loved the New Foundation.
