Dewar Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Subway pulls out of their last race as a sponsor with Daniel Suarez because of a NBC pre-race segment where he went and handed out Dunkin Donuts to fans at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and the Smithfield Foods/Richard Petty Motorsports divorce got ugly in a hurry. Petty claims they backed out of a handshake deal, Smithfield fires back that they need a better return on their investment, instead of an underperforming team.
Pete Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Bubba Wallace will drive the 43 car full-time for Petty next year. First African-American driver with a full NASCAR ride since Wendell Scott in 1971.
Dewar Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 Defending series champion Martin Truex Jr. is without a ride for 2019. Furniture Row Racing is shutting down after 2018, because of lack of sponsorship dollars.
Tim Evans Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 Chad Knaus and Jimmie Johnson are parting ways after this year. I haven' watched NASCAR much the past couple years but this feels like an end of the Johnson era.
PetrolCB Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 Well, god damn, that was a fucking scary ending. I hope Newman is alright. 1
(BP) Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 I hardly ever pray, but I threw one up for Newman. Watching that crash really got to me, especially because of the eerie similarities to 2001. Hopefully we’ll hear some good news soon. 1
SirFozzie Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 Newman apparently has "serious, but non-life threatening injuries" It's miraculous.
Dewar Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 I knew something was up when the television cameras were not showing the rescue efforts. Glad it is not life-threatening.
Craig H Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 It's been a big story here since he's from here. Glad he should be ok.
Pete Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Up and walking around two days later. Yowza. 3
Pete Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Watching some of the iRacing, is it possible to skin different looks onto the cars? Can we get Ryan Blaney in an AMC Matador? Bubba Wallace driving a Superbird?
Pete Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Bubba Wallace goes all-in on thumbing racists in their collective eye with his paint scheme for Martinsville. 2

Dewar Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Richard is still the team owner. Don't think this gets done without his approval.

Dolfan in NYC Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Giving up is a good way of honoring that flag. 1 2 4
hammerva Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 (edited) I do enjoy the joke on Twitter that for NASCAR fans who need to have a confederate flag in order to enjoy it, there is still one flag that will always be there that also resembles the Confederates. The white flag which is used for I think for the warning and for surrender in war. Edited June 11, 2020 by hammerva 1
Dewar Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 The quitter barely qualifies as a racer. He has finished in the top 10 one time in 40 races in his "career". He has failed to qualify for 9 of those 40 events. Basically, we could find someone on the board to pull off what this moron has as a race car driver. Him claiming to be a race car driver would be like me claiming to be a professional soccer player because when someone asks me to play a game in net for their team I ask that they buy me a beer for my services. Bubba's car looked great, and he did a really good job last night. Racing analysis! 1

My guess is he was planning to retire anyway, but now this lets him shift the narrative from "so-so race car driver retires" to "TRUE PATRIOT CHOOSES VALUES OVER CAREER~!" Maybe soak the rubes for some cash on the way out too. 2
Zimbra Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 LMAO, this doofus' main sponsor was his own moving company. Christ, what an asshole.
