Do a triple threat if you want to hide the outcome.

Or pull a TNA and do a triple threat where a guy who wasn't announced for the match some how wins the title.

Wasn't that basically how Mike Awesome became ECW champion?

Tama Tonga is apparently going to test the free agent waters when his contract expires.

Pretty much made for TNA.

"We know who that is, Toma Tanga!"

etc.

It's like kicking a bloated corpse. All the fun is gone from it.

Yup. Awesome came out before the scheduled Taz vs Masato Tanaka match, turning it into a three-way dance. Taz was eliminated within a couple of minutes. Taz stuck around for another month before leaving ECW.

He stayed around another 3 months, and it was super weird. Everyone knew he was leaving, but instead of having one final match...he had 3 months of losing to RVD/Sabu/Awesome after that.

EXCLUSIVE UPDATE ON HUGE INTERNATIONAL NAME AND WWE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-01-13 11:56:00

Japanese star Shinsuke Nakamura, who was stripped earlier this week of the IWGP Intercontinental championship by New Japan Pro Wrestling, will be coming to the United States for several weeks in early February to spend time at the WWE Performance Center, PWInsider.com has exclusively confirmed with a source in Japan.

According to the source, Nakamura will be training at the WWE Performance Center in Winter Park, FL and will also undergo medical testing (I would assume in Pittsburgh, where such testing is usually done) that, if he passes it, would clear Nakamura to sign with WWE.

As PWInsider.com noted last week, Nakamura reached out to WWE about their interest in signing him in early 2015. By the time the company responded, he had already signed a one year deal with NJPW. Nakamura will be finishing up with New Japan later this month.

Nakamura, 35, is considered one of the most charismatic talents in New Japan. He is three time IWGP Heavyweight champion and a five time IWGP Intercontinental champion.

I have a lot of anxiety over this part.

Nakamura did an interview with Tokyo Sports (I can't link cuz I'm on my phone and my fingers are fat) where he basically confirms he is signing with the WWE

Didn't The Rise and Fall of ECW DVD basically retcon that and make it look like Taz left immediately after that match?

I seem to remember something to that effect too, but I haven't watched the DVD in a few years.

I can't imagine a world where there is a message board full of IRS marks. How strange.

I was an IRS fan and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

I really enjoy that with this story folks can keep reporting the same story and claim it's new

Former NWA, TNA and IWGP Heavyweight champion AJ Styles will begin his tenure with WWE this coming week, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

Styles is scheduled to be at the Royal Rumble this Sunday in Orlando, Florida as well as this week's Raw and Smackdown tapings in Miami and Tampa, respectively.  Styles teased his debut over the weekend in The UK, noting on the mic at a RevPro event that should a Rumble match slot be "open for him", he would take it.

Whether he debuts at the Rumble PPV (and how he debuts) remains to be seen, but AJ Styles will be making his WWE debut very soon.

As previously reported on PWInsider.com, TNA made a heavy play to bring Styles, one of their original stars, back to the fold with a big money offer said to be 3-4 years in length, but in the end, Styles opted to sign with WWE.

Styles, 38, first came to prominence as an early standout in the first year of Ring of Honor before cementing himself nationally as one of the cornerstone stars of TNA's X-Division when that company was founded in 2002.  He rose to World title main event status as well as becoming the star most associated with the TNA brand.  Styles departed TNA at the end of 2013 when he turned down a reduced contract from the company during a time when they were cost-cutting at all levels.

Styles immediately returned to ROH and debuted as a regular for New Japan Pro Wrestling as a member of the Bullet Club, putting together an incredible string of in-ring performances in each company.  In New Japan, he won the IWGP Heavyweight championship almost immediately and had two runs with the belt.   He finished up with New Japan on 1/4 and this Saturday, will make a signing appearance that will double as his farewell appearance in ROH in Duluth, GA.  For tickets to that event, visit www.ROHWrestling.com.

So, Anderson to WWE is confirmed. Enuhito said so on his Twitter account.

Karl Anderson revealed that he will go to WWE. Today is the last match in Japan for him and Doc Gallows.

Nakamura has officially signed with the WWE. Sounds like he might be in NXT for a while, which I think is great, because there are a ton of intriguing matches for him there beyond Sami. And I feel a strong need to see Nakamura interact with Bayley, and Enzo and Cass.
