The Natural Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Crap start to the season for my team. Blame the checkerboard home shirt!
ReiseReise Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 So, EL qualifier sees Dortmund down 0-3 after 22 minutes in Norway, playing Odds BK. If you placed a bet on that, you are a rich man.
ReiseReise Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 That's pretty odds. I resisted a "What are the Odds?!"-joke with everything I got, and this reminded me I didn´t have to. Thanks.
ReiseReise Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Game ends with a complete turnaround, as Aubameyang scores one in the first, followed by Kagawa again Aubameyang and Mhkitaryan to win the game 4-3 for Dortmund, who could have scored at least 7 with nobody having a real reason to complain. A great, fun game in the end, passionate underdog fighting the heavy favourites with all they had. 1
Death From Above Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 That's pretty odds. I resisted a "What are the Odds?!"-joke with everything I got, and this reminded me I didn´t have to. Thanks. Without shitty puns the world is a cold place. Aubameyang is an amazing player. 1
MoeCristyV.1.6 Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Great game, but that start was just hilarious. And why did Tuchel put Castro in the defense? Nevermind, because we won, but that should have been a 7 or 8 to 3.
Pete Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 Bournemouth breaks their VPL duck with a 4-3 thriller at West Ham. Crazy stuff.
Happ Hazzard Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 What is the MOTD on NBC like? How's it doing in the ratings?
odessasteps Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 What is the MOTD on NBC like? How's it doing in the ratings? It's Rebecca Lo-wah and the two pundits that week showing highlights while sitting in big comfy chairs. Hard to tell with ratings since it is often on at midnight or 0100. EPL ratings for NBC generally are up on NBC and MBCSN.
Joe Lucia Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Typically draws around 100k viewers, which is a good number given the timeslot.
ReiseReise Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Great game, but that start was just hilarious. And why did Tuchel put Castro in the defense? Nevermind, because we won, but that should have been a 7 or 8 to 3. From what I recall, Castro was playing fullback at one point in his career. He stopped playing in that position a few years ago, but was labelled one of the great hopes defending as a right back a few years ago. However, Lahm always stated that he wanted to play at right back, which led to him never establishing himself on that position in the national team. He went back to midfielder a couple of years ago. Strangely, it seems to be a trend in German football to put fullbacks in CM spots. EDIT (wrongfully posted in WC 2018 thread at first): Okay, I´m all calm now in regards to my football beliefs! Dortmund is back to wasting chances. Their first match against Gladbach, they pretty much scored with every shot in the first half. Now against Odds and Ingolstadt, they created tons of chances, missing them in almost comical fashion. Dortmund took the lead after roughly an hour thanks to workaround-rightback Ginter of all people, then doubled the lead with a Reus penalty. Match had kind of a weird feeling, but ended with a 4-0 win (Kagawa and Aubameyang finishing off Ingolstadt) for the BVB who take an early lead in the Bundesliga table after matchday 2.
odessasteps Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 juvy lose for first time EVER at home on opening weekend.
piranesi Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Goddammit watching West Brom try to mount an attack is like watching one of those vibrating magnet football games. 1
Death From Above Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Balotelli is being loaned back to AC Milan. Probably for the best, I guess. 1
Jiji Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 It's for the best. I hope he does well for greedy reasons and I like him despite him being the shits for LFC.
Jiji Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Holy crap, Liverpool look fantastic. Benteke has fit in so well and really opens up transition and attack to a whole new world of possibilities. Coutinho is world class right now. That double jink past Bellerin and rocket drive headed for post and in was gorgeous.
ChesterCopperpot Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Cech keeping Arsenal in the game in the first half. Thoroughly expect a 1-0 Arsenal win now
Pete Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 Hart knew he got out of jail on that one. Great reaction.
Jiji Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Celtic are doing Celtic things. Gordon's incredible double save followed up by conceding a li'l dinker of a goal from a corner. They need a goal here quickly.
