Nice Guy Eddie Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 No, it's... Incredible. Thanks, I'll be here all week. but it's not Justin Credible.
cool arrow Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 It most assuredly is not. And for that we should all be grateful.
Kuetsar Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Superstar photos are like a 70's time capsule. . . 1
Technico Support Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Why I love wrestling reason #8696: Only pro wrestling could have a homosexual Jew portray an evil Arab named "The Grand Wizard." 7
Technico Support Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 The Grand Wizard was gay? I didn't know that. Yup Roth was revealed to be homosexual after his death, although some claim they were aware of his sexual orientation during his lifetime. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernie_Roth
cool arrow Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 So, wait, a gay man willingly wore those hideous jackets? 3
Technico Support Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 It was his commentary on straight, and very square, Arab culture. 1
odessasteps Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Victor the Bear v King Curtis would be quite the battle
misanthrope304 Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 I dont know if this has been posted before, but I just stumbled across this while looking for an Angry Amish Roadkill gif where he was doing the hand wringing and saying "chickens" (I mean, do you really want to know why) 1

thee Reverend Axl Future Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 I am intrigued by the Hebrew lettering in James L's tattoo, as well as the wizard depicted on his rib cage. - RAF

HumanChessgame Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I really want to hear a Victor the Great shoot interview. That guy has to have a ton of good stories. 1
Michael Sweetser Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Man, wrestling was just more manly back then.
Stevie Ray Von Erich Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 "Manly beyond all wildest expectations" or something similar used to be a filter for gay around here. I think pro wrestling has such an interesting history with the LGTBQ+ community. It's clearly homoerotic, but effeminate characters have been portrayed as villainous since its inception. At the same time, flamboyance is often a major trait in popular babyfaces, and some of those effeminate heels do get lengthy face runs. I also feel like wrestling has been welcoming to gay performers as well (which is not to discount stories of discrimination), if only because it's been a bastion of some of society's left behind folks. There's a pretty long list of gay wrestlers who have reached huge heights in the industry, and I'm really curious how the greater LGTBQ+ community views their accomplishments in what is typically considered low culture. 3
LP Steve Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 That dissertation is just sitting there waiting to be written. 2
