This Week In NFL Stupidity

Can some of the more legally-minded among us please explain why the league might have rules against giving me the bottle cap?  All I can think of is that a closed bottle makes a better projectile.

Yeah, if you throw it the liquid's going to come out making it far less effective. Another reason they give here is that if there's an evacuation and people are scrambling to get out a bottle without the lid should crumple, but with the lid on people are going to be falling over, turning ankles, and getting trampled.

Man, is it getting harder to root for the anything NFL related. They condone abusive asshole-ism, will sue anyone who uses a picture of them without getting their fair share, and now you have to risk something icky going into your water bottle because you can't even keep the cap?

Besides, Cleveland Philly has taught us that caps don't mean a damn thing when you still got the bottle to throw. ;)

NFLPA has filed a grievance on behalf of Adrian Peterson, because the one for Ray Rice has gone so well. . .    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11855452/nfl-players-association-files-grievance-adrian-peterson-case

Well, they kinda have to file the grievance.  They say there was an explicit agreement in place for proceeding after the legal stuff was done and that the NFL isn't following that agreement.  If they don't file the grievance, they can be sued by the player.

Hearing is going to be on the 17th. Per the CBA, the league has to make a ruling within 5 days of the hearing.

If the league says he needs to go for 6 games, his season is done anyway. Though people are saying that it's going to be less after the NFLPA and the league talk things out.

Probably not going to be worth them putting him on the field by the time he gets back anyway. Ah, well. McKinnon is doing just fine so far.

I think Kevin Smith got it right with the end of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. If you talk this kind of shit, someone really needs to show up at your door to humble you.

I really wish it could be a young Iron Sheik.

OR we can start the Beatdown Bus back up.

If the standard is 6 games, then he shouldn't miss any more time, IMHO.  Just fine him 6 game checks, since he already sat out 8+ games.

What an age we live in. We don't do what's right anymore, but rather what's legal.

:(

I don't disagree with you, but what is 'right' is too subjective.  You could poll 100 people and get probably 10 different ideas of what the 'right' thing is to do in any of these situations.  We should just let Tabe decide everything, he seems pretty level-headed.

I know, its just that they haven't been able to do anything for Ray Rice. That;s way he pays dues, but the lawless way Goodell has been rolling it doesn't seem to be the most effective way. Still fuck that child abusing piece of shit. . .

The NFL apparently asked for information from AP but his lawyers have ignored the NFL's request which is why they are at this point.

That's the NFL's version of the story, yeah.  Both sides are probably lying to some degree.  So...credibility contest - the NFL and its attorneys vs the attorneys for a guy who beats his kid.  Who ya got?
