Matt D Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Smackdown all but ended with Trips doing the Yes thing next to Bryan and sucking up that adulation.
Cristobal Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I'm on the fence about ordering. Couldn't find anyone to go in on it with me, so it's "do I want to pay 50 bucks for a card full of good to great matches that is likely to end in an overbooked clusterfuck?"
rzombie1988 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I'm on the fence about ordering. Couldn't find anyone to go in on it with me, so it's "do I want to pay 50 bucks for a card full of good to great matches that is likely to end in an overbooked clusterfuck?" The main is guaranteed to be overbooked. There could be anywhere from 3-5 people getting involved with Vince, Triple H, Brad, Steph and Orton. I'll reviewing Summerslam live with pics and gifs at http://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2013/08/wwe-summerslam-results-and-review.html
Cristobal Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Yeah but still. I'll regret it (for a little while, anyway) if Bryan walks out the champ and I miss it. I literally cannot remember the last time I've cared about a match's outcome so much.
GOTNW Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 At this point a part of me thinks they'll just end up giving Cena a clean win because no one expects it anymore.
Skelemania Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I'm on the fence about ordering. Couldn't find anyone to go in on it with me, so it's "do I want to pay 50 bucks for a card full of good to great matches that is likely to end in an overbooked clusterfuck?" Do you want to see the journey or do you want to see the destination? This is also my dilemma...mainly because I'm so critical of wrestling nowadays.
Cristobal Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 It's a fair question, but it's also fair to note that a drive in the nicest car with the prettiest scenery can be ruined by a four-car pileup.

cool arrow Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Is there anything more markish than an ECDub chant in 2013?
mco543 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Being a pro wrestler and paying to see a wrestling show. 8
Cristobal Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 The USA chant we'll be getting during the match between a Mexican and a Canadian?
Spontaneous Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I find the dolphinsfan stuff on reddit as intriguing as the actual show he is attempting to spoil.
Victator Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Being a pro wrestler and paying to see a wrestling show. Enjoying pro wrestling in any form. Also probably not the best idea to pick a fight with Henry and Show. Looking like Heyman was the brains all along. 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 God damn it. I hate it when I'm fucking right.
The Natural Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 Fuck that ending. Hoped it wasn't going to happen.
DJ Hero Morganti Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 There was a muscle buster on WWE TV. Cody channeling Golddust AND Bob Holly made that match for me
bink_winkleman Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Saw it coming, but man, what a buzzkill. Orton is such a channel changer that I don't know if I can keep up with the feud, and Bryan won't ever recapture those heights. Lesnar/Punk was great. 1
Skelemania Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 That was a great Pay-Per-View though. Some really good matches. I'm happy with it. :-)
Brisco Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 That was a well booked PPV. Great heel turn as I want Orton dead, and so does most of the WWE fans. Cena can now take time off to get that elbow fixed while Bryan chases Orton. 3
Buy Me a Burrito Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Holy crap, what an ending. They strung it out just long enough to make me think that it wasn't happening. 4
The Natural Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 The three matches I was interested, John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar vs. CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio vs. Christian all delivered and then some. I was sat open mouthed to the Cena/Bryan finish, clean pin with a brutal running knee strike. 4
Gonzalez Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 That was a really great PPV. Topped by the instant classic Punk Vs. Lesnar. 1
Victator Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 At least Daniel Bryan can say he was champion longer than Andre The Giant.
eikerir Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Great show, the top two matches delivered as expected and the WHC match was great too. The ROF match was the only crap on the show really. Lesnar-Punk was worked perfectly by both guys, made Punk look strong in defeat. And fuuuuuu at that ending, I understant why they did it but i hate it so much, Bryan winning felt like one of those great moments in history to end the show. Also, when was the last time Cena was pinned 100% clean in the middle of the ring? Loved that Bryan super finisher with the epic Yes chants to set it up.
