Gonzo Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Also, is mike and mike the worst radio show on espn? I can think of talking heads who I dislike more, but their show is just hot garbage. Cowherd. Just can't stand that guy. I'd honestly rather listen to Mike and Mike. 1
Gonzo Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Mike Golic @espngolic 36 seconds ago Spoke to Bill, all is good. I'll discus on show So there's that, I guess.

Just can't stand that guy. I'd honestly rather listen to Mike and Mike. Cowherd is definitely the guy I dislike the most, but his show can be interesting at times. I don't know if it's simply the wider range of guests or what. Mike and Mike is just boring.
odessasteps Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Cowherd replacing TK was tanamount to a sportsworld war crime. #hyperbole 1
Gonzo Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Does ESPN Radio still do the V Show? Because I loved the hell out of that show when I could listen to it. All Night with Todd Wright was pretty great, too, but I know they've long moved on from that. 1
Zimbra Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I haven't watched anything on ESPN that wasn't a sporting event or a 30 for 30 in years and I think my life is much richer for it. 1
Tabe Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Mike Golic @espngolic 36 seconds ago Spoke to Bill, all is good. I'll discus on show So there's that, I guess. Why the heck would anybody wanna see Golic discus? Is he particularly good with flinging plates or something? 3
Brian Fowler Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Simmons has to be more valuable to the four letter then half of Mike and Mike, doesn't he?
muhammedboehm Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Maybe I missed something but what did Simmons say that would get him fired? I saw him on Twitter call out Mike and Mike for not having him on the show when talking about what he said.
Josh Mann Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Short version: Simmons wondered aloud whether LeBron is in decline on his podcast, Golic disagreed on HIS show and called Simmons a media whore in the process. If Simmons feels what he said was misinterperated and was pissed over an in-house potshot, I get that. But responding like a petulant child on Twitter isn't doing him any favors.
Niners Fan in CT Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Any sports radio show that doesn't take callers is a fucking joke and shouldn't be listened to.
odessasteps Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Any sports radio show that doesn't take callers is a fucking joke and shouldn't be listened to. Strongly disagree. My two all-time favorite radio shows (old TK show and old Lebatard show) never or rarely took callers. Who cares what Louie from the Bronx / pat from voorhees /... thinks?

If Simmons feels what he said was misinterperated and was pissed over an in-house potshot, I get that. But responding like a petulant child on Twitter isn't doing him any favors. But when they take what he said out of context then yes he has a right to be upset.
Josh Mann Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 That's the hell of it. Simmons isn't wrong but this is yet another example of him punching at a windmill. At this point, he needs to annoit one of his Grantland underlings (with all due respect to Mike Zeidler), a Twitter Bitch for these situations. Because it's clear when he takes matters into his own hands, this happens.
Niners Fan in CT Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Who cares what Louie from the Bronx / pat from voorhees /... thinks? That IS sports radio. It gives the fans of the team a voice and an opportunity to show their displeasure. Yes, just not buying tickets is the best way to do that but this is a more entertaining way to do it. Plus, who doesn't love to hear these oddball callers get into an argument with a radio personality? If you don't take calls you are chickenshit..
odessasteps Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I dont. When i listen to podcasts with caller segments, i skip them. The only exception is 606, since im usually in the car, but will mute when certain teams' fans are moaning.
Niners Fan in CT Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I think it's one of the biggest reasons why Francesa absolutely destroys whoever ESPN puts against him in New York.
odessasteps Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Undoubtedly. I assume every market has that guy: francesa, eskin, mark madden, ...
Josh Mann Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Who cares what Louie from the Bronx / pat from voorhees /... thinks? Louie's in the Bronx. Try the veal, it's the best in the city. They also have those old-time boxes above the toilets. 1

If I wanted to listen to mouth-breathers who have as much inside knowledge and presence as I do argue passionately over sports, I'd just copy a reddit thread into a text-to-speech program. 3
hammerva Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Awful announcing decided to create a Wrestlemania card based on the sports media bitch fests going on right now. Fun read if your computer can handle the advertisements and crap http://awfulannouncing.com/2014/wrestlemedia-favorite-media-feuds-wwe-ppv.html
Josh Mann Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Happy Xmas War Is Over. Simmons and Golic called a truce.
Niners Fan in CT Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Which means someone must have told Golic to pipe down. ESPN loves to throw their weight around but I doubt they'd choose Golic over Simmons.

Raziel Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 It was neat, but I take umbridge at Francesca Lesnaring Kay. Kay is better, but that's mostly because Francesca has been unlistenable since him and Russo split.
