Curt McGirt Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 (edited) Oh, I noticed. It was just this was the second time I'd seen it (first time was at Killers of the Flower Moon) and was paying more attention to my popcorn.Β That's a good look for him EDIT: That plays way better as a straight trailer and I now got the Frankenstein influence beyond Dafoe's makeup. They're missing a funny bit in the other piece though where Emma Stone has just finished fucking Mark Ruffalo, rolls over and says "How come people don't do this all the time?" and he just looks at her like "Uhhhh... I have something to tell you..." Edited December 4, 2023 by Curt McGirt

odessasteps Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 From a post I saw, sounds like he is still buying comics.
(BP) Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Itβs like the Tarantino thing where heβll just do television when he needs a paycheck or feels like working. Curt McGirt Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 He owes the world one complete piece of trash still, right? Then again, I dunno, he probably has about three already in the pipeline.Β

Craig H Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 I can't even think of the last movie I saw in theaters before covid. I know my wife and I went to see Tenet when theaters opened back up and that was pleasant even if the movie wasn't. Now I want to look this up... Oh Jesus. It was Rise of Skywalker. That was for me, my daughter, and wife though. My wife went to go see Cats in the theater with her friend and the two of them had a blast laughing at it. Huh, the last good movie I saw in the theater before covid was Jumanji The Next Level (hey, we thought it was pretty fun and liked it).Β And yep, Tenet was the first movie we went to the theater for again. 1
(BP) Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 We still go to the movies fairly often, but a lot of the time weβll go on a discount day and just buy the seats on either side of us so we donβt have anyone right on top of us. Weβre so into the ritual of it that sometimes when we do movie night at home weβll hit the concession stand at AMC and bring it back to the house.Β
Dolfan in NYC Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 I know I talk up Alamo Drafthouse a lot, but when I went back to the theaters for the first time after lockdown (Nomadland was what finally got me back), they played this new opener.Β After being closed for close to a year, it was great to go back to the theater experience I'd loved since I was a kid and thought I'd never have again.Β Literal tears rolled down my face, but I am after everything a big softie: The song they use is the absolutely terrific "The Wilderness" by Explosions in the Sky.Β 1
