  1. i want to live in the world where Coach Tony addresses it in this way: "William Regal is no longer a part of AEW. He has accepted a much larger role with a different wrestling promotion. Now, I am pleased to announce the new head of Ring of Honor, William Regal!"

  5. Dalton Castle and the Boys are ready to break some hearts. Castle waits for the Boys to do some stuff before going TOTAL Steiner. The Boys and Castle TWIRLING, TWIRLING TO FREEDOM! I don't see them getting past the Gates Of Agony, but you gotta wrestle the matches. Abadon takes on Leva Bates! Abadon needs to get on TV to boost some ratings. Nice Northern Lights Suplex by Bates! Leva Bates is getting some stuff in. German Suplex by BATES~! Abadon kicks Bates in the head and that's that. Awesome! Leon Ruffin gets entrance music! He gets to get CRUSHED by Brian Cage. Ruffin gets some niftiness in before Cage OPTS to destroy him. Leon Ruffin is replacing SERP and Fuego as the New King of YouTube wrestling. Ruffin has a COMEBACK! Ruffin is waaay fun. GREAT LARIAT by Cage. WEAPON X! Brian Cage is totally awesome. That was good. WEAPONEXCELLENCE OF EXECUTION! LEGIT HEAT! The Brick City Boiz! How will they be Chokeslammed? Sonjay is a HEAT MACHINE! It's a meeting of New Jersey dudes! Satnam chucks one of the Boiz into one of the Boiz on the floor! SIDEWALK SLAM! ATHENA! ATHENA! ATHENA! Becca gets to get the fuck beat out of her. Athena is like when Fit Finlay showed up in WCW. Becca gets in some stuff! Athena waits to kill her. Anthony Henry! The poor man's Trent Barretta takes on Trent Barretta! Barretta bumps like FREAK for Henry and Henry is AWESOME crushing Trent against the barricade. Maybe Henry is the middle class version of Trent. Nice Backdrop Driver by Trent. Awesome! Released Dragon Suplex by Trent. Nice DDT! I always forget how awesome Trent is. Shining Wizard FOR TWO! SWEET AVALANCHE FALCON ARROW by Henry! Great nearfall on the toprope Double Stomp by Henry! Trent fucking CRUSHES Henry on the apron. Nice Lariat by Trent. Nice Piledriver by Henry! Roll up is countered into another roll up by Trent for the win! That was fucking GREAT!

  6. Garvin getting a monster face pop for knocking out Dusty is one of my favorite moments. Bonus points for Windham being a complete dick by still putting The Claw on an unconscious Rhodes anyway.

  7. Can't tell if serious. Dixie being told Spike didn't want to work with Russo then hiring Russo and lying to the network about it is NOT the same as Tony being told WBD don't want performers on their TV, and very publicly giving them a job where they.... aren't appearing on WBD TV. He signed them to ROH & has made them PPV only. He's not hiding anything. He's not being deceitful. He isn't lying to them. He is abiding by their ask. You are doing some real fancy mental gymnastics to make this confirm to your bias.

  8. The Khan's net worth is currently... $11.8 BILLION according to Google. AEW is going nowhere. This is TK's passion and even if they lost TV and were losing money hand over fist he'd be fine paying for it forever and creating his own streaming service to distribute it. That's not how he's running it. He's running it like a legitimate business and trying to make money with it. But a publicly traded company is on way shakier ground than legitimate billionaires. WWE is always one really bad Saudi incident away from their stock tanking. They are in bed with some pretty unsavory stuff even if they have thus far kept it light and positive. All this doom and gloom or pontificatating that WWE is on so much more stable ground is a bit misguided to me. The truth is neither one of them are going anywhere. A talent would be better off decideding where they want to be based on how often they'd like to wrestle. In AEW you won't eclipse 25-30 TV matches in a year most likely. In WWE you'll be hitting 50-60 TV matches a year. Do you prefer visibility and TV time, regardless of the importance presented on it, or do you prefer less is more and preserving your body? Neither choice is right. Neither choice is wrong. It's a preference thing. And that should be what talent base their decision on, not internet sleuths perusing the finances of billionaires lol.

  9. Either that or do a live Battle of the Belts and have FTR vs Acclaimed main event that. It would be the first BotB that anyone would give a shit about.

  12. I'm playing catch up but... I really appreciated Kip and Penelope getting under Reynolds' skin with the 10 stuff. That's the sort of "everyone is in one shared universe" stuff you rarely see. The crazed look on Solo's face before he missed the double stomp (Which led into the Blue Thunder Bomb) is literally the best thing he's ever done.

  19. I'm in ideally if the match is on YouTube. If not YouTube, Dailymotion. I've never taken part in any of these and I think I suck at match reviews but I'll do my best. I've seen very little of Nick Bockwinkel (sorry, @Matt D), Joshi (sorry) or the late great Mr. Brodie Lee away from WWE/AEW. Cheers!

  21. I think the answer is to go to a time limit draw, have FTR's Final Battle opponents (Ass Boys or Kingdom) attack AFTER the time limit is over, have FTR and Acclaimed vow to fight again soon, and then run it back at Revolution if FTR sign extensions. The problem is that you don't want either team to lose (yet).

  24. Tony needs to watch some 1984 Mid-South and go in with “Regal’s going to a place where the competition isn’t as tough because in AEW, we sneak attack old men”. Tony, ask yourself what would Bill Watts do?

  30. AEW was never expected to be profitable until 2024 or so. Supposedly, any money they did make in the past few years was reinvested in either the company or the game. What will tell the story going forward are the TV rights fees.

  36. extra Bash 88 notes: having a 30 minute time limit for the US Tag Team titles one match after having a 20 minute time limit for the World Tag Team titles is slightly inconsistent but i'm sure that they negotiated an extra 10 minutes into the match. Another good match with the Midnights and Fantastics as per their usual. The forces of evil win after a chain shot. Then Cornette comes down and our heroes beat him up a little and take off Tommy Young's belt to get some shots in. Also the Maryland State Athletic Commission gets mentioned during MX/Fantastics (da da daaaa) The Tower of Doom looks impressive, the rules explanation is a bit wordy, there are some giant fucking ladders (Ladders of Doom?) for this thing... and apparently this Tower Of Doom match is so huge that Kevin Sullivan, Gary Hart, and Paul Jones have teamed up for The Tower Of Doom. I think they started this match by sending the two oldest competitors (Ivan Koloff and Ronnie Garvin) up ladders to the top cage and this thing is fucking bizarre and then they opened up the trap doors and I thought one thing Like seriously. What drugs were involved with this idea. Going from the first two matches to the Tower of Doom is a change. Multi man cage matches with escape rules make the people leaving the cage look like complete idiots. Points for creativity but that was a mess. And I believe they did it a few more times *before* Uncensored 96 Windham vs Rhodes: I'm pretty sure I haven't seen a 5 minute long clawhold spot until this match. So Ronnie Garvin got through the Tower of Doom, went to the back, and then turned heel on Dusty (which, IIRC, didn't go anywhere aside from Ronnie Garvin leaving the company) With the combination of all the other matches and the main event, the price for freedom really is most of the babyfaces losing (aside from the Tower of Doom) And upon seeing the trickle of blood stoppage ending in context.. 1) kinda remarkable they did two "make the fans think the babyfaces won the title" endings on the same card and the fans bought it both times 2) Flair would have tapped a gusher if the ending was "the match is stopped due to Flair's bleeding and the title can't change hands" 3) how much would Flair need to bleed to make a blood stoppage not seem like bullshit? man.... this card just fucked over babyfaces all night, it's sorta remarkable even if they kinda lit money on fire with these endings

  37. I've never heard of the Northern Boys but their hilarious song cut to Vince stuff at the end of Botchamania 464 from yesterday is *chef's kiss* Just one of the most hilarious things I've both seen and heard all year -- and watch the original video for more verses!

  38. They probably have deep fryers in packs of ten. Place is ridiculous. I worked in one as what turned out to be a fucking dishwasher in the bakery for about a week before walking. They checked the floor grates with a knife! EDIT: Oh btw, this place gives out food samples like Sam's Club here in the States. Trust me, that dude maxed.

  40. TNA Jarrett is unwatchable. He's not a bad worker in a vacuum, but he learned all the wrong lessons from the Attitude/Russo-WCW era. Too many run-ins and gaga to the point that you'd just be waiting for the inevitable and it almost made the twenty minutes you had to sit through almost pointless because who gave a shit until the run-ins/weapon shots started.
